The shocked and gormless looks that the two men exchanged boggled Jackson even further. Did they really not....? Could they not just see...? What with everything else that was going on at B6, all the deliberate screw-ups and omissions, and they had done this monumental cock-up BY ACCIDENT??? Jackson was momentarily speechless. With this level of rank stupidity prevalent they wouldn't even have needed to try to sabotage the construction project... up-side-down... unbelievable! Engrossed as he was in the altercation, Jackson didn't notice the carefully aimed, stinging jibe that drew Teirnan away from his side, separating the two of them.
Jackson was bellowing but it was the manager who was turning purple in the face. The heavier, older man might have gone a little to seed but he was still mostly muscle albeit with a growing paunch and that muscle was tensing up as he balled his fists in rage. “You listen to me you jumped up little vampire cock-sucker... “ he yelled before lowering his voice some to hiss tauntingly in Jackson's face, “...your kinky boyfriend ain't here to defend your ass so this is how it's gonna go... you sign off on the changes and I don't kick your pretty-boy ass into the middle of next week.” and he sneered.
Kinky boyfriend?!?! Jackson was never big on thinking before he spoke and he was even worse at thinking before he acted... No-one was going to get away with mouthing off about Danviel like that... he was the City Planner and they would show him some damned respect! Such blatant and violent anti-vampire sentiment was the highest degree of stupidity in New Vegas but Jackson was too angry to wonder at why the man had so wantonly provoked him and he had thrown the first punch before he even realised what he was doing. ”I'm not gonna fire your ass... I'm gonna bury it!” he snarled.
Jackson's rage had made him careless and while he struck the man solidly in the gut he left himself wide open to the punch the other man launched even before his own blow had connected. The large, dirty fist smashed into his jaw splitting his lip and sending him staggering back unsteadily. He spat blood out into the dirt. Jackson's thoughts were finally catching up and racing wildly as he tried to clear his head. Who the hell was this rabble-rouser and how on earth had he managed to get onto the construction crew?
He realised then that Teirnan wasn't beside him any more, but he didn't have time to spare to look around for her to see where she had gone because the movement he heard behind him told him he had already been flanked. This wasn't going to be a fair fight and the sharp punch to his kidneys sent a wave of nausea through him. With a sick feeling he realised that no-one else would have seen that last punch; the man would look like he was actually trying to help Jackson ...and everyone had seen him throw the first punch.
“You are welcome T,” Joey mumbled as he struggled to recover, not quite unconscious but clearly seeing stars. He didn't bother trying to get up; she would probably only have punched him again anyway when she turned saw what he had just pulled her away from.
This was a whole heap of trouble with a capital 'T' and Jackson knew now it was gonna hurt like hell and that was if, and it was looking like a big if, he got out of this at all. He really should have been afraid, but being Jackson he was just getting more an more pissed off...

The lovely day had Danviel smiling. The sun that would have killed him in the past would only sunburn him now but not before he got to go out in it and enjoy it for a short time. He liked his little solar/electric car that had been fitted with a UV protective coating on the windows. It was the perfect thing to get around in because it bought him more time in the sun when he was out of it.
He pulled up to Jax's office and walked in. It didn't surprise him much that Jax was not there. He worked very hard and was always out with the crews doing his part and making sure all the designs Danviel dreamed of and slaved over became a reality. He loved Jax for that. He was informed as to the location that Jax had gone off to, wondering why the woman seemed edgy and confused. He chalked it up to the fact that she just saw the city planner, a vampire, out in the daylight without sun armor.
It was a short hop in his car to the site and what he saw when he got out was disturbing. Everything was wrong. It was like he just stepped into the twilight zone and not the one the sparkles. But despite his work being vandalized, there was something else, something in the air. Just then a feeling of extreme unease came over him. "Jackson." he whispered just as the scent of his lovers blood invaded his senses.
Instantly, Danviel's eyes went feral and his fangs clicked out. In a blur he was standing in what would have been an entryway to the area where Jax was surrounded by the men who should have been working for him. The site and smell of blood on Jackson threw him into a rage. With a feral roar that shook the rafters, Danviel saw red. The man with the blood on his knuckles disappeared from Jackson's view first.
The rest of the men looked around, surprised. "Oh shit, he has a mutant on his side!" one of the shouted and tried to run.
Danviel hung the man in the scaffolding from a protruding beam where he screamed in pain from the thing poking him in the back as he kicked. Two seconds later, the man that was trying to run, disappeared from his path and ended up hanging next to the first one.
Suddenly Danviel in front of Jackson, cupping his face with his hands. His face was still feral, his teeth extended, his brow more defined but his eyes softened at the site of him. Nothing fatal, nothing to maim his beautiful lover, but there was blood running down his chin. He leaned in and licked the droplets gently before pulling back. He turned to the other men and hissed savagely before moving again. One by one the men disappeared, as they tried to run they were captured and hung up with the other men.
