Jack blushed profusely and looked away. His eyes darted around him expecting people to come out from hiding places and laugh at him, beat him up, take his clothes and leave him humiliated. He refused to look at the angel again. It would be like every other time. She would begin laughing at him any minute. And her, he could not kill for she was an angel. His soul reached for her but his mind rejected her.
You need to kill someone. But not her…
“I know not her!” Jack snapped softly to himself. He realized she had addressed him but she was not laughing. “Yes, yes,….Jack, call me Jack.” He said shyly. He could not face her now. He had made a fool of himself and he did not know why. “No questions, thank you, much better now.” He reached for his pants and hugged them to himself, still not looking at her.
Stop acting like a fool!
Jack groaned and hid his face with his pants. He didn’t know why he was acting like this. He was terrified, mortified and humiliated all at the same time. The wizard was right, he needed to kill someone. He needed to feel strong and powerful again. The angel made him feel weak because his soul…his soul wanted to be near her. “I think I shall like to put on my pants now.” He said softly. He could feel the knife in his pocket, he longed to take it out and rub his face on the blade and caress the cold steel. “Thank you for helping me.” He whispered. “Angel.”

Valene watched Jack now curiously as he stopped looking at her. She frowned a little wondering if she had offended him somehow. He seemed like he needed comfort or reassurance, and she wasn't sure how or what to do without further offending him. Feeling the turmoil in the air her eyes trailed over him seeing his almost defeated stature. " Are you sure your ok?" Her worried expression shifted as she moved closer to him. Her hand had been about to brush his shoulder lightly in reassuring gesture when she frowned lightly. " Alright Jack. I will step out so you can get dressed. "
The awkward situation seemed to trail on. She sighed dropping her gaze as her hand dropped back by her side having never reached the destination of touch upon his shoulder it intended. " I will go see if your papers are ready." She stopped as she reached the door looking back. " You are welcome Jack. Hopefully, we will see each other again without you being injured or sick next time. " Nodding her head, she stepped out leaving him to get dressed.
Pausing outside the door she glanced back at the room she had left him in. There was something there something that pulled her back, but she felt he needed the time to get himself dressed embarrassed after reciting such beautiful poetry. The night had dragged on, and she noticed that it was slowly becoming morning. Her shift would be ending soon. Gathering his paper work she would head back to his room.

Jack didn't move after she left, not for a moment anyway. He had to think. Was he going to pass up this opportunity? He could not stop thinking about how her skin felt on his fingertips. She was alive, warm and oh, so soft. His fingers itched to touch her again. The smell of infection wafted from his trousers to his nose and he wrinkled it. There was no way he was putting those foul smelling things back on. He got up and threw them in the trash can by the door. He stood there in his boxers, looking around until he saw a cabinet that was labeled "scrubs". It only took him a moment to find a pair his size.
Once he was dressed, Jack sat down on the gurney he had been laying on. He was trying to think of something to say but he couldn't. The wizard seemed to have abandoned him for the moment. "Come on Wizard, help me out here." he whispered softly. He looked up when the beautiful angel stood in the doorway. She had hair like fire and eyes like ice. Frankly, it gave him a hard on to think of running his fingers through that thick red mane of hers and brush his lips over this cheekbones that were dusted every so lightly with pale freckles. He was becoming obsessed with the idea of making love to her. This was unlike him. Usually he didn't want to make love to a woman until he had killed her, but he wanted her alive. She was one woman he could never harm. He just wanted to touch her, kiss her, make love to her. Even if it couldn't last, why couldn't he have one moment of bliss?
"I want to apologize for my queer behavior earlier, it must have been the shock from having such a terrible wound." he said amiably. "Will you have a coffee with me?" He asked shyly but offered his charming smile that set the hearts of the most anxious at ease. "I would very much like to...get to know you." he added conversationally. He was the type of man who could have a billion sinister things going on in his head but the world would still veiw him as a saint with the innocent boyish expressions he was the master of.

