Once again she had gotten out. Out from under Adam and Ruby's ever watchful eyes. She needed to see. Her latest vision had driven her to escape. With her arm curled around her messenger bag she slipped off in the early hours of the day. She felt a little bad about deceiving her family. It was not like she did this very often. Lizards powers were stretching filling her more and more. Being cooped up in a little apartment was not very helpful. Being 18 did not help maters much either. New Vegas was still as the first rays of sun shine were just breaking over the horizon. Her sneakers padded quietly down the side walks as she headed to a place she had not been.
Sanctuary. It was something she had over heard a few of the bakery visitors talking about. They had mentioned a wide open space in hushed tones that sounded so achingly familiar. Without a doubt they had been talking about her latest vision. The tricky thing was trying to hear all what they had said. Thankfully Ruby had been distracted long enough for her to snoop and get most of it. It would take her the better part of two hours walking from home.
The compact streets of the burrow to much more open ones. The buildings were not nearly as close together here. Keeping her head down she kept walking. Every so often though she would look up and gain her bearings. There was going to be such hell to pay if Adam caught her. He had been slipping out more and more himself. At least that was how Elizabeth justified this latest escape of hers. It was not that she thought he did not love her or care. But something or someone had his attention. It was alright. He could not be a father to her forever. She knew that in her heart of hearts. Though the thought of him finding a woman kinda filled her with a little dread. It would no longer be the same.
Lizard heard the quiet music of the birds first. It grew as she drew near. Looking around she crept ever closer to fence that surrounded Sanctuary. From here the view was mostly blocked. Only the tops of the tallest trees gave any hint to the lush green, that lay beyond. There was an opening though. A little rip in the fence that allowed for the adventurous to get through.
Her bag clutched tighter as her apprehension grew. No one would know where she had gone or be able to find her easily once she was in side. She knew this sure as the sun was slowly rising over head. It took her another half hour of poking around the perimeter to find what the two girls had been talking about. Taking a last glance around Elizabeth slipped into the opening of the fence.
The dull almost tired streets of New Vegas she found herself in a sun-drenched verdant field of green. The ground was soft almost sponge like under her sneakers. The smell of damp earth and growing things threatened to overwhelm her. All around grew tiny flowers that she had never seen before. Nothing had prepared her for the beauty and natural opulence of nature. Colors exploded all over the lush lawn. Red, yellow, blue and white all shaped differently. The tall fronds of lavender brushed against her legs sending tendrils of their sweet calming fragrance. It was heaven. Unable to resist. Lizard broke off a few stems of the pale purple flowers and held them up to her nose.
She would bring a bit of this back for Gran. In hopes that she would find it in her heart to forgive her for slipping away. She knew Gran liked flowers and loved any of the pictures she had drawn of them to give her. The hot house flowers that one could buy were always so very expensive and never came close to since fresh as this purple flower was.
Having no name for any of the flowers she admired their beauty and tried her best not to step on any of them. It would not do to crush or destroy something so marvelous. Moving farther into the green she started to look for her vision. A tall tree with drooping branches near water. At times like this she wished she knew the names of such things. Trees such as the one she had drew were not found near her home. Only here in this hidden little world with a world.
Being alone gave her a sense of freedom not found within the burbs. The sunlight scattered itself amongst the leaves. Creating giddy patterns over everything as she kept going deeper and deeper into the forest. Song birds sang and insects hummed going about their own personal routines. Lizard was not overly concerned, for her whole life she had been cooped up and confined. It was time to enjoy this stolen moment of freedom.
Moving a branch out of her way she stared open mouthed in awe as she found her vision. Clear as day the graceful tree stood upright reaching for the very sun above. It's branch's swayed gently. Brushing across the fringes of water. Each movement sent little ripples across the small pond. Lizard sank down unto her knees. Her hands drooped to her sides as she took it all in.