The one man who was near the woman, whom Danviel did not know but sensed she was a friend, grabbed her and tried to hold her as a hostage, shielding himself. It didn't help him one bit. He never saw Danviel but he felt his arms break then found himself hanging from a beam.
The last one left, a big one, who did not run but had stood in a ready stance, screwed up his face in anger. "Come on big boy! You think you can take me?!" he roared. Danviel appeared in front of him an hissed savagely again. He grabbed the man, as if to take him but found that the man's feet were stuck to the floor. He felt like he weighed 3000 pounds. Danviel looked up in surprise. "Yeah, I'm a mutant, just like you." the man growled then tilted his head slightly, "But what kind of mutant are you?" he asked curiously, "No matter 'cuz you're a dead one." he snatched Danviels hand before he saw it coming and stabbed him in the chest with a silver knife.
Danviel gasped and looked down at the intruding weapon. Silver, he was allergic to silver, but it would not kill him. He turned his feral gaze up at the mutant, "That tickles." he growled. The look of surprise on the mans face was classic. "Not a mutant, vampire." He turned in on the man, in seconds, Danviel's claws were embedded in the mutants thick trachea.
Slowly the man fell to his knees then backwards onto the floor, grabbing for his neck. There was no stopping it as blood spewed out like a water fountain. Seconds later, the man died.
Danviel looked at him. As he realized the fight was over and Jackson and his companion were no longer in danger, his adrenaline ebbed and he stood there in the shock of the moment for what seemed like an eternity. He held his bloody hand in front of him and turned to face Jackson. He started to speak, "I didn't mean to..." he began to stammer but felt an incredible pain in his chest. He looked down at the knife that was now protruding from him. He touched it lightly with his fingertips then looked at Jackson again, "Ow..." he whispered then abruptly sat down on the floor.

“You are welcome T,”
Belinda's head whipped back around from where it started to turn. Her temper was still flaming hot and in a pique she gave in to uncalled for behavior and snapped out a kick to the bottom of Joeys foot. He bellowed to her satisfaction as pain shot up his leg into his hip. She could hear the chaos of the fight in full swing now and once she finally turned saw the city planner.
He looked so menacing that she found herself stepping back instead of forward to help Jackson. OK yes she was a girl and well that look on anyone's face was sure the scare the bejesus out of anyone. He moved so fast it was hard to track except for the sounds of pain and pissed off construction workers.
Men her and her father had worked along side of for most of their lives. She didn't understand why they would do this to a building. Thick hands grabbed her from behind squeezing a yelp of pain from her as they bruised her arms. Belinda didn't even have a chance to retaliate and the man that came to Jackson rescue also came to her's. The snap of bone was loud in her ears as she stumbled forward out of harms way.
He moved of again and rounded on the last one standing. The scene that played out would more then likely haunt her for days. The city planner tried to lift the guy but it was if he was wielded to the ground. Things got even uglier when he pulled a knife and stabbed the city planner.
She turned away from the sight of gore. It wasn't that she had issues with blood, na she could handle it well enough it was the sheer violence that made her a little queasy. Belinda watched as he sank down into a sitting position and managed to move. "Jackson he needs medical? I.. we should call this in.." she babbled unsure of where to start even in her rattled state of mind. Things needed to be taken care of. The yells from the hung workers were causing her to flinch as they grew more louder and gained in intensity.

A few seconds after the kidney punch hit him was when it really started to hurt. Jackson sank to his knees as his blood pressure went crazy, struggling to catch his breath past the lancing pain in his back and the light-headedness that threatened to overwhelm him. He knew what was happening to him and thankfully it wasn't in his nature to freak out, but that was one hell of a dirty punch and he would be lucky if he wasn't pissing blood later, always assuming there was going to be a later. Jackson finally caught a breath; if he hadn't passed out yet he probably wasn't going to so he needed to get the hell back onto his feet before one of those idiots worked up the courage to put the boot in. That was when he heard the roar...
The sound echoed through the skeleton of the building, bouncing between beams and rafters until it was impossible to tell just where it had originated. Jackson had never heard anything like it in his life, and clearly neither had any of the other construction workers who were hastily looking about with expressions of fear and dismay. Jackson however was too busy getting his feet back under him to waste precious time like that; whatever it was could wait for now. He was still on one knee when the man who had punched him in the face vanished from in front of him in a dark blur, and that was something Jackson had seen before.
