Vampire Organizations
The Magistracy aka ‘The Council’
The Magistrates are the oldest and most powerful Vampires of New Vegas. They are primarily the original founders of the New Vegas Sanctuary City and are in charge of overseeing all aspects of life the City. They answer to no one but Drake Legend. The Magistracy has the greatest wealth out of everyone in New Vegas and each Magistrate owns a Casino and governs the surrounding district.
Each Magistrate brings something unique to the table and they have special ‘gifts’ that the majority of Vampires do not.
The Magistracy is comprised of seven members of which Thor Ericsson is head.
Vampire Security Force aka ‘VSF’
The VSF are the law, security, protection, and the muscle of New Vegas. It is their job to protect New Vegas from zombies, rebels, and anyone else to attempts to cause New Vegas harm. They protect the citizens of New Vegas and enforce the laws with an iron fist.
All Techahumans work for the VSF and often work the ‘day shift’ and sometimes mutants are also employed depending on their 'gifts'.
Vampire VSF officers who work the day shifts wear protective uniforms, called sun-suits, that protect them from the sun’s rays.
• Fire Elementals are responsible for eradicating any contaminated objects i.e. zombie corpses, Lycan corpses, etc. and also aid in working the day light hours with the VSF.
• Shadow Elementals are responsible for cloaking the city in darkness in case of an emergency and aid the VSF during the night.
The VSF are based out of the Security Station.
The Blackwell Posse
Each member of the Posse has had their life saved by Hoyt Blackwell by being given the choice turn Vampire or die. They were turned in the order that they appear on the canon list. Most of them met Hoyt for the first time during their teenage years and were rescued in one way or another. They have a strong family bond and go by the code of the old west.
They always carry pistols with wood and silver bullets in at any given time and all of them will most likely die with their boots on, if ever.
The Posse make their home around 2 miles outside the city wall at Stoney's Rockin' Country Dance Hall. A secure shuttle runs between there and the city.
Mutant Organizations
Mutant Protection Society aka ‘MPS’
MPS is a sort of ‘social services’ for mutant kind. This organization was created and owned by Gavin McMahon and Samantha Cross. Their duties include finding and providing shelters and jobs for mutant kind. Gavin and Samantha make sure fellow mutants are treated with respect… it is not unheard of for people to 'go missing' following a hate crime against mutants…
They also help mutants register with the city authorities, especially those who's applications might need a little 'creative fudging' to pass.
The MPS are based out of an abandoned office block.
The Fables
The Fables are mutants of the mythical kind. This includes, but not limited to centaurs, satyrs, faeries, and elves. They are part human part animal and resemble those described in mythology.
They reside in The Sanctuary Park, a sacred place that is forbidden to others and are protected by the Keepers, Elementals who maintain the park, and by their Guardian, the Centaur King, Giovanni.
Whilst they are not forbidden to leave the park, few Fables choose to do so.
Other Organizations
Elemental Stabilization and Preservation aka ‘ESP’
The ESP is an organization of Elementals, under the Magistracy’s direction, whose job is the preservation of New Vegas and the areas around it.
Each type of elemental has their responsibilities:
• Earth Elementals are responsible for growing and maintaining the food supply.
• Water Elementals are in charge of keeping all water sources purified.
• Wind Elements are responsible for keeping the air purified.
• Fire Elementals are responsible for eradicating any contaminated objects i.e. zombie corpses, Lycan corpses, etc. and also aid in working the daylight hours with the VSF.
• Light Elementals are responsible for keeping New Vegas powered.
• Shadow Elementals are responsible for cloaking the city in darkness in case of an emergency and aid the VSF during the night.
The Lycans
Due to the ancient enmity between Vampires and Lycans, the New Vegas Pack are forced to live in the Underground; the abandoned part of the city that is filled with the ruins of old Las Vegas and mutant refugees.
The Lycans remain hidden in their Lair, a fortified area of the old Las Vegas subway system accessed through the city sewers. Not even the VSF dare to patrol there.
Though they make forays into the city in their human forms to steal supplies and hunt the unlucky or unwary, any Lycan spotted in their Lycan form is immediately shot on sight by the VSF.