Beau could see the large green area that was set off by itself away from the buildings in the city. His white wings spread out so he could glide lazily over the area. He could see the people below him, some were looking in the fence as if they were trying to see something but trees and shrubbery seemed to block their view. Beau continued to fly until he saw what he was looking for; what he could smell a mile away. Then he saw it. Water...
He grinned and leaned into the wind with his body straight and his arms held to his side while he beat his wings hard twice and glided toward his destination. His destination was the waterfall that fed the lake in the middle of the park . He was so hot and thirsty that he landed directly beside the waterfall and stuck his head under it. He turned his head to the side and just began taking huge gulps of water. His body was muscular from head to toe with scars marring his perfect physique here and there.
When he pulled his head away, he noticed he was being watched. He looked up with his tongue licking out to the end of his chin with a "ahhh" then smiled. "Water." he said stuck his head back under. He pulled his head out and looked at his audience again.
He gave them a look like 'What are you staring at?' and stared back. Suddenly he planted his hand on his bare chest. "I Boo." he announced then sat down at the edge of the water where it began to flow into the lake. He looked down at his feet. One was clearly an impressive site with long curved razor sharp talons gracing the end of his toes.
The other was not so impressive. It had a length of dirty cloth wrapped around it. He winced as he unwrapped it, keeping a glancing eye on the person watching him. The cloth seemed to stick around one part of his foot and he winced each time he had to tug a little harder to pull it away.
Once unwrapped, he looked at the smallest talon coming from his little toe. It was cracked and caked with blood and oozed another substance and it looked an angry red and purple, which traveled up half his foot. He stuck it under the stream of water with a quiet grunt of pain then looked at his audience again wearily.
He was ready to fly if he had too but he needed this water and he was going to take it while he could. He reached to the clip on the strap to the knapsack that lay perfectly between his wings and the thing dropped to the ground behind him. He reached back and grabbed it then opened it up and pulled out two canteens and a tattered stuffed Iguana with the name Beau written across it. "Water" he said as he twisted the cap off one of them and shoved it under the water.
He looked up as a small flock of harpy eagles landed in the trees around him and looked at him curiously. He looked up at them and smile then pointed at the water. "Water, drink!" he said happily. The eagles flew down to the edge of the water and began drinking, paying no attention to the person watching. To Beau, that was a very good sign. "Like you." he said as he put the cap on the first canteen and grabbed the other one. He twisted the cap off it and shoved it under the water to fill it. When it was full he put the cap on it and put both canteens away. He picked up the iguana and held it up for a moment, “Liz…eerrrd.” He pronounced the word carefully then pointed at the word. “See…is Boo liz…eerrrd.” He pretended to be sounding out the word, “Booooo.” He quickly put it away.
He looked at his foot again and lifted it out of the water. With the blood and dirt gone, one could see that the talon was cracked all the way to the toe which had a long deep cut in it that extended to his foot. "My owie." he said sadly and pointed at it and put it back under the water. “Zom try eat Boo.”
Beaus stomach growled angrily. "I hungry." he said absently. Two harpy eagle immediately flew away. Only a moment later the two returned with apples and landed in his lap. He gasped and smiled. "Thank you!" he said and took the apples and bit deeply into one.
He looked up again at the person watching him. "Apple!" he said with his mouth full, juices dripping down his chin and held it out as if to offer it. He quickly stuck his tongue out and licked the juice before it could get away as he held the apple out to the person watching him. One of the eagles flew up and took the apple from his hand and dropped it back in his lap. Beau frowned. "No, we nice." he scolded the eagle and picked up the apple and offered it again, "Apple?"