Despite everything else going on around him and the raging pain in his back a small smile crept onto Jackson's lips; “Danviel?” he mouthed silently, not yet having quite recovered himself enough to speak. He was back on his feet, if a little unsteadily, by the time the second man vanished and then Danviel was there before him like a vision. Jackson's eyes immediately found his, his whole face lighting up just as it always did at the sight of his beautiful vampire. He didn't even seem to notice the feral cast to Danviel's features, just the soft light in his eyes that was all for Jax. Danviel cupped his face and Jax grinned with pleasure; he wanted to tell Danviel that he was fine but right at that moment it would have been a lie.
He made a tiny moan and his body shivered as Danviel licked the blood from his face; his senses were still reeling as Danviel hissed and blurred away towards the remaining antagonists. Systematically, one after another, they were apprehended and incapacitated, each adding a new note to the wailing chorus hanging from the beams. As Belinda stumbled toward him, released quite suddenly from her would be captor he reached out with a hand on her shoulder to steady her, and himself also. “s'alright” he gasped, trying to reassure her, “s'alright... now he's here...” and his intense gaze returned to Danviel as he confronted the big mutant.
Jackson found the breath to cry out in dismay as sunlight flashed from the blade that was suddenly in the mutant's hand and he could only watch in horror as it completed its deadly arc and embed itself in Danviel's chest. He was already moving towards the pair before he was able to register that Danviel had barely even reacted to the knife. Jackson was far from thinking straight at that moment and was left lurching forward in a daze as the blood fountained up from the mutant's throat, spraying a good ten feet into the air in several sharp pulses before it began to ebb.
The mutant was covered in blood, Danviel was covered in blood, even Jackson himself had not entirely escaped the spray of gore, moving towards them as he had been. The mess was however the last thing on Jackson's mind as Danviel turned in seeming slow motion towards him, a look of shock and pain on his beautiful face and abruptly sat down hard on the floor with a small pained cry. Somewhere in the distance a gaggle of voices were now screaming like banshees but Jax didn't give a jot; all he cared about in the world right then was reaching Danviel.
The sun was still high and hot, not something that even his Danviel should be trying to deal with in his injured state. Out of the sun... Jackson had to get him out of the sun. “Danviel...?” he almost whimpered as he dropped down on one knee beside his vampire, brushing one strong masculine hand to Danviel's cheek. “Can't sit there...” he said forcing half a smile, “gotta move you... out of the sun.” and he put his arms under Danviel's armpits and pulled him back a few feet into the shade of the partial building before slumping down beside him with a gasp as the renewed pain in his back momentarily took his breath away.
Turning back to face Danviel he carefully ripped the vampire's shirt a little more to see better exactly where the weapon had entered his chest. The flesh around the knife was looking discoloured and papery, blackening and beginning to peel away where it touched the blade. “Oh hell...” Jax cussed softly and looked plaintively into Danviel's face. “I don't know what to do... Do I pull it out? Do you need blood?” Jax hated feeling so weak, so confused and helpless; if there was a vampire first aid course out there he was damned well going to find it and take it.
Belinda's voice finally penetrated his daze, she was alright and her words slowly sank in. “Medical yeah...good thinking.” he muttered; the VSF had to be on their way by now, surely? But they wouldn't know that there was an injured vampire on site... He saw her flinch and briefly followed her gaze to the dancing puppets hung above them. His eyes flashed briefly with anger at them. “Let the VSF deal with them.” he growled; he had shown his anger a few times around the site in the face of laziness or stupidity but never before had Jackson been so furious.

Danviel felt like he was going into shock. He locked eyes on Jackson as he came to his side. He leaned into the hand on his cheek then nodded when Jackson told him he had to move. The sun was already beginning to take its toll in his weakened condition. He planted his feet as Jackson pulled, and pushed with what little strength he had. He grunted in pain and shuddered violently as his body settled down once again.
Danviel looked down at the silver knife when Jackson mentioned the thing that now jutted from his chest, “Yes, out is good.” He whined but tried to sound brave. He reached for the infernal instrument of pain but as his fingertips touched the shiny silver hilt they sizzled and smoked. Danviel cried out in pain. “Jax…my Jax… you have to… pull it…” he pleaded, hoping Jax was not too freaked out to do it but Jackson always took things in strike, not getting freaked easily. “You…need my blood, will heal…kidneys.” He gasped and threw his head back, shuddering in pain. “You…Jax you need to heal… I need blood, not yours… you don’t have it to spare…I have been greedy.”
Danviel didn’t know where the woman went and his senses were spinning but he knew he heard sirens in the background and prayed to whatever god there was that it was the VSF. “Only killed one…no humans…they are safe…you….you and her…you are safe…” Another wave of pain shot through him and he grunted, “Oh God, please pull it out…” he whined. He hoped Jackson understood that he was to pull out the knife then sample the clean blood that came from it. Danviel didn’t know the extent of his injuries but something was off. If anything had ever happened to Jackson, that would be all that Danviel could handle for the time of his existence.

