Vampires
RULE #1- VAMPIRES DO NOT SPARKLE
RULE #1- VAMPIRES DO NOT SPARKLE
ORIGINS
All vampires are the descendants of Drake Legends or so it is believed. Drake was on earth at the dawn of man and they don't really know when that was or how old he truly is. His power is beyond measure and all vampires treat him with reverent loyalty that borders on fear. Vampires are physically incapable of doing anything against their King, having been created with a perfect love and devotion for the man.
Drake Legends
(Father of all Vampires)
CULTURE
Drake Legends is the King of Vampires, and since the apocalypse uncontested King of the World. The feudal manner in which the Sanctuary cities have been organised with their Districts and Magistrates is quite representative of how vampire culture and society is and has always been. Democracy is not an idea they have ever entertained.
Drake is King and he rules a Kingdom resplendent with lords and ladies, each of whom owe him their fealty and preside over their fiefs in his name. The older a vampire is, the more powerful he is and as such the greatest of the nobility are also the eldest; vampire society is very much a Gerontocracy and woe to any fledgeling who forgets that.
After their King, a vampire's first loyalty is to their maker above all others.
Most vampires kill themselves on their 1000th birthday by “day walking”.
A vampire who is of royal blood or holds a high station that commits a terrible crime will be ‘Urned’. This means he will be burned in a special chamber where all the ashes will be kept together and placed in a fragile urn. When an amount of time has passed that is suitable for the crime, the urn will be filled with blood. It takes 30 years for the body to reform and from several decades to centuries for the vampire to waken, if he ever does.
Im thinking a special place that is a secret location, or in a special place in the lab
ut Octavius will be in charge of them, because they are royalty, common vampires are just torched and scattered
APPEARANCE
Fangs- Vampires have two sets of fangs. One set of pronounced canines being a defining feature on a vampire, one set of retractable fangs located in front of the canines with which they feed. Both sets of fangs are razor sharp.
All vampires have pale versions of their human eyes. You can roughly guess the age of a vampire by how pale their eyes are. Vampires who’s eyes appear white are well over 1500 years old and it is better to just not piss them off.
All vampires are a few shades paler than they were when they were human but not any more than anyone who could not go out in the sun.
PHYSIOLOGY
Vampires are not dead. They are undead. Vampire hearts beat, very, very, slowly (about once per minute). They bleed if cut or stabbed, albeit it is very difficult to cut or stab one.
Vampires do not need to breathe to live but they must breathe to speak and so most turned vampires maintain the habit of breathing.
Vampire females go through a reproductive cycle once every 100 years. It is very difficult for them to conceive and the children rarely live beyond the first day. (admin approval mandatory)
They enter a mating frenzy, extruding irresistible lust pheromones, and will copulate with as many powerful male vampires as possible for the best chance of reproducing.
Blood born vampires thus have several fathers with the female choosing one as her Prime Mate who will help her raise the child.
Vampire children are vampires from birth. They must have blood to live and have all the advantages and disadvantages of adult vampires. They grow to adulthood at the same rate as any human but stop ageing between ages 25 and 30.
To become a turned vampire, one must be drained of blood then fed the blood of the vampire who would be maker. The two must then sleep in the ground together from sun-up until sundown for the child to successfully rise as a vampire.
FEEDING
Vampires feed on people, not animals; animal blood cannot sustain them. A vampire must feed every day but requires only a few ounces of blood under normal circumstances.
A vampire bite will not kill someone unless they are sufficiently drained of blood, nor will it turn someone into a vampire even if they are drained to death.
After feeding off a human, they will usually prick the end of the tongue to lick the puncture holes closed. The secret healing properties of vampire blood in tandem with the coagulating properties of their saliva will leave not even the faintest of scars. A human with a bite scar has been marked as the property of another vampire and it was left on purpose.
Food will make a vampires sick for weeks. It will sit in their stomachs and rot making them smell like rotten food until its gone. They can eat and then puke it up but there is no way to get it all out. Plain and simple, vampires do not eat.
Vampires do not ingest human food of any kind, not even alcohol or coffee. A Vampire will feel the effects of any drug/food that the human whose blood they consumed was feeling. For example, feeding on a drunk human will intoxicate the Vampire; feeding on a human hopped up on too much coffee will have the same effect on the Vampire. This goes the same with any other drugs. Bathsalts are not allowed on this site, we have enough creatures running around trying to eat everyone’s face.
SLEEPING
They must sleep underground or within stone walls, floors and ceilings.
The older a vampire is, the more they can resist the call of sleep once the sun has risen. They will however suffer 'the bleeds' as blood leaks from their various orifices. A newborn CANNOT stay awake during daylight.
Just because they are asleep, doesn't mean they wont wake up if disturbed.
Some vampires who can stay awake during daylight work for the VSF, Vampire Security Force. During daylight hours, VSF officers wear protective armour known as 'Sun-suits' to shield them from the sun's deadly rays.
ABILITIES
Have average strength of five men, although the older the vampire the stronger they are. A 200 year old vampire cannot defeat an 800 year old vampire in a fight; they would be promptly smashed to bits.
Speed is unknown as vampires tend to move in a blur when needed.
Their skin in impervious to anything that does not have some kind of supernatural force behind it. Codeword is sanguineous. Humans cannot scratch them or cut them unless they are using wood or silver and even then it requires considerable effort.
Can crawl on walls.
Heightened senses.
Compulsion. But to use this ability for a long period of time will weaken a vampire and to be used you must ask an Admin/Mod before adding it to an app and the vampire must be over 200 for it to be applied to.
Vampires 500+ very rarely obtain a unique psychic ability. For now that power is limited to the Magistrate. If you really want your vampire to have one, then ask Admin/Mod for permission.
VAMPIRE BLOOD (V)
Vampire blood can do many things for a human. First, it has healing properties. This is a closely guarded secret, most vampires even keep it from their human lovers. If you have a character that is any other species from vampire and they know about it, they better have a damned good reason and admin approval.
The reason it is kept a closely guarded secret is that Vampire blood will make a humans stronger, faster, more alert, have keener senses, even if it is for a short time. When concentrated it can make the person taking it go into a euphoric state where everything is better, especially sex. For this reason, Vampire blood is on the black-market in the form of IV. It is a concentrated mix of blood and aspirin, sold in a red powder form and either ingested or snorted. Anyone caught selling or in the possession of IV is executed on the spot unless the vampire whose blood it is can be identified and located to ensure that he/she was not killed for it. That Vampire will be dealt with accordingly.
WEAKNESSES
Silver has an acid effect on the body of a Vampire. Enough of it will cause them to go into the sleep of the dead. A vampire bound with silver cannot escape. A silver knife, dagger or stake cannot be removed by the vampire victim himself.
Decapitation or a strike in the heart with a wooden stake/arrow will incapacitate a vampire and may cause them to enter the sleep of the dead.
Vampires are not immune to the Zombie virus and those who are bitten by Zombies or Slags will become Slags themselves the next time they enter their day-sleep.
Consuming Lycan blood will make a vampire violently ill for days.
Vampires are not infernal creatures and as such crosses, holy water and the other trappings of the young god's faith have no effect on them.
DEATH
The only way to kill a vampire is to burn it and scatter the ashes. Be wary, they must be incapacitated long enough that they cannot put the fire out.
Sunlight will destroy them because it will burn them up.
They do not disintegrate, explode or shrivel up when killed because they are not truly dead unless burned up.