It had been several moments that she had knelt in the cool shaded grass next to the lake. The vision did little to prepare her for what a beautiful place it was. The whole of it was quiet overwhelming. Lizard was going to pull her pad out and just simply draw for the fun of it. Maybe try to capture the pretty little white bell shaped flowers that drooped over. A dark shadow of wings that glided across the water had her pause.
She blinked against the brightness of the sun and shaded her eyes. Something landed near the waterfall she had not even noticed. How on earth did she miss that she wondered as her eyes strained to get a better look.
A man. With wings. Well that certainly was not in her vision.
He was as tall as Adam maybe, she could not be certain. Kneeling was not a good position to judge size from, she thought with a slight frown. He seemed to be enjoying the cool water. It did look refreshing as it glistened off his shoulders. She smiled friendly like back at him when he introduced himself as Boo.
"Lizzy." She said and stood up brushing off her knees. With a flick of her hand she straightened her skirt and adjusted the strap of her shoulder bag. Her fingers tightened around the little bunch of flowers she had picked and she decided to stick them in the side pouch. Hopefully they would not get to crushed in there.
Curiosity won out and she watched him cautiously. Not even in her wildest of dreams had, Elizabeth ever seen someone with wings. They were white as Grans hair. Like snow, she had seen in a treasured picture book. She could not help but bite her lip as she watched him tend to a wound. It was obvious it hurt him. His wince was filled with pain.
She was struck dumb. She had so many questions but was not sure if he would even stay. He moved about and she could see he had a knapsacks like hers. He spoke in short spurts that had her smiling. Boo and the birds that circled seemed to have a kinship. That was so totally cool. "There really big." she remarked wondering just what kind of birds they were. They looked a little scary. Like they could carry off a small animal or something. The boy did not seem to mind them at all though.
He held up a lizard and she beamed. "I'm lizard too, well my nick name is lizard. I never had a toy like that." she told him. The rag doll that Gran made her was not the same.
Her mouth dropped down in shock. "Zombies tried to eat you?"
Didn't people turn into zombies once they got bitten. She swallowed slightly. He did not look like a zombie or well what she drew them like. He did not look dead and all rotted like Adam said they were. He used to terrorize her with tales of zombies coming to get her if she miss behaved.
"Um, Shouldn't you have a doctor look at your owie? Gran always fixes me up when I get hurt." she added with a little shrug of her shoulder. She was pretty handy with fixing up cuts and bumps. Even though the medicine stung a little Gran always gave her a cookie or treat after.
Lizzy watched fascinated that the birds brought him apples. He offered to share one. They did look delicious. She always liked when Adam brought home fresh fruit, though she knew it cost a lot. The farms grew as much food as they could but it was not always easy to get things like that in the burrow. She took a few steps closer and took the proffered apple with a shy smile. "Thank you Boo. I have not had an apple in a long time."
Taking a little bite she savored the crisp sweetness. "Your birds are really nice. What kind are they?" she asked watching as it perched nearby. Up close it was beautiful, not as scary as she first thought.

Beau didn't really know what she was talking about when she asked about a doctor but he liked that she was called Lizard. "Hi Lizz...eerrrd." he pronounced it very carefully as if that was the way he was taught to say it. Someone had taught him to say it a very long time ago.
"Whassa doc...tor?" he asked curiouisly as he watched her walk over to him. "Wassa graaaan?" he was happy to be learning new words.
"Is apple here, bur fine." he said happily and looked at the eagles perched around him, they were notorious for finding him food. "What kine?" he asked as to her questions. Surprizingly he said very clearly, as any adult would ay it, rather than a four year old, "Harpy Eagle." he stated clearly, "Is wha deyz" He kept an eye on the girl as she looked at his birds. "Ama." he pointed at one of the smaller, less colorful eagles, "Apa." he said and pointed to the biggest and brightest of the eagles. "Deys ma frins." he informed her, telling her they were his friends. He put his hand on his chest and smiled, "I'z harpy too." His foot slipped slightly on the slick rock it was sitting on.
He hissed and looked at his foot and made a face. "Is no good, is bad." he whimpered. "Dis no good for Boo." he sat down and sighed then poked at the purple lines and hissed again. "Dis Boo go see Mama an' Papa." he said sadly, "Deys die frum zom, an Boo too now." It was plain that whilst his vocabulary was that of a four yearold who never spoke to anyone but eagles who did not speak back, his mind was that of a mature yet innocent man who knew when things were bad and that in his world, an injury like his could kill him. He had seen some of his friends die of wounds before.