She barely nodded at Jackson's reassurances. No, she didn't think anything was going to be alright. His cry of alarm went right through her. It was turning into a blood bath, her stomach heaved violently and she swallowed to keep from being sick. They both were splattered with blood. Belinda blinked and swiped at her clothing. It only smeared it and got blood on her hand. Seeing in there did not help her almost settled stomach.
She turned and lost the contents of breakfast and her mid day snack. Belinda wasn't even going to pretend that didn't happen. It did, she was fine now. Mostly. Jackson was tugging the city planner out of the sun and into shade. How he had strength left amazed her. Her own knees and legs felt as if they'd been turned to jelly. She scuttled closer hoping that she might be able to do something; what she did not know, just something.
Her eyes widened as Jackson growled. It was so unlike him; but then this whole mess was unlike anything she'd seen. Ever.
He called him Danviel and she found herself sinking to her knees next to them both. It was hard to listen to them. The care for each other was totally evident. As Danviel told Jackson that yes he needed blood but not his she bit her lip and coughed to get their attention.
"He can take from me." She offered and held out her arm for him. It wasn't going to be the neat and tidy way they took blood at the clinic but well. He saved her life and she would never forget that. If he needed blood well she had it to spare. It had been almost two weeks since her last donation so she would be fine. Her father and mother always had taught her to repay kindness shown. Well saving ones life went way above a kindness. She didn't want anything to happen to Danviel. It was so obvious that Jackson loved the man beyond just friends too. She felt like she needed to help them both.

Jax jumped slightly as the vampire cried out again when his fingers touched the knife. The handle was silver too? That was just sick... Well if Danviel wanted Jax to pull it out then hell yeah Jax was going to pull the filthy thing out. “Yes, yes I knew it was going to be alright as soon as I saw you...” Jax murmured reassuringly. “You are my white knight...” he tried to smile at Danviel, attempting to keep the mood positive as he absorbed his instructions. He was confused by what Danviel wanted him to do but the vampire was lucid and he was clear enough about what wanted.
The gentle cough to get his attention came as a surprise to Jax who had to all intents and purposes forgotten that Belinda was there at all. The look of abject gratitude in Jax' big blue eyes when she offered her wrist would have melted the heart of an ice statue. “Thank you...” he gasped, his voice cracking with pent up emotions as he spoke. The tiniest twinge of jealousy tried to surface that Danviel was going to feed from her and not him but it never made it; Jax was just too open for those kind of selfish feelings. “Danviel... I'm gonna get it out now. She said you can feed on her.” Jax wanted to be sure Danviel had heard Belinda's offer, knowing he wouldn't feed without being invited.
Pulling out the blade went against the grain being a damned fool thing to do to a human but his Danviel wasn't a human and Jax trusted him implicitly. He tried to get a firm grip on the hilt but it was too smooth, metallic and slick with blood; it seemed pretty solidly lodged in too. Cursing under his breath Jax pulled the muscle shirt he was wearing over his head with a wince and used it to wipe the knife, wrapping it around the hilt to give him a better grip. The blade had gone right through the breastbone, a wound that would have shattered a human bone but the silver blade seemed to have almost melted its way through Danviel's chest...
He knelt up, straddling Danviel's lower body to get the needed leverage, and grasping the knife with both hands he pulled hard. For an awful moment nothing happened and Jax strained harder, muscles flexing as he grunted with the effort. He was far more concerned about getting that damned thing out of his Danviel than with the pain in his back, in fact it didn't seem to be hurting nearly so much now. Something in the back of Jax' mind was telling him that was not necessarily a good thing but he had priorities. Having removed his shirt, what was now obvious to anyone but Jax was the ugly, bloody stain rapidly spreading under his skin.
Suddenly the knife shifted and in an instant it slid free accompanied by a gush of blood. Jax slapped one hand immediately over the wound to stem the flow of blood as he hurled the knife angrily away from him. Quickly he added the other hand, not wanting to put anything else near the wound given that Danviel was going to have to regenerate it; if Jax had remembered anything about religion he would have been praying at that moment that his vampire could heal from this.
As it was he was starting to feel muggy and light-headed; was he supposed to be doing something else now? He sought out Danviel's eyes in confusion and those beautiful dark orbs gave him a moment of clarity. He lifted one crimson covered hand from Danviel's chest and without breaking eye contact with his vampire for even a second he raised it to his lips and popped the bloody fingers into his mouth.

With trembling hands, Danviel gently took Billie's arm and guided it to his lips. He looked at her thankfully, making eye contact, "This won't hurt." he said as he leaned on her mind just enough. Being bitten did hurt, even if it was a pleasurable pain when one was making love, it was not pleasurable to just be bitten by a vampire when not at the height of lust. "Sorry..." he whispered for his intrusion but he didn't want this to hurt her. His fangs clicked out and sank into her wrist, into the artery. His eyes turned back to Jackson as he drew three quick mouthfuls. He nodded at Jackson to let him know he was ready but continued to drink slowly.