Valene had lost track of time she had been looking over his file making sure that all was in order. The fiery red locks fell over her shoulder coming to hide one of her crystal blue eyes. Slender delicate fingers lifted to brush the tendril of hair back into place. Tucking it behind her ear. There was a part of her that hated the thought of going back in the room. She felt she might have made him uncomfortable more after his poetry, and he would have disappeared. Was she scared? No he seemed to ease that worry from her for now. The boyish charm and looks oddly enough had put her at ease, for the moment. There was something about Jack, it made her curious to know more about him. However, she had learned earlier tonight that boyish good looks and charms were dangerous to her. Even if it was a moment of weakness from her over stressed healing. His voice caught her off guard and amiably slid over her form giving her a bit of a shock at the change in demeanor he had from so earlier before.
For a moment, she stood there contemplating what he had said and asked before she finally spoke realizing she had been smiling a little and nodding already committing herself to the moment. " It is no problem. I really enjoyed your poetry to be honest it was beautiful like I said. " Full lips the tint of pink were seized by her teeth pulling the lower lip in for a moment, clearly a thoughtful expression. Finally, the lip was released and the faintest pink of a tongue could be seen peeking out to moisten the lower tier of her mouth once more. " Well it is your lucky day. I'm off shift now. I just need to hand you these." She offered him the papers of release. " And I am all yours. A cup of coffee would be wonderful." Her hands shifted up the sliding over the coat styled like most doctor's jackets. " We have the cafeteria, unless there is somewhere else you would like to go."
Leaning against the wall next to the open door, she watched him. Waiting to see what he might suggest, or if he wanted to stay here. Already she knew Betty would give her a hard time if she went to the cafeteria with another man again, but she believed she was on her best behavior and would be able to keep her rampant empath abilities under control now. Her gaze slid over his form. Now that she could see him outside of a patient and not someone she needed to tend to or heal as he seemed perfectly fine and healthy. Her curiosity seemed to consume her. He was attractive, but she had no clue what was going through his mind. However, she really wanted to know suddenly. "So what kind of a Doctor are you Jack? Or do you work here? I umm.. I am sorry I'm a little new if I should have known you I apologize ahead of time."

Jack didn't want to stay in the hospital any longer than he had to. Especially since his plan was to charm her into carnal adventures with him. Since she was an angel, that might be a bit of a challenge but then he always did like the thrill of the chase.
You're playing with fire. You must not hurt this one.
Jack knew that. He didn't want to bring down the hosts of heaven on his head. It was bad enough that he was guaranteed to go to hell when he died. He enjoyed killing too much to ever get into heaven, but he had no intention on hurting this angel. He just wanted to touch her. He didn't know why.
"I would rather take you somewhere...nice." he said in a charming tone. "An angel deserves to be treated like an angel. Is there any place you would like to go, I have credit scripts that can be spent anywhere." He didn't answer what kind of doctor he was. That, to him, was not important. All he was willing to offer was, "I am retired doctor. So, just call me Jack, aright?" he smiled again.

