Beau could feel the healing power of both the angels. It was not long before he felt better than he had in a long time. Its funny how you can get sick over time and never know it until you find yourself healed and realize how long it had been since you actually felt good.
Beau found himself sitting there being looked at by three strangers. Even if two were angels and he met one before a long time ago, he did not know them. They helped him and healed him but...something was wrong...where was Lizzy?He kept his eyes down and didn't make eye contact other than to glance up and see if they were still looking at him then dart his eyes back down. Something was very wrong...where was Lizzy?
Beau looked at the cookies, already feeling a little queazy from the last ones he ate since he was not used to that kind of food. He didn't know how to say no thank you so he just looked away and toward the door Lizzy had exited through. Beau hummed uncomfortably. The tune was an old lullaby he kept in his head from a dream he had about his mother. He looked at the door, then his eyes darted toward the others before he suddenly hopped off the counter and pushed through the door like he had seen Lizzy do.
"Liz- errrd!" he called out. Ama and Apa sprang after him then lead him up the stairs, squawking. They lead him up into a darkened hallway and to another door. He reached out and gave it a push but it didn't budge. This door was different and he didn't know how to open it. He got down on his hands and knees and tried to see under it. He could not see her but he could hear her and smell her scent coming from under the door. "Liz- errd." he whispered.

Archer didn't notice the boy getting agitated because he was distracted by cookies and was taking pleasure if feeding one to Matt. When the boy jumped up and ran out of the room, his chuckled, "Looks like he has a case of the nerves." he said, "He'll be fine." He moved toward the door with a handful of cookies, "We have to go, he'll be fine. We have to be at work soon but call us at the casino if you need us." he offered before giving the woman a quick peck on the cheek and walking out the back door.

Matt had sensed Beau's discomfort at being the center of attention and had deliberately turned away to give him some peace. The talk of cookies was a fine subject he thought and he was laughing as Archer lightly teased him, feeding him the sweet cinnamon tempered delights from his own hand. It was a homely moment, a small and simple pleasure; if only mankind realised just how blessed they still were, Matt mused, anything would be possible for them.
He was not entirely surprised when Beau leaped up and set out in pursuit of the young girl who had so quickly retreated when they had arrived. Glancing upward a moment he could feel the confusion of turbulent emotions from the rooms above. The girl was distraught but not injured, it was a human thing and it was the comfort of her friends and family that she needed, not the intrusion of angels. “We cannot live their lives for them, my love.” he said softly to Archer.
Gently he smiled at Ruby before he too gave her a light kiss on her forehead. With a shy smile he took a few cookies from the plate, “For my twin,” he murmured and then ducking under the lintel he followed Archer's egress.

Ruby knew the boy would find Lizzy once he made his way above stairs. She wondered what made the girl run off but perhaps it was best to ask that another time. Once Archer and his compainon left the kitchen, she bustled about setting it back to rights again and making sure everything was as orderly as she liked it. Disorder was not something she tolerated at all in her kitchen.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Her hand stilled after shading in the last beast of burden. The picture nearly filled the entire page before her, for once in her life she actually wished she had a larger drawing surface. Something that would better capture the image she saw. With her head bowed she took a deep breath and closed her eyes against the throbbing headache. As always her gift came with a price. Taking a few moments to try and ease the pain, Lizzy gave up and rose from the little couch into their tiny kitchen.
The kitchen area was comprised of a small sink, a hand full of cabinets, a very temperamental stove and little box to keep cold things. One whole cabinet was filled with her canisters of coffee from Gavin. She smiled slightly as she remembered the day he gave them to her; as she began to set the kettle on to steep the grounds. Her movements were methodical as it was something she had done over and over again.
Today she felt like the blue mug though and grabbed it instead of her normal white one. It was a dark nearly black sort of blue with odd slash like markings on it. Every so often when visions were especially tiring, she reached for this mug. Just something about it helped her get better a little more quickly. Her fingers traced over the lines as she stood leaning against the chipped formicia counter top.
Lizzy nearly yelped in surprize as a voice whispered her name from under the door? 'Who in the world would whisper under the door?' she wondered before the realization dawned on her. Beau.
"Hold on Beau, I'm coming." she called out before setting the mug down and heading across the room to the door. She opened it and gave him an apologetic grin. "Sorry.. I um had to do something up here. Would you like to come in? This is where I stay with my brother. Are you going to stay in the apartment across from us. I know Gran said it's empty now. " She told him in a rush of words as she stepped back so he could come in with Ama and Apa. Lizzy glanced about the place, glad that it was tidy and not a mess. Sometimes her and Adam could be a little lazy in the house keeping department of life.
Beau was happy to see Lizzy again. For some reason he was drawn to her like a moth to a flame. A flame was right, he felt hot inside every time he saw her. “Yes Beau come, Beau be stay dayr.” He was careful to say his name correctly now since Ruby taught him in her own special way. Beau had an innocence about him but he was nothing less than a man, standing there, bare from the waist up. His shorts hung loosely on his hips, it was a wonder they stayed up on their own. His blond hair was unruly and his blue eyes sparkled with wonder at the world.
Beau stepped inside without so much as a limp. He stepped closer, wanting to be close to her and not knowing why. “Lizzerd.” He inquired then stopped. He didn’t know how to say what he wanted to say. He didn’t have the words but he had memories of words that he was too shy to use. He blushed and looked at his feet smiling. “Beau stays.” He murmured, “Beau like Lizzerd.” He lifted his head and stared at her, then in his fathers voice, he repeated something he remembered his father saying on too many occasions to forget. “Why do you have to be so beautiful. It makes my lips feel lonely.”
Beau blushed again and looked down at his feet. Suddenly Ama squawked and flew up, pushing him from behind. Surprise flashed across Beau’s face as he stumbled into Lizzy. He quickly wrapped his arms around Lizzy to keep either of them from falling. He was suddenly looking into her eyes. “Haha,” he laughed, “Ama is funny.” He looked at Lizzy, the smile fading from his lips. She was so beautiful, the most beautiful thing he could remember ever seeing. “Lizzerd…booful.” He murmured.
Lizzy beamed with happiness. She was glad he was going to stay. Her eyes widened as he stepped in closer and seemed to blush. Before she could blink he was even closer. Her eyes locked with his as he stared at her. It was suddenly really hot in the apartment. Her mouth fell agape a moment before snapping shut as her cheeks turned crimson.
She was speechless for several moments; not knowing what to say in response to what he had said. The heat wouldn't abate from her face and she struggled to think of something. Anything to say to him. The sudden squawk of a bird had her yelp in surprise as Beau stumbled into her. His arms wrapped around her, locking her against his bare chest. She couldn't help but notice it was smooth and warm under her fingers. It made her stomach do a funny flip flop. All she could do was hold on to him to keep from falling on the floor.
His laugh made her shiver as they stayed locked like that. Lizzy swallowed hesitantly at first her eyes meeting his once more. He was extremely handsome. Much more so then her brother, though she'd never say or admit that in Adam's presence. She bit her lower lip. "Your beautiful too Beau." she whispered shyly back to him. She could almost hear the beat of her heart in her ears pounding with excitement. Her gaze fell to his lips and she couldn't help but wonder if he was going to kiss her. She had never had a real kiss. Kisses from her brother didn't count she was certain. "Are you going to kiss me?" She asked, her voice barely above a whisper. She didn't want to break this moment with being loud, but she was to curious not to ask. If he wasn't gonna maybe she would.