Danviel saw a flash of light beam from the wound as the knife was removed the quickly covered. It was a curious thing but he knew where it had come from. It was his sunshine, inside his body from the mutant. While it made him feel uncomfortably warm quite often, it was worth being able to go outside during the daytime. He was grateful for it.
Jackson smelled wrong. Danviel needed to heal him but he could only do that if he was healed himself. He nodded knowingly at Jackson when he popped the bloody fingers in his mouth. That's exactly what he meant. Whatever damage was done would not get worse for now. He knew Jackson needed more though. He could feel his chest healing in on itself quickly and stopped drinking from Billie's wrist. He removed his fangs and licked the holes so they would heal then gave her hand a squeeze and smiled softly at her, "Thank you." He said and released her.
Now Danviel's attention went to Jackson, "I need to you drink some of my blood, Jackson. More than what is on your fingers." he lifted his own wrist to his mouth and bit into it. He knew he didn't have enough human blood in him yet and this would deplete him again but Jackson was about to die. The smell of internal bleeding was invading Danviel's nose, making him feel a panic.
Before Danviel could put his wrist to Jackson's lips, several VSF troops ran in, pointing guns and shouting. "ON THE GROUND! GET ON THE GROUND! GET AWAY FROM THE CITY PLANNER!" Billie was grabbed as was Jackson who was forced face down on the ground. Danviel hissed and his face went feral. "He's MINE!" he shouted and lunged at the officer who grabbed him. Jackson was immediately released. "You fools! He's injured! The ones you want are over there!" he pointed at the men hanging from the rafters by the scruffs of their necks the quickly gathered Jackson into his arms. His wrist had already healed so he went to bite it again but he heard a familiar voice.
"Get a medivac here for humans, a paddy wagon and a someone from body recovery, looks like a dead mutant, we have multiple perps and a vampire injured. I need two slaves immediately." Danviel looked up to see the face of his old friend Mathias behind a tinted face shield. "Imagine the look of surprise on my face when I received the call that the city planner was traipsing around in the sun." the man with no sense of humor made a valiant attempt to be funny. "I got this." Danviel's wrist was pushed away and he didn't fight it. He knew with Mathias being older, his blood would be more powerful. The crisp click of fangs and the pop as they entered flesh as almost arousing. "Come on child, open your mouth." the soft soothing voice from Mathias was directed at Jackson as blood dripped over his lips.
Danviel stroked Jackson's hair and smiled at him, "It's ok, he's a friend, he is very old. Please, I can't lose you." he pleaded. He had lost two loves so far in his life, if he had to, he would turn Jackson if that's what it took and Mathias would not hesitate to help him dig the hole.
"Someone get this woman a blanket and some water, medivac is on the way." an officer with the words Sergaent written on his helmet called out. Danviel could hear the apologies and inquirys about what happened directed at Billy, but for now, he was only worried about Jackson.

She wasn't sure what it was going to feel like. She nodded as he tried to comfort her and then grew puzzled by the feel of his intrusion. Her eyes widened as his fangs sank into her arm. The pressure didn't hurt, it was just that pressure. Her eyelids fluttered closed as she knelt beside him and tried to keep relaxed. It did not seem all that long that he drank of her, before letting go and his attentions turned to Jackson whom was not looking well at all.
The thundering footsteps heralding the arrival of the VSF; startled her and she gave a cry of protest as she was yanked away from Danviel and shoved onto the ground. "I.. I didn't... " she stammered. The officer whom held her turned as Danviel bellowed. He only let her go and stepped back as another fully suited VSF took control of the situation and started barking orders. Billie shivered in the shade afraid to move for being shoved again. Today had become a whirlwind nightmare.. It was all together too much. She watched as Jackson was given blood and couldn't help the shivers that kept shaking her. Shock was settling in, she supposed.
She could only stare blankly as a sergeant called out and helped her up. "Pleas just let me sit.. I don't think I can stand." She said weakly. It was pitifully human of her but her whole body felt like a giant limp noodle. She answered questions and nodded in affirmation when the questioner pieced things together correctly. "He was magnificent in dealing with that mutant.. my father never knew.. it will devastate him." She muttered absently when they asked about the dead body. Da had worked along side of him for some time before his retirement. She was sure that the news of today's uproar would reach him sooner rather then later.
She just sat there waiting for the VSF to tell her she could leave. The blanket around her shoulders did little to warm her up. Watching Jackson and Danviel's moment made her smile a little. They were kinda cute, OK well not cute but it was obvious they loved one another. One day she hoped to have something like that herself.