Valene would have to agree she wasn't one to want to stay within the confines of the hospital, especially since she just got off work. However, she worried about the sun a little as well her delicate fair skin always seemed to burn more when she was out for just a few seconds sure it healed, but the pain was still there. Glancing to the windows she smiled. " I'm not a really picky woman. How about you surprise me?? "As she hadn't sincerely found a coffee shop, she preferred over the other anywhere. Besides she wanted to be anywhere than where she was right now. The lab coat would be tossed to a passing nurse. " Hang that up for me please Donna?" She spoke to her as the woman shook her head and continued on her way. "This way." Motioning for Jack to come with her as she moved towards the exit.
Yes, she noticed he hadn't answered what kind of doctor he was, but she accepted that, for the moment. " Retired hmm? You seem rather young to be retired, but I can see how the job would get to someone." She glanced back to the hall of the hospital like she was missing something. "Jack, Alright Jack it is." He kept dousing her, with compliments, and she blushed. " I'm not that special." Shy and a little embarrassed at his charming ways. Her gaze shifted down watching her feet as they moved. " Please don't expend too much I'm a rather modest angel, I take pleasure in ordinary things. Your company is already a great pleasure."
Finally, with the fresh air hitting her, she was relieved, they were outside the doors. The faintest rays of the sun peeked through the buildings dancing over her skin with luminous glow. The glint of her vibrant red hair glowed as well almost a hint of a halo illusion given. She sighed stretching and revealing in the feel of the fresh air and no more sterile hospital air around her. If she could have she would have stretched her wings it would have felt great. Glancing over to Jack she smiled a different woman now more alive as she linked her arm to his shyly. The slender curl of her fingers brushed his arm. " I'm glad I was able to heal your wounds. You seem to be doing quite well now." Her gaze shifted down his form, and she found she was attracted to him the more she got to know him. He seemed charming and smooth.
Free hand shifted up brushing her copper-colored locks back from her face as a slight breeze pushed them around. Nervous and unsure of what to talk about. Realizing she had taken freely to just touch him how she may she pulled back. " I'm sorry I wasn't thinking. " Yes and you weren't thinking earlier tonight when you had gotten in trouble with the vampire, and his intended human. Mentally scolding herself still for that one. " forgive me for that intrusion. I wasn't thinking." She blushed now as she looked out over the scenery while they walked leaving the Hospital.

Jack knew she would leave with him. He could tell she was not immune to his charms but he was not used to using his charm for something other than luring a wanton woman into a dark alley where he could kill her before having his way with the body.
He wondered what it would be like after all this time to be with a living, breathing being who might actually enjoy his touch. He wondered if she would make sounds of enjoyment, would she wiggle and move while he did his best to pleasure her. He couldn't wait but he knew he would have to at least romance her a little.
The angel's arm linked with his was too much to ask for. He looked at her arm linked with his and smiled. Then just as quickly as she linked her arm with his, she took it away. Her apology was invalid. She should be apologizing for taking her arm away, he frowned a bit before reaching for her hand and linking his fingers through hers. "It wasn't an intrusion." he said softly and gave her hand a light squeeze, "I like you." he added with a slight blush, "Can we make this a date? You know, like a real date? I haven't been on one in a very long time. It's not easy being single."

No she was not immune to Jack's charms. He seemed to make it a natural thing to be close to him. Smiling in thought a slight blush formed on her features. Until she felt the disappointment that tinged the air around him. Curiously, she opened up her empathic abilities to see if he was being nice or truthful about wanting her near. Completely nervous as to the situation she was stumbling into. Biting her lower lip as she felt guilt almost for causing him disappointment she did not pull away when his fingers linked through hers. " I worry things are not the same as they use to be. It's been a very long time, and I have found sometimes my actions are not warranted or welcomed." It gave her a rush to feel the want of her and her touch that came off of him.
"A date? I haven't had one of those in a long time as well. A very prolonged time. " If he knew how long he might think she had opted to become a nun but, tonight had been a night of many breaks in that option hadn't it? She forgot of the earlier worries from the night and looked at this as a new day. As he said it wasn't easy being single she glanced to him. Shifting her arm so their hands stayed entwined, but she could lean into him once more her free hand came to brace against his arm as she gently traced a pattern over his shirtsleeve with the touch of her other hand. " Then I hope this date goes very well I would hate to disappoint either of us."
She would lean over and kiss his cheek lightly. "And on that note, you can call me Valene or Val. Which ever you prefer." Her innocent way she curled to his arm all of it was in the gesture of a woman who looked forward to getting to know someone and spending time with them. Her fingers tracing the small circular patter on his arm, Gently caressed shows that already she enjoyed being near and touching him. The attention seeming to go to her head gave her a euphoric high mixed with his own desire and emotions that filtered through the air.
"I have an idea. How about one of the cafes down the strip here. Then again, you may have a better idea." She was curious where he might lead her and what might happen.
(Permission to manhandle now.)