Lizard did not laugh at how he said things. It was to interesting to her. She did however smile and tuck a strand of her hair back behind her ear. "O you know a Doctor is someone that makes owies all better. Heals them." She explained and then wondered how to explain Gran.
"Gran? I guess you could say she is my grandmother. She helped raise me and my brother. Gave us a home and she makes delicious cookies and things." It was simple and true. Gran was a grandmother to everyone though but Lizard knew she and Adam were the only ones that really stayed for a long time.
He told her what the large birds were and she watched them They stayed close enough but still not very near. "They are beautiful. Ama and Apa." she added with a nod to let him know she understood and then looked back at him. Her eyes grew wide as he declared himself a Harpy too.
A mutant. Being kept inside most of her life and away from others she knew that there were others out there. Had visions of some of them. Boo hissed and as she looked on whimpered in obvious distress. She had never gotten so much as a paper cut before and knew nothing of taking care of bigger injuries. It did not look good. "I've never seen an owie look like that before."
She moved closer and kneeled next to him. "It does not look well at all. Your Mama and Papa? Mine are dead too. But not from Zombies." She added a little sad.The died when she was a baby so she really did not have any memories at all, of them. Just what Adam had told her. Pulling her lip in among her teeth she worried it trying to think of how she could help. She did not even know where to find a doctor.
Damn Adam for keeping her so locked up. She looked at the water staring at it as if it would give her an answer. Her face scrunched up in concentration. Who did she know beside Gran that could help Boo. Sadly nobody came to mind. At least not until she remembered a picture. With a little ah ha. Lizard pulled out her note pad and shuffled the pages. In the very beginning of her book there it was a tall man with long blond hair standing in a lake of green only the very hint of lines drawn behind him. Wings. There but not there. Ghost like. Gran had told her that, Angels were there to look out for and protect the innocent. They always helped humans. Well she was not a human, exactly but she was not bad either.
"You need an angel to come heal your owie. Only I do not know where to find one. Well I do not know where anything is or anyone. I sort of ran away today." She explained sinking back down onto her heels. The book held open to the picture she had drawn several days ago. Or there was Gran. Lizzy didn't know if Gran would leave the bakery and then there was that whole explaining to her how she took off thing. But maybe Gran would know who could help Boo. She may not know a lot about things but she did know Boo's injury needed more help.

So, a Gran was a Gramma. Beau understood that. He knew what Gramma’s were like. They could kiss the owie and put a bandage on it and it got better. Then you get a biscuit. That sounded good. But it wouldn’t work. His injury was too bad and his Gramma was in heaven, with the angels.
Beau shook his head sadly, “No good.” He sighed, “No Graaan, no annngel” he pronounced carefully. “Gramma in the heben wit angels.” He picked up the dirty strip of cloth and began to wrap the wound up with it again. “Boo go find sleep and go to angels.” He looked over at Liz and smiled, “Is ok, Boo can see Ama an Apa” This time he was not talking about the birds. He realized that he was very tired and let out a wide, deep yawn. He could not remember when he last slept. From the zombies to the pain in his foot, something had kept him awake.
Beau wondered if finally feeling like he could sleep was a sign that he was going to die soon. He didn’t know. “Sleep be good.” He sighed and yawned again. He looked up at the sky and blinked against the sun. He held his hand up to shield his eyes. It was obvious where his deep dark tan came from. It make his blue eyes almost pale enough to be a vampires. The tips of his wavy light brown hair were bleached white. It had been a very long time since he had even been indoors. He looked down again and looked at where he was. “Boo sleep here.” He said tiredly, “Need fire.” On those words, the flock of eagles flew off, except for Ama and Apa who stayed close.
They weren’t gone for more than a minute when they all came back with varying sizes of dried wood and dropped it in a pile. He reached in his pack and pulled out a flint and steel. He tried to strike it once and he lost his grip. It flipped into the water. He quickly retrieved it but now it was wet. “No fire.” He muttered sadly and sighed again. Beau was feeling very resolute that his life was over.

She could only listened a little stunned. He did not have any one either, well she had Adam but never knew a Grandmother until Ruby took them in. "Boo? If you go to the angels then that means you die, you don't want to die do you?" Elizabeth was shocked at this so much she shivered. He was willing to just lay down and die. She looked to his food and shook her head. No, it wasn't that bad of a owie that he would die from it, or was it. She knew nothing. Pictures didn't show how to deal with this. Adam never showed her anything.
She sat back on her butt and as the birds flew off and brought back sticks and twigs. It was good he was distracted it gave her a moment to think. Adam never taught her how to tend his wounds most the time he came home with just a few bruises and a fat lip or a black and blue eye. This was much more then that. She stole a glance at Boo, he was like a bronzed statue. All sun tanned and his eyes were beautiful. Crystal blue and rather nice. She gasped as the little thing he pulled from his bag plopped into the water and he fished it out.
His sadness made her want to just, well maybe hug him. She had never hugged anyone but Gran and Adam though and was not sure if Boo would allow her to do that. "I don't think you should sleep here. It's not warm enough. I didn't know you could make fire from a... What is that?" She asked. Curiosity got the better of her as usual. He seemed to know what it was and that he could make a fire from it but well it was not something she had seen used before.
She wanted to help him out but did not know how. He seemed so sad and tired now that the little rock like thing was wet. "I might be able to get Gran to come here? My Gran could fix your owwie. She's good with them. She's really nice too. Would you like me to go get her?" She asked hoping he would say yes. Lizard would feel really sad if he just, well if he died. No one should have to die from a owie.