Jackson found that his eyes were riveted by the scene as Danviel carefully took Belinda's hand and extending his fangs began to feed. It wouldn't hurt? Of course it wouldn't hurt! Even before Danviel had bitten him for the very first time Jackson had not been afraid of it hurting... He had been excited about the unknown sensations, a little nervous perhaps at how he would react to it... but afraid? Of it hurting? That was just... silly. He sighed softly at the soft click of Danviel's fangs extending; that sound always gave him a chubby at the very least and despite or perhaps even because of the dire situation his body was responding automatically.
The odd flash of light as he pulled the knife free was faintly puzzling to Jax but mostly it was lost in the other sparkling flashes of light that invaded his vision as he exerted himself to extract the blade. Danviel's small nod reassured him that he had done what his vampire had intended when he tasted the ensuing blood. The taste of the thick red liquid put tingles along his tongue and a warm flush began to spread through his body. He was still a little baffled at why Danviel wanted him to drink his blood; shouldn't it be the other way around? As crazy as it seemed the whole situation was making Jackson feel quite seriously aroused now.
Danviel had just bitten his own wrist when Jax heard the sudden arrival of the VSF and their panicked shouts. The resultant small rush of adrenaline cleared his head for a moment and he realised what this might look like to them. However his body wasn't reacting how it should and before he could comply with their orders he was dragged forcibly away from Danviel and shoved to the ground. Even dazed he had more sense than to try and fight against it; Danviel had been healing, he would sort everything out. Jackson just relaxed and went with it, given how tired he was starting to feel it was pretty easy to just go limp.
He was glad when Danviel pulled him back into his arms; he always felt so happy and protected there and despite the excitement and his arousal he was feeling so very tired right then that he wasn't sure he had the energy to have gotten back up again. Danviel was talking to someone but Jax wasn't quite following what was said; he just knew that everything was going to be fine now. “I'm not going anywhere...” he murmured dreamily to Danviel, “I love you.” Jackson looked up at Mathias with a somewhat bemused expression but did as he and Danviel bid him and opened his mouth to the trickle of ancient blood.
Things got very confused for Jackson after that point. He could still feel Danviel's soft fingers caressing his hair but that was the only steadying thing about him. He felt flushed and dizzy, hypersensitive to everything around him and the burning pain in his back returned with a vengeance which caused him to arch in Danviel's embrace and cry out in shock and pain. The pain however was fleeting and he relaxed again into Danviel's arms panting a little for breath but otherwise quite miraculously non the worse for wear. He looked in bafflement between Danviel and Mathias, “I... I'm not gonna become a vampire now am I?” he asked earnestly, his expression so far beyond confusion as to be comical.

Danviel continued to stroke Jackson’s hair as he drank the elder vampire’s blood. He knew Jackson would be fine the moment the first drop of blood fell into Jackson’s mouth. He was envious of that taste of blood and licked his lips at the thought of it. He had always burned a desire for Mathias but everyone knew he was A sexual, having no desire for anyone in that manner. Sometimes he wished he could be that way but every time he fed, he got a boner, especially if it was Jackson he was feeding on. In fact, if it were Jackson he was feeding on, his erection was so fierce he had the possibility or tearing his britches.
He kept his nose close to Jackson’s neck, keeping track of the scent and strength of blood flow. The smell of kidney failure and internal bleeding seemed to clear up incredibly fast. A smile crept across his face a Jacksons impeccable innocence remerged.
“Only if you wish for me to drain you and lay in the ground with you from sunrise to sunset.” Mathias offered in a way that told Danviel he meant it.
“Mathias, he is mine.” Danviel said respectfully.
“Yes, of course.” Mathias replied without emotion.“Die Liebe besiegt alles.”
“Ja, herr Levique.” Danviel shifted Jackson so he could sit up, “No, Schatzi, this is not how you become a vampire.” He said softly, “If you ever wish to accept the gift, you have only to ask me, but I would never turn you without your permission.” He added. He meant it. After this, he was afraid of losing Jackson even more. He looked up as the medics came in, one rushing to Billie and one rushing to Jackson. He felt something wrapped around him and saw that it was a thick black cloak. “Oh, my god, the sun, Mr. Koenig, how are you still alive?” he ducked as the hood was pulled over his head.
“I’m not sure, perhaps the angel blood I consumed earlier.” He looked up at Mathias who gave him a look that said he knew he was lying but he only said, “Let’s get him into a portable blackout casket and take him home.” Danviel only nodded.
He looked over at the medic with Billie and frowned, “That human is under my protection.” He called to them, “Treat her as you would a claimed human.”
“Yes, Sir, Mr. Koenig.” The medic answered.