Jack was feeling a little nervouse and confused about his feelings about the angel. He was a veritable monster. He could feel the sinister presence inside of him. The evil he felt was his addiction to causing pain and killing women who were wanton and loose with their affections. Women who charged men to touch them, women who took money to make a fool out of an innocent young man then leave him to bullies to be beaten and left naked in a garden shed then forced to walk home that way in the cold winter winds. He still felt that overwhelming humiliation when he remembered the incident, it still haunted him.
Jack!...snap out of it!
Jack did snap out of it. He could feel the angel lean against him and her light touch drawing patterns on his shirt sleeve. He hoped he wasn't getting the wrong message. He was having a hard time not acting like a love sick fool. All he wanted to do was kiss her at that moment and he wondered what she would do if he tried to. Hearing her name was music to his ears. He never knew the name of the women he stalked, murdered and had his way with. He didn't need to know their names. Val was different, her name was important to him.
Jack stopped walking and pulled back on Val's hand just a bit to stop her from walking. He turned and looked at her. "Valene, what a lovely name." he said softly, searching her eyes for something; some kind of sign that she would allow him to kiss her if he were so inclined, which he was.
He saw a timeless beauty within those beautiful orbs, he wondered if his age would make any difference to her. It shouldn't, considering she was born at the beginning of time. What would it matter that he was born in 1858? He would never tell her who he really was but his age might help him as far as her thinking he was far more innocent than he was. "Val, I want to tell you something." he breathed, "I am not as I appear to be. You see I am 212 years old. I am cursed with immortality as far as I know. I just wanted you to know that I am not a young man. I was born in England in 1858. I just want to be honest with you." he lifted his hand to her cheek, still searching her eyes, "And I should like to kiss you, if I may be so bold." It had been a long time since he cared enough to be a true gentleman.

Valene had missed the confusion that seemed to ebb and flow off of Jack while he was lost within his thoughts and struggling in his mind. However, his nervousness seemed to cause little butterflies to dance within her stomach and cause her to be a little shy. She found she liked the comfort he gave her and lost herself in the walk they were taking not really caring if they kept walking or made it to the cafe by now. Still embarrassed over the earlier mistakes of her discretions in the cafeteria of the hospital, she was worried that the attraction and nerves she felt were the wrong empathic feelings. She just isn't trusting herself at the moment to read the right signs that he enjoyed her company and wanted her around. In that moment exactly how lonely she was hit her, and it caused her to be a little dazed.
It had been too long she had avoided not only others like herself, but she had closed herself off from anyone. There was someone long ago. Another angel but when she left he stayed, and the thoughts of him had faded with time. It was only moments like this that she felt... Lost.
When Jack stopped walking and pulled back on her hand she turned. Her dazed walk sent her back reeling as she came to stop facing him. Her hand braced lightly on his chest, and her other still holding his hand. " Thank you, I like when you say it. " She enjoyed the chill that went down her spine as he spoke her name. Her eyes searched his as well. They were gentled and loving welcoming while she watched him. Her fingers shifting on his shoulder where her hand had come to rest tracing the angelic runes that ran through her mind keeping her calm.
When he said he wanted to tell her something she frowned a little at his seriousness had her worried, and her heart began to thunder in her chest. Was she reading this wrong? What was he going to tell her? Several questions ran through her mind, and she started to shift her hand sliding slowly down his chest. As he started to talk about not appearing what he was. She became confused her gaze shifted down his form taking him in as if she expected him to change into something else. When he told her his age, she smiled the clear happiness, and relief slipped into her eyes. A shake of her head and a soft laugh. "You scared me Jack. I thought it would be something else. " Her gaze shifted down shyly then lifted back up. " Oh Jack you must feel so lonely." Her hand shifted up to brush against his neck and cup gently to his cheek. " I'm so sorry you have had to live through all of this for so long." He was loved no matter what, who, or where he came from. Nothing mattered in the eyes of the angel. All were loved it was who she was.
When he spoke of wanting to kiss her. She felt that nervous butterfly dance began again in her stomach. Her voice was lost. Did she dare to do this? Tongue peeked past her lips moistening them as she shook her head. " Yes, You may be that bold. " Her previous transgression forgotten, for the moment, she decided why deny him this after all he was treating her as a gentleman should and she herself was better in control. She shifted closer to him her hand sliding around to the back of his head. As her hand released his from having been holding it and came up to join its twin behind his head. She waited patiently to see if he would follow through or not.