Beau gasped at Lizzys words. She had a Gramma and she could help him. Maybe all Grammas were special that way. If she had a Gramma, maybe she could make his foot better and he wouldn't die from the infection in his talon. "You has Gramma? Gramma is nice!" he exclaimed excitedly and got to his feet. "Boo can see Gramma? She make Boo better! Not go heben." He picked up his bag and expertly slung it over his wings where it landed flat between them exactly in the right place. He flapped his wings lightly to take the weight off his foot then lifted his foot a little and perched on the good one. He winced a little and grinned. He pointed down at his good foot, "Dis one hab stikeeeer." he laughed a little. Ama, the harpy eagle, let out an amused chirp-like sound.
"Ama say Boo a mess." he laughed again, "Is trooo." Stickers and thorns were no problem for Beau. Eventually they would work themselves out and he could pull them out himself. They were always the big sharp ones because they were the only thing that could penetrate the bottoms of his feet. They were tough and calloused because he never wore shoes.
Beau brushed the dirt off his tattered shorts, which were the only thing he was wearing other than the pack and looked at Lizzy expectantly. Then a thought occurred to him. What if there were more humans out there would he be safe? He hesitated a bit. "Hoomans? No hurt Boo?" he asked not knowing that if anyone were to harm a mythical mutant, Thor would have their heads. He was one of the safest creatures in the city. The only reason Thor built the park was because the mythical creatures preferred the isolation, many were shy or just couldn't face the humans any more after suffering cruelty their whole lives. Here in the park, they were free.

Lizzy could not help but grin and nod enthusiastically when Boo made his exclamations about Gran. She was all that to her and her brother, plus a little more. Sometimes she wondered where they both would be if it had not been for Gran. She watched Boo get his things together and giggled a little as his wings flared out. They were really beautiful wings. As he pointed at his foot and said sticker she frowned. "What is a stikeeeer?" She asked him. Trying to mimic the word he had said. Some of what Boo said was almost like another language at times.
His laugh made her chuckle too. His birds knew him well she guessed. "You don't look a mess. Maybe a little dirty but not a mess. Once Gran let me mix batter for cookies and I had flour all over me. That was a big mess." She told him as he dusted off his shorts. The looked more tattered then some of her own things. It really sucked not being able to buy nice clothes, but having to get second hand things or what ever was donated to Gran. She had created her own style out of necessity and often wore mismatched or odd outfits to go with her colored hair.
Today was no exception. She had on a faded pair of tights with little holes here and there, under a three different color skirts that came to her mid thigh. Her shirt was baggy enough that she gathered it up on her left hip and tied it a bit of string. Her blonde hair was streaked with hints of pink and purple that were mostly faded. Adam had not brought home any dyes in a couple of weeks and she was running out. It was pulled up into a messy bun and stuffed under a dark green cabbie hat.
"Oh.. I do not think they would. Humans are not mean like that Boo. But they might want to look at your wings? People do not have wings. I wish I did though. It must be wonderful to fly way up high and see everything." she told him and looked about. Her mouth dropped into a little o. She did not remember which way she came. Everything was so green and pretty.
"Boo do you know how to get out of this place. I. um, don't know how to get back out." Lizzy admitted as her shoulders sunk in defeat. She should have paid more attention. Everything looked so much alike. She did not know where the little hole in the fence might be from here.

Beau had never had a problem with figuring out where he was. It was not a difficult task to get his bearings, no matter where he was. He remembered the perimeter of the park when he came in. He knew what direction the human dwellings were in but he had no idea where she came from. It must have been from there.
"Is good." he said happily and moved so he was standing behind her. He looped his arms around her and gave his wings a lofty downward swoop and shot into the air. It seemed as if her bag slipped so he grabbed it and tucked it against her. "Is good!" he exclaimed as the rushing air drowned out their voices so he had to shout. He flew up far enough that they could see the lay of the land and turned in the direction of the buildings. "You say! You say Boo go!" he shouted over the rush of wind. He liked the feel of the wind in his hair. He also liked the feeling of his strong arms around the girl. She seemed light as a feather and was no burden at all.
"We go see Graaan." he laughed. He was excited. Grandmothers were awesome and he was certain she could fix his talon. He could see his flock flying around them in a protective manner as they always had. It seemed as if Ama was trying to lead him in another direction, out to the desert. "No, Ama, see Graaan." he called to her and she fell in line with the others, taking up her position next to Apa.