Danviel moved out from under Jackson and stood up. He walked over to Billie and crouched in front of her with a smile, “I owe you a thanks. If you ever need anything, you have only to ask.” He told her and took her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.
Danviel didn’t notice that Mathias had followed him as the casket was brought in. “In you go Danny.” Mathias said and nudged him towards it. He knew to keep his secret he had to comply. He looked over at Jackson and blew a kiss at him, smiling reassurance before climbing in the hi-tech coffin and letting the lid be shut on him. The moment he was inside and the door shut, he succumbed to the call of the sun.

((It's been more than two weeks, and this thread needs to move forward. Skipping Belinda...)) Jackson's head was clearing fast now, fast enough for him to give a wide eyed and boggled look of amazement to Mathias as he described how he would turn him into a vampire. He didn't follow most of the brief exchange that then passed between Mathias and Danviel but given the magnitude of what had just been said to him he felt he really aught to say something to the VSF Chief in response. “No thank you... Chief Leveque... Sir.” was about the best he could manage given the rather flustered situation he found himself in but it pretty much covered it he thought. The smile on Danviel's lips told him that he had said something the vampire had found funny again. Jax liked it when he made Danviel smile, even when he wasn't entirely certain what it was he had done to cause it. Danviel's smile was infectious and he found himself grinning back as Danviel sat up. He wasn't even entirely sure what schatzi meant but it was all in the way that Danviel said it. “Danviel?” Jax murmured to him; he had worried Danviel and now he needed to reassure him somehow. But before he could think how to say it the medics swarmed in. He would much rather have gotten up and followed Danviel as he wandered over to Teirnan with the 'vampire medic' still buzzing around him fussing with the cloak come fire-blanket, but the human medic who had taken 'custody' of him wasn't having any of it. Given that he was still feeling a little over-exerted it was easier just to watch and wait than argue. Danviel was being taken home and Jax waved cheerily to him, grinning like a cheshire cat at the blown kiss. “I love you!” he whispered quietly in return, knowing the vampire would hear it, and watched as Danviel disappeared completely into the rather daunting looking casket. Jax let out a tired sigh. It was always like that for him when Danviel left a room, as if the sun had just disappeared behind a cloud. He quietly endured the poking and prodding of the medic that it seemed he did not actually need now and watched the vehicle pull away until it vanished from his view. That was about when he realised that Chief Leveque was looking at him again. He wondered if he was supposed to give a statement to the VSF too now or if they already had all they needed. He guessed he was going to find out soon enough, though he really hoped they didn't ask him anything difficult about Danviel... Tearing his eyes away from the vampire Chief when he realised he was staring, Jax glanced quickly around himself. Things seemed to be quieting down again as the officers did their jobs with precise efficiency. He could see no sign of anything he had been carrying and couldn't for the life of him remember what he'd done with it when the fight started. He realised too that his shirt had vanished; it had probably been bagged up as 'incident evidence' along with the extremely unpleasant silver knife. He shuddered at the thought of what had happened to his Danviel and what might have happened. Jax just wanted to go home now; the site was going to be closed until the VSF had finished their investigation and even then it would remain mostly so until he had seen the new site status report. His eyes found Teirnan again where she sat hunched and huddled under a blanket; she didn't look like she was taking it well. He hoped she wasn't broken from this because he was going to need her. He wasn't looking forward to needing to tell Danviel just how big a mess it all was; he felt bad that he hadn't seen sooner how Danviel's beautiful designs were being sabotaged here. A soft rush of air beside him had him turning towards it curiously to see which of the vampire officers it was and what they wanted him to do so he could leave and get back to his Danviel.

She was feeling better after drinking a full bottle of water. The medic kept taking her pulse and asking her how she felt. It was actually starting to get a little annoying. She'd just watched a terrible fight and a man get his throat ripped out... how the hell was she supposed to feel. Like dancing? Belinda started giving non committal answer's to just pacify the man. They had copied all of her information on what she'd seen. "I'm fine ok. Just let me up. I want to go now. Can't you just let me go?" she asked with tiredness making her voice seem petulant and whiny even to her own ears.
Her head snapped up when she heard the dulcet tones of Danviel's voice telling someone him to treat her as he would a claimed human. Belinda's eyes grew huge as her mouth hung agape. Did he just claim me? she squeaked, What the hell does that mean? The medic in front of her chuckled and glanced at the healing bite mark on her wrist he just finished checking on with a pointed look. Her other hand slapped over her mouth as it dawned on her she'd spoken aloud. Her father was going to kill her. It wasn't that she didn't mind the vampires.. they were a decent sort. But claimed. What the heck had she gotten into. He needed blood to heal, she glanced at him and Jackson together they were clearly lovers it was so obvious she blushed. But he said he claimed her. Didn't he just tell her anything she needed.. what the hell. Did she miss understand what he'd meant? Belinda's thoughts were in a whirlwind of new confusion. The left side of her eye started to throb slightly with a the dull beginnings of a headache.