OK, so she didn't care about his age. Well, at least she knew he was not some schoolboy in comparison to her age. He had at least been around the block a thousand times or two. It just made her all the more appealing. He leaned his face into her hand. Yes, he had been lonely without real love in his life but was he even capable of real love. Of that, he would never know. He had never been truly loved, nor did he know how it felt to love someone. You cannot miss something you never had. Perhaps he would never know what it felt like. Then again, if he did feel it one day, would it not just hurt that he had been without it so long? He didn't know.
"Valene." he whispered and lifted his hand to her cheek. He slid his hand to the side of her head, lacing his fingers through her beautiful hair. "You have no idea what it means to me to have permission to taste those lovely lips." he leaned in slowly and brushed his lips against hers just once and closed his eyes. That was not enough so he brought his lips to hers, slightly parted and pressed lightly. He opened his lips just a bit more, not daring to probe her mouth with his tongue as badly as he wanted to. He broke the kiss and looked at her, searching her eyes again. Did she like it? Did she want to do it again? God knows, he did.
Jack realized he was visibly aroused and hoped she did not think he was a pervert for it. He was a pervert but she didn't need to think that. He was trying to court her before having her body. He wanted this to be something to remember. Normal sex with a lovely lady who would live to tell the tale. He wanted something he could look back on and know that he had it in himself to not act like a monster if he didn't want to. The fact that she was an angel ensured her survival. He could never hurt an angel.
He fidgeted just a bit at his arousal, "My apologies, dear lady. I seem to be a bit more infatuated with you than I thought. My body betrays that." he murmured.

The thing most did not know about angels save for what they were taught in churches, schools and history books was their ability to love, unendingly. All things were cherished, Young, old, weak, strong, beautiful, ugly, etc . it never dampened the love an angel had. She was not privy to the past of Jack, but the thought that he went so long without others or even seeing someone that he loved dearly die. That thought plagued Valene and caused her heart to break. It truly crushed her emotions, and she found a single tear trailed down her cheek in pain for him.
As his hand lifted to her cheek, she closed her eyes leaning into his touch. The gentle slide and caress of his finger tips caused a slight part of her lips allowing a gentled shaken breath to slip past. Feeling his fingers lacing through the flaming hued locks of her hair, she smiled. " You honor me with flattery and praise, but I feel that I am honored to share this moment with you." her words whispered lightly only for him to hear. As his lips brushed to hers gently she found she was hungry for more. So his second brush of lips was met with a soft sigh of pleasure and returned tease of lips. As he pulled away she shivered in a clear sign of pleasure. Her lips lifted into that serene beautiful smile that reached her eyes and seemed to light up the brilliant blue with an inner glow.
She wanted to kiss him again. It was or would be apparent in the gentle way her tongue teased out to taste her lips. Her arms had encircled his neck, and fingers toyed lightly upon the back of his neck tracing a soothing pattern of angelic runes there. Yes, his arousal was apparent, but she shook her head when he apologized for it. " There is no need for your apologies Jack." Her smile formed and shyly she glanced down to her feet as she stayed close to him. " I find myself feeling rather drawn to you and infatuated as well. "
This time she lifted lightly on her tip toes as she brushed a gentle kiss to his lips. A slight tease of her tongue just to taste his lips, then it was gone once more keeping the kiss chaste yet, a bit more sensual. The nip of his lower lip from her teeth grazing it given just as she pulled back. " Forgive me but I did not want to risk not having the chance to do that one more time. " She smiled then as she gave him a little room. " What shall we do now? I am off work, and yours for the day." Her smile having never left her face.
Valene was oblivious to his darkness. It was hidden well and when she probably should have run from him. She didn't. Even though he did not harm her as an Angel, there was still the danger of her past repeating its self without her even knowing it.