She was to busy trying to decipher which direction she came in from. She remembered the purple flowers. Maybe if she found them again she could pick her way back. Boo had stepped up behind her; she was about to turn and tell him what she concluded about getting out.
Elizabeth gave a startled shriek that was soon cut off by a amazed gasp. Boo had wrapped his arms around her and was flying. Holy crap he was flying. She was flying. Her eyes were open wide as they rose swiftly above the canopy of the trees and sanctuary. The rush of wind tickled her senses. The wide open expanse of blue seemed limitless. His laughter caused her to join in. It was infectious. "This is amazing Boo!" Lizzy exclaimed still filled with the utter joy of being flown.
He held her tightly and she was glad all of a sudden as she looked straight down. Oh my. Her belly lurched at the sight. Closing her eyes a moment she swallowed forcing herself to not panic. He needed directions. She had to see. Lizzy opened one eye and looked out at the buildings. If she did not look down directly her stomach seemed to behave. His eagles all swooped about them. They were his family she realized in that one moment. Smiling she pointed to the south west where a group of light brown buildings where clustered. Gran's bakery was at the far end of the street and her and Adam's apartment was a few floors above it. "Those buildings Boo. That is where Gran is." She added loudly. Thank goodness she spent a great deal of her time looking out her window or she might never have guessed where to go.
She stole a glance at the horizon and found herself wondering just what else lay beyond the walls of this city. Lizard knew that many things were out there. What she did not know was if she would ever really see them, or would she only glimpse them in visions and draw them after.

Beau was thrilled to be taking Lizzy for a ride. He thought it was fun to fly and he was pleased that she didn't see frightened. Although the shriek was adorable and made him laugh. He looked in the direction she was pointing and headed in that direction. Since it was down, all he really had to do was glide in a downward angular dive, his wings spread wide. His flock of birds followed suit.
Beau was feeling things he never felt before. He was a little confused by it. He wanted to hug Lizzy to him. He could smell her hair and he wanted to bury his face in it. He liked how she felt in his arms, so soft and delicate. Somehow this embarassed him and he didn't know why but he just went with it. He liked Lizzy and he was glad to have made a new friend. He looked at her face for a moment while in the dive and smiled before looking where he was going again. What made him do that? He liked her...
It didn't take long for Beau to reach the buildings and land. He gently released Lizzy about two inches from the ground before landing. "OW!" he hissed and hopped on his 'good' foot, wincing from the thorn that was embedded on the bottom of it. "Mai feets is owie." he complained. Ama landed at his feet and rubbed her head against his bad foot. He leaned down and put his arm out for her to jump onto, "I know Ama, she want Boo be not owie." he said lovingly and stroked her head. "Graaan will help Boo." he smiled and looked at Lizzy. "We see Graaan now?" he asked.

Elizabeth closed her eyes for a moment or two and just enjoyed the feel of the wind rushing past. She could hear it, as it ruffled Boo's feathers and the soft flap of his eagle's wings as they followed. It was actually kind of quiet way up high like this. Peaceful even. Boo's arms held her tightly and she did not fear he would let her go. They started heading down and she grinned. If only she had her own set of wings, Lizzy thought with a grin.
He let her down and she took a few steps forward as the momentum caught up with her. Lizzy turned in time to see him wince and hobble a little. "Oh, Boo. Are you alright?" She inquired wishing she could do more to have helped his poor feet. Taking a moment she looked left and right to see how far they had to go. Lucky enough they were only a few buildings down from the alley that would lead to the bakery's back door. Something deep inside of her, warned her that Boo would not like it if to many people were near. Intuition or something else she was not sure. Only thing she did know was that he needed help and she knew someone that could do that.
"Come on we can go this way." She told him as she slipped herself under his arm on the side of his wrapped foot. He Was not as tall as Adam was but he had at least 6 inches on her. Part of her just wanted to be closer to him so he would not be afraid. The other part of her, well that just was not sure why yet. She glanced at Ama, " Gran will fix his Owie, I promise," Lizzy told the bird whom looked at her with a tilted head.
Lizzy found herself smiling brightly, her smile even reached her eyes. It made her feel good to do good. If that made any sense she was not sure. For once she was able to follow a vision on her own that had nothing to do with her brother or his gambling. She saw to many things that she could not do anything about and it was frustrating. Making sure she went slowly so Boo did not hurt to much gave her time to think a bit. She stumbled and placed a hand on his bare stomach to steady herself. The head of him caused every nerve in her fingers to tingle and she pulled away almost as quickly as she touched him. "Sorry.. " she muttered softly feeling a little embarrassed. Oh my but his skin was warm and soft, she thought as she stole a glance at him from the corner of her eye. Focus. Yeah alrighty then.
"Just a little further Boo."

