Playby: Samuel Witwer
Name: Danviel Koenig
Age:532/25
Sex: Male
Sexual Orientation: pansexual
Species: Vampire
Physical Description: Tall dark and handsome is an understatement for this vampire. He is 6’3” tall with broad shoulders and narrow hips. He is build like a warrior because he was a soldier when he was turned. His thick, messy shock of hair is so dark black, in the sunlight the highlights look almost blue. His eyes are so dark blue, they look almost black. He has a muscular frame with perfect washboard abs. He has a perfect, chiseled jaw with a tiny dimple on his chin.
Attitude: Danny is quiet and reserved. He keeps to himself and doesn’t usually talk to anyone unless they address him first. He is kind to others but gets annoyed with mindless babble. He does not like people who are liars or flakey in any way. People who are indecisive also annoy the hell out of him. He appears to be dark and broody but that is because he is so compassionate and has lost two loves in the time he has walked the earth and each time he had loved with every fiber of his being.
Abilities: Danny has the basic vampire abilities including compulsion. Being 535 years old, he is quite powerful. A recent sequence of events has allowed Danny to tolerate the sunlight. He is photosensitive and must wear sunglasses in the sun. He is still compelled to sleep in the daytime. Staying in the sunlight too long will result in a wicked sunburn that is 3 times worse than any human will get so he must wear long sleeves and long pants if he will be in the sun for more than an hour. In addition to being photosensitive, Danny’s eyes are more susceptible to damage than his skin. Very dark sunglasses are imperative which impair his eyesight somewhat.
History: Danviel Koenig was born for the second time in 1535. He has no memory of his life as a human due to him acquiring a severe head wound in the heat of battle which left him in a coma that lead physicians to believe he was dead. His earliest memory is of waking up in shallow hole, covered in dirt, with a young man. He became a son to this man who appeared to be younger than him. They fed from the dying men on the battlefield. Daniel came to find out that the young man, Jonas, found him dumped in a mass grave and found him to be beautiful. Jonas loved him from the moment he saw him and decided to turn him.
Daniel stayed with his maker for two hundred fifty years. It was when they moved to the New World that Danny’s world changed drastically. The two had become architectural engineers and were working on one of the tallest buildings that had ever been built in New York City. Their clients thought it was odd that they only worked at night but since their talents were highly coveted, they paid a high price for their work. One night while walking the beams and inspecting the work that had been done during the day, a freak accident occurred. Danny didn’t see it happen but the beam Jonas was walking on collapsed and Jonas fell. The fall itself should not have killed Jonas but he landed in a pile of wood scraps. One of the scraps impaled Jonas, stabbing him through the heart. A barrel that was used to burn the scraps was close enough to be knocked over into the pile and set it on fire. By the time Danny got to his maker, the whole thing was engulfed in flames. Danny was alone.
Danny returned to his home with the intent to meet the sun when it rose but a young servant who was a daytime guardian over the two vampires talked him out of it by telling him that Jonas would want him to live. He asked Danny to promise to wait until the new century to take his own life. He didn’t know why, but Danny agreed. Danny continued to work as an architect for many years, in many cities, putting his mark under different names on some of the most amazing structures that were ever build, each one better than the last. By the time the new century came around, Danny forgot that he ever wanted to die.
When the apocalypse occurred, Danny survived on his servants until he was out scavenging for food and water for them and zombies devastated his estate. He travelled to what was known as safe zones until the sanctuary cities began to be built. Danny was put to work in New Vegas as a city planner. In 2050, Danny met Josh. He was a young man who was sentenced to slavery for telling a VSF officer to go fuck himself. Danny found him to be quite appealing and loved his fire and zest for life. After only a few months, the two fell in love, Danny released Josh but he stayed with him and became his partner. They were together for 15 years. Everyone thought the two men were the perfect couple. They were known to finish each other’s sentences and were never seen apart from each other.
One night, they argued brutally about Danny not wanting to live without Josh. Josh was growing old and Danny never would. Danny stormed out of the suite and stalked down the hallway. Josh followed him, begging him to come back and talk about it. The elevator was taking too long so Danny took the stairs. Josh followed and tripped on the top stair and fell. The way he landed caused him to sustain severe internal injuries. He was rushed to the hospital where the doctors told Danny, there was nothing they could do and to consider turning him. Josh was conscious long enough to make Danny promise not to turn him and not to daywalk. Of course, it being Josh’s dying wish, Danny agreed. It has been 5 years since Josh passed away but Danny continued to be haunted by his death. He lived alone in a small house on the edge of the burrow, away from other vampires. His sadness consumed him but he continued to go to work and fed regularly on bottled blood. It feds him but did not satisfy him.
It was beginning to become too much to bear and nearly every human he encountered taunted him with their steady heartbeats and radiating warmth. He decided to daywalk to stop his pain but he wanted one last warm, fresh blooded meal. The night before he planned to walk in the sun, he paid a man to let him feed on him. He didn’t know it was a mutant. Neither did the mutant. When he bit the man, what appeared to be beams of sunlight exploded from the wound and filled Danny from the inside. Light burst from his eyes, ears and mouth and seering pain engulfed him and he felt himself slipping away. He passed out.
When he woke, he was laying next to the body of the mutant who he had somehow drained. What was most incredible was that it was daylight. The sun was shining on Danny and he was not burning up. Danny found that he can tolerate the sun on his skin and not die. Danny is still compelled to sleep in the daytime but since he is old enough to fight it, he sometimes fights it just so he can feel the sun on his face and feel almost human again, even for a few short hours per day.

Rp Sample: The shutters had all closed on the casinos and the night sky had given way to the light grey ambiance of dawn. Danny walked down the footpath in his black leather jacket, black jeans and dark sunglasses with a hop in his step and a grin on his face. This was the third day he was able to walk in the sun without becoming fried vampire and he was thoroughly enjoying it. One of the things he enjoyed most was the looks on people’s faces when they saw him walking in the sun without burning up. Since he was the city planner, people recognized his face. It was the most incredible feeling he ever had. He had gone out well before the sun came up so he could see the sunrise. He had found a place where he could see the sun rise over the mountain range to the east and that was where he was going.
Danny followed the winding footpath to the small coffee lounge that had a deck built on the rooftop that served as a sort of lookout. He liked the two human men who ran the place. They reminded him of his days with Josh. He sat down at a small table and ordered a cup of coffee that he would never raise to his lips, he just wanted to feel normal for once. The sky was already lit up with streaks of orange and red, shadowed but dark grey whispy clouds with highlights of blue peeking through. He smiled with nostalgic joy as he watched the sky. Suddenly he felt eyes on him. He turned to look at an amazing specimen of a man staring at him.
“You daywalking?” the man asked him cautiously.
Danny smiled brightly, “Uh, no, not really, kind of…for some reason I can tolerate the sun. No need to call anyone, I’m not killing myself.” He answered back and turned back to nature's show. “This is my third sunrise this week. Still kicking.” He said softly and smiled again. Whilst the sunrise was quickly becoming a plain blue sky with white streaks of whispy clouds, he was still happy to be out in the daylight but now, his attention moved back to the fine looking man. “So, what’s your name?” he asked, “Come here often?” It was a sorely abused pickup line but for Danny, it usually worked.