Jack didn't want to do anything but kiss Valene over and over again. His lips already felt the loneliness of parting from hers. They longed to reunite in a lovers union. He closed his eyes and took a breath as she moved away.
"To be honest, Valene, I would like to be alone with you." he said softly, "But first, I believe I should buy you breakfast. You must be tired from working and hungry. Let's go to the Pit Stop and have some pastry and coffee." he said with a smile. "I like their apple pastry and I know that a caravan came in with a shipment of apples recently." he knew that because he yanked a caravan whore from the ladies of the night that followed the caravans, and killed her.
It had taken him hours and she had begged him to stop, offering him sex for life if he only stopped. But when she laughed and called him a fool, he had killed her then had his way with her. He shook the thoughts away.
Jack entwined his fingers with Valene's again and gave her a little tug. He held her hand lightly so she could pull away if she wanted to as he walked toward the little coffee shop on the corner. He liked the two men who ran the place. They were so in love it was hard not to smile when seeing the two of them together.
He opened the door and waited for Valene to enter before following her in.

Valene felt the blush creep up her cheeks as Jack spoke of how he would like to be alone with her. " Yes, I would like that as well, but I feel as a proper lady, I should get to know you a little better as well So Breakfast would be wonderful." When he said she must be tired indeed he was right. " Yes, I am a little tired and feeling light headed." As well, she could feel the heat of the sun as it started to peek through buildings.
As she listened to him talk of apple pastry her mouth began to water slightly. " That sounds wonderful. I can't wait. " Moving with him then towards the door of The Pit Stop and slipping within the protection of inside. " How did you know of the apples?" Her thoughts danced to the first moments of man, and she still smiled when she heard the religious beliefs that it was an apple that Eve had taunted Adam with and not the actual seeds of a pomegranate.
Stepping within the doors she smiled and waited for Jack, Once he was inside with her. She couldn't help but slip her hand to his entwining her fingers. The desire for contact with his skin was there as they moved to stand in line at the counter. The smell of the apple pastries danced over the counter and seemed to envelope the room. Her stomach actually growled lightly, and she quickly braced her hand there with a soft laugh. " I'm sorry about that I have a tendency to forget to eat sometimes. It just sort of slips my thoughts when I'm busy in work. " Now that she thought about it. The only thing she had to eat was what Jackson had gotten earlier for her. She really should have gotten a more substantial meal.
"Where would you like to sit?" She wasn't sure if they needed to wait for a hostess, or if they could just sit themselves. If they ordered there at the counter or what. It was the first time she had been in the pit stop and was finding herself looking curiously about the room.

Valene had said that the sun bothered her so, as much as Jack liked to sit in the window and watch people, more like stalk them, he moved to a table away from the sunlight and pulled a chair out. "Here, love, you sit here and I will order for us." he said with a happy grin. He was on a real date. He couldn't remember being on a real date that he didn't plan on ending with murder and necrophelia. It made him feel almost giddy.
I'm staying out of this one.
Jack stepped to the counter before mumbling, "You do that." then greeted the man at the counter with a sheepish grin, "Four apple pastries and two coffees." he looked over and Val and smiled. What if she prefered tea? he looked back at the man, "Better give me a tea as well, cream and sugar on the side of each." that way she could choose which she wanted and what she wanted in it. He paid for the items with New Vegas Script, getting a raised eyebrow from the man at the register for the amount he had and he merely winked at him.
The other man who was standing behind the first one with his hand rested on his shoulder, lazily dragged his hand down his partners back and moved to the coffee decanter. It only took a moment for the two to get the order ready and placed just so on a tray. Jack loved how in love these two seemed. He wondered what it would be like to feel that. But, he never would so he ignored it. He carried the tray back to the table and placed it very carefully. He put one of the cups of coffee in front of himself and smiled at Valene. His boyish smile was completely adorable. A gentleman never ate or drank first so he placed his hands in his lap and waited for Valene to take the beverage she wanted and her pastry.