Beau had no idea where Lizzy was taking him but he really liked the attention she was giving him. He had no idea why he felt how he did. His own body was perfectly cut like a marble work of art from a lifetime of survival and hard work. Flying had defined his back, chest and torso like that of a Greek god. He liked how it felt so he didn’t mind when she put her hand on him. What he didn’t understand was why she moved her hand. Was there something wrong there?
Beau lowered his hand to where hers was with a confused look on his face. As he hobbled he looked at Lizzy. “Is ok here?” he asked her since he didn’t understand. This game was fun. Even if it hurt his feet, he could fly to keep them from hurting but if she wanted to walk, he would walk. He walked on the heel of one foot and the toe of the other. Every now and then, he would wince.
Beau was impressed with the buildings they were near and one of them smelled better than anything he ever smelled. That one seemed to be the one they were getting closer and closer to until they were standing by a door. He looked at it and smiled. “Is smell yumm.” He grinned and rubbed his stomach. “Yes, dis Graaan’s house” he could not stop smiling.

She tried to keep her pace slow enough but with both of his feet hurt she felt bad. Lizzy sorta wished she could have carried him or something that would take the weight off his feet. Being a girl had it's disadvantages when it came to strength. That and she had a wimpy super power or so Adam teased once in a while. Boo asked if it was ok here and she nodded. "Yes, it's is ok here. Not a lot of people are about." She answered, thinking he was worried about others that may bother them.
The aroma coming from Gran's back door had her smiling. Gran had whipped something up that made her mouth water, it smelled so good. Boo rubbed his stomach and she could not help but laugh. "Yes very Yumm," and Lizzy rubbed her own stomach. It had been a while since she had eaten. Smelling what ever it was that had been baked made her hungry.
Lizzy reached out and opened the door and called out for Gran. She lead Boo inside and found the stool for him. "You can sit here. I'll get Gran. She'll make your owies better OK."
Turning from Boo, she poked her head around the door way to see if Gran was in the front store. Her shoulders sagged with relief as she spotted Gran helping a gentlemen. Waiting patiently for her to finish up she glanced back at Boo and gave him a reassuring smile. She was struck nearly dumb at how handsome was. Wow. His muscles seemed to stand out like they were carved upon his body. Sure she had seen Adam once or twice without a shirt when it was supper hot in their apt. But he looked nothing like Boo.
"Elizabeth?" Gran said her name and she whipped about and promptly lost her balance and crashed to the floor with a soft umph. As Gran made her way over from behind the counter she looked down at Elizabeth with a confused frown. She laughed at herself as her cheeks heated in embarrassment. That was totally stellar. "Uh I meant to do that." she muttered and gave Gran a hapless grin. "Um,can you help me with something in the kitchen?" she added and beckoned for Gran to come back into the kitchen as she got up from the floor.
Gran followed Elizabeth back and found herself looking at a youth with wings. Bless her heart she thought, a real live angel. She looked at Elizabeth and waited for her to explain this situation. The girl had obviously snuck out once again. It was become a rather unsettling habit.
"Well now whom do we have here?" She asked Elizabeth and gave the young man a smile.
"Gran this is Boo, He has owies on his foot and since your the only one I know that can fix hurts I brought him home. Can you please help him, Gran please" she begged softly, knowing that Gran would never turn anyone away no matter what or how they were. Gran always helped everyone out that came to her. Gran also fixed her up when ever she got hurt.
With a slight shake of her head she gave Elizabeth a little hug, "Yes, I'll help as best as I'm able. You go get yourself and Boo a snack alright," before turning her attention to Boo. "Hello Boo. May I take a look at your Owies?" she asked gently.
((( Just going to God Mod Gran into my posts as she's mine.... *little evil laugh* If that's ok? )))