They finally let her up and she stood off to the side as the black box that now held Danviel was moved into a transport. It soon began to become a bit quieter if that was a good term for how things were being rapped up. There were teams of two vsf removing each of the body's that thankfully were alive and kicking down from how ever Danviel managed to pin them up. Their cusses and mutterings were just distant rumblings to her now. Been there heard that just a few moments ago actually.
She could feel someone watching her and looked up to meet Jackson's eyes. She gave him a eh? sort of smile and little nod. OK so this was a bad start of a new better position. But, well uncovering a HUGE espionage group set out to destroy and deter the work of New Vegas was not something she was going to encounter ever day. Was it? No, joking aside she didn't think so. They would get to the bottom of this and work would begin again with more trustworthy crews. Once word of this got around anyone that was stupid enough to think of rebelling really needed their head examined.
An officer was talking to Jackson as she made her way over to him. "Excuse me Jackson sir, before you go. I um I'll be back tomorrow to start getting this sorted out if that's alright with you, that is." She offered. What she saw and what happen wasn't going to change over night. Though as soon as she got home to her little bungalow she was going to tap into that bottle of Scotch and take a very long soak in a hot bit of water. She wasn't a drinker or anything but well Da always said a nice cuppa Scotch soothed rattled nerves. Her's were beyond rattled and in major needing of serious soothing. At the moment, at the very least.

Mathis watched the display of emotion between Jackson and Danviel with no emotion. While he thought it was endearing, Mathias never betrayed emotions in his face. It was a trait his father taught him. Emotions can get you killed and are meant for only yourself and maybe the one you love if you are absolutely certain you trusted them. Oh, and by the way, never trust anyone, especially those closest to you.
He heard the woman’s spoken thoughts and shook his head at the ignorance of the statement. While he knew that some level of secrecy was important, in case the day ever came that they needed to disappear into the shadows once more but this kind of thing was ridiculous. He walked as she joined him and Jackson and smiled at her in a friendly and understanding way. He shook his head and put a hand on her arm, “No, no, this is a crime scene and you will take the day off tomorrow, with pay. Both of you.” He stated simply. He looked back at Jackson, “Go home and take care of your mate.” He commanded, “He will need to see that you are safe in his arms once more. He waited for Jackson to go and when he didn’t move he locked eyes with him and leaned on him with his mind, “Nothing is more important at this moment than getting home to Danviel, safely. You will let one of my officers drive you home.”
This time it seemed to do the trick and he motioned for an officer to escort the man. Now he locked eyes on Belinda. “Listen to me very carefully.” He said softly, hypnotically. “The City Planner was never here. You did not see a vampire out in the sun without protection.” He continued. He was careful not to lean hard enough to give her a headache but hard enough to wipe the memory. “There was an incident here. One of the men was part of the resistance. He was going to blow the place up, but you caught him and turned him in. Several men have been reassigned due to negligence. You brought this to the attention of Jackson Nickelby and were promoted. You are a heroine and this was an amazing day for you. You are going to celebrate your amazing day. You even have tomorrow off.” He spun and twisted her memory of what happened. He suddenly broke his stare and waited to see if it took. Some humans were difficult to glamour…

Jackson had been almost tempted to laugh himself at Belinda's startled babbling about being claimed. She should be so lucky... was about all he could think of with regards to that. He was Danviel's human and Danviel was his vampire; nothing was ever going to change that, especially not a girl. Jackson could well appreciate the special charms of the ladies; he was no stranger to bed hopping liaisons in his all too short past, but Danviel had more refined tastes than his Jax in that aspect of his life. Danviel was boys or nothing, though it was pretty moot these days and nights; Danviel was the only one for Jax and vice versa.
Mathias spoke before Jackson had a chance to tell Teirnan to just go home. Co-operating fully with the VSF was always the best way to get things sorted as quickly and simply as possible. The building site was the scene of an assault and attempted murder or maybe even Treason, Jackson wasn't quite sure but he certainly wasn't about to get in the way by asking stupid and pointless questions. When things were cleared for work to resume he would be told, and probably by Danviel before anyone else got to know about it. Still when the Chief told him to go home he hesitated.
There was a moment where he was looking directly into those searing blue eyes, the power behind them dulled not an iota by the tempered plexi-glass visor, before he was scrambling to his feet. “I can go now?” he asked his voice filled with a new enthusiasm and urgency to be gone. “Great! I mean... thank you.” and he hurried away without a backward glance, the VSF officer gliding smoothly to his side to escort him away to one of the secure vehicles and expediently to Danviel's door.
