Demons
The war in heaven is still raging on in full force. Almost all of humankind has been destroyed in the apocalypse and the Demons have abandoned Hell to take the battle to Heaven itself. They have laid waste to the Fields of Paradise and many Angels have been destroyed or cast from the battlefield by their furious advance. Many Demons however have become bored with the monotony of battle against their opposing numbers in the Host. They have come to miss the twisted pleasures of Hell and most especially Earth and have deserted the field to indulge their vices again with humankind. Demons believe that humans are toys for their amusement, to be twisted and broken at their whim.
Demons are immortal beings created at the beginning of time. They are creatures of evil, hate and darkness. They were never Human and dead Humans never become Demons. Human souls are simple cannon fodder in the war between Heaven and Hell.
Much has been written by the priests and scholars of Humankind regarding the Circles of Hell but the Hierarchy of the Demons themselves is a fluid and Chaotic thing requiring the attentions of an entire Choir of Angels to merely document it. There are however Seven Princes of Hell each of whom is set in opposition to one of the Sephira of creation and who commands a Legion of Hell's armies. Code Word is ‘anathema’. Leviathan, Mammon, Belphegor and Asmodai are all counted as Princes of Hell.
Beneath them are the numberless legions of hell. There are many kinds of Demons many unique and many more nameless and faceless foot-soldiers of the Legions. Tempters, Corrupters, Defilers, Seducers and Plague bearers to name but a few. All have been commanded to the war in heaven and many have perished at the hands of the Archangels or been cast out again plummeting in a ball of fire down to the ruined Earth. Some of those who survived the fall have found their way to New Vegas.
Leviathan, Prince of Envy; Mammon, Prince of Greed; Belphegor, Prince of Sloth and Asmodai, Princess of Lust are all known to be residing in New Vegas. They own and operate the Hell themed Nightclub, "Hades".
Appearance:
Demons who are on earth have assumed a near human form but are still possessed of several distinctive identifying features.
- They are quite tall to mortal perspective. (6'-7')
- Their eyes when they do not concentrate on concealing them are wholly jet black.
- Their voices are both beautiful and terrifying. They can be used as a weapon instil terror or pain in mortals.
- Their draconic wings appear as a tattoo across their backs and their horns as circular tattoos on their foreheads.
- All Demons have a bastardized mark somewhere on their torso that once denoted their Name.
- They were never born and thus do not possess a belly button.
- They cannot be scented if they do not choose to be until the nose is less than 1cm from the skin. They smell of sulphur and brimstone.
Attitude:
Demons are creatures of evil. There are no 'good' or 'misunderstood' Demons, those are called Angels.
- They enjoy the corruption of mortal and immortal creatures alike.
- There will NOT be any relationships between a Demon and an Angel.
- They hate Angels and will attempt to kill them given the chance with no consideration for collateral damage.
- They look out for themselves and will often have unstable alliances with Lycans and Vampires for the fun of it.
Basic Abilities:
Despite their superficial resemblance to Humans, Demons have vastly differing physical capabilities.
- Have the strength and speed of 5 men.
- Their blood runs black and is poisonous to Vampires and Lycans.
- No mortal made weapon can kill a Demon.
- They cause Zombies to flee from their presence.
- They are not subject to the Curse of Babel and speak all tongues fluently.
Supernatural Abilities:
Self Healing – they have the ability to heal themselves of injury. Consumption of Zombie Virus infected blood makes a Demon temporarily sick with rabid tendencies.
Sense Sin – they can sense emotions in living and undead creatures.
Sense Good/Evil – they can sense the presence of and identify Demons and other Angels. They can also sense places and objects of great Holiness or Unholiness.
Translocation – they can teleport themselves to a place of concentrated evil i.e. a Demon nest.
Telekinesis - they can move objects with their minds alone. This ability is limited to actions that the Demon could have physically performed. An attempt to manipulate an object to which the Demon has a weakness will fail and result in extreme pain for the Demon.
Hell Forged Weapon – All Demons have signature weapons forged for them alone in the fires of Hell and ranging from a dagger to a maul. The weapon manifests as an act of will on the part of the Demon and cannot be lost or stolen. These are the only weapons that are lethal against Angels.
Species Weaknesses:
Salt – Demons, like Angels, cannot pass a barrier of salt.
Silver - Whilst silver cannot destroy a Demon it is painful and can incapacitate them.
Holy Water - Burns Demons as if it were an acid.
Holy Fire - If a Demon touches Holy Fire then it will be destroyed. (Acquiring Holy Fire requires special Admin permission.)
Heaven Forged Weapons – These weapons are as deadly to Demons as Hell Forged Weapons are to Angels.
Death's Scythe - Although it has not been seen, this item is known to have the power to reap any being, whether it be Human, Demon, or Angel.
Small Objects - A demon cannot resist the urge to count small objects such as rice, toothpicks or marbles that are dropped at his feet. The objects must be identical so things such as shattered glass do not count. (Beware, if you use this trick on a Demon, you will piss him off and he will come looking for you when he is finished counting, most likely to brand the number into your forehead, if he lets you live.)
