The thought of her daywalking because he did never occurred to him. He had always felt like he played second fiddle to whatever the flavor of the month was, like a faithful old dog sitting under her table waiting for a juicy morsel or a tasty bone from time to time. And that was another thing, she was the pot calling the kettle black. “So…” he said softly, “I never said I love you and that makes me wrong, and you never made me your prime mate and you are wrong for that.” He continued thoughtfully, “Maybe two wrongs can make a right…”.
Now that his eyes were under control and in no danger of spilling tears, he turned and faced her, the rims of his eyelids still crimson from the threat of tears. “So I said it Angel.” He declared proudly, “I love you goddammit. I love you, I love you, I love you.” He repeated it several times, so she had no doubt that he actually did say it.
“If you need me to say it a million times I will.” He stepped closer and bent once more so his face was in hers. “But I would rather do this…” his voice was husky and seductive. He suddenly kissed her deep and passionately. Not like a sex kiss but a kiss that sent a message of his undying love and devotion. He then broke the kiss, keeping his face only a centimeter from her lips, “Claim me as prime mate.” He murmured softly and tilted his head to the side, baring his neck to her.

Angelique looked at him in surprise at his words. "Did you ever think that if you had told me that you loved me I would have made you my prime mate before now?" She remarked softly. She knew she would have, too. She had wanted to before but in a world that was loveless and cruel she wanted love not just the actions but the words as well. She had stubbornly waited for them. A slow smile started to form. If he only knew that he had always come first but he obviously hadn't realized that if another woman or man had tried to steal him she would have been pissed. Had been a couple times actually. "Yes, two wrongs can make a right every now and then."
She saw him turn to her and face her. She could see that the rims of his eyes were still red from the what she could assume were tears. Was he about to cry because of her? She looked stunned but then she heard his words and the anger slid away as she heard him repeat I love you several times as if to ingrain it in her heart. She placed them in her heart as if a tattoo that would make her feel better always.
"Definitely wouldn't mind millions of times more." She whispered since his face now was so close to her face. But then she heard the husky and seductive tone before he suddenly kissed her. She returned the kiss with a soft purr that was captured by his mouth. It was a kiss that she would never forget. He broke the kiss and she didn't want it to end but she took a breath quickly as he kept his face close to her face. "Bossy..." She murmured as she put a hand into his hair and brought his neck closer to her mouth. "I claim you as my prime mate." She whispered the words like a lover whispering things of love and more to him. Her lips pressed against his neck even as her fangs slid into his skin on his neck and the taste of him touched her tongue. She wrapped her arms about him as if wanting to pull him in closer and hold him there.

This volatile relationship; how would it ever work? Perhaps it was because they both knew everything about each other. Gabriel’s integrity and knight’s code did not allow him to ever tell a lie unless it would hurt someone grievously; not even a lie of omission. Angie on the other hand, Gabriel sometimes thought she told him things just to piss him off and it usually worked. How would it work? Love; for as long as Gabriel had known the saucy little bad girl, he had been in love with her. Now, at this moment, he was getting everything he could ever hope for; a family.
A groan of elation escaped his lips as his knees went weak and he struggled to stay upright. With biting being a precursor or an activity in tandem with sex, it was difficult for him to refrain since she was big with child and due to deliver at any time. However, this small act, however short was important. He could now go to the council with her mark on him and stake his claim, not only as the child’s father but also as Angelique’s prime mate and be able to come out unscathed with the councils blessing. Per vampire law, it was always the female’s choice, no questions asked.
He could at least touch her. He twined his hand into her hair and ran his fingers through the soft tresses that were now strewn about the pillow under her head. “I am now complete.” He whispered as one single tear of joy rolled down his face and he closed his eyes to prevent any more to fall. “I love you.” He added just above a whisper.

Angelique knew she had always caused Gabriel problems. She had a way of pissing him off that no other could claim to and probably stay alive by his temper. Oh, but how passionate he was when that happened. It was like building a fire and watching it consume the two of them. She couldn't help it. It just happened that way and most times it was because she didn't think it all through until after it had been started. But he was wanting something closer to her heart. Something that could be forever. Would that be a good thing or a bad thing? She wasn't sure but she had wanted this for so long. Could he handle forever with her?
She heard the sound escape his lips but she was busy making her own sound as his blood touched her tongue and she felt the baby kick as if he too was thrilled with what was going on. As if he knew what they were doing. She continued to drink enjoying the taste of him as her tongue slid out to lick at his skin and she tried to move closer to him as if her body were reacting to all of him. Her hand came up to run along his back softly. She took a moment to breath in through her nose inhaling his scent as if she could breath him in.
She heard his words even as she felt his hand slide into her hair and her eyes slid closed enjoying the feel but then she felt another kick and grunted lifting her head from his neck with a moan. She laid her head more into his hand and whispered. "I love you too, Gabriel. Always and forever." She smiled some even though she wasn't sure if she would survive the birthing. She hoped she did even as she turned her head and nuzzled her cheek into his hand.

Gabriel heard the air siren indicating the city lockdown for the sunrise and knew there would be no going back to his casino this night. He was glad that the walls in this part of Angie’s place were made of stone, like most of the new buildings in the city so that a vampire could sleep in safety in just about any of the buildings with automatic lockdown.
He knew in her condition, Angie would probably fall asleep instantly with the first peak of the sun over the horizon. “I love you too, but unless you want to sleep in that position, you had better get ready for sleep.”
He peeled himself away from her and went to her dresser. He knew what she liked to wear because he was one who was lucky enough to see her in it often enough. He selected a nightgown he had seen her often and pulled it out.
“We have about 5 minutes before you fall like a sack of potatoes.” He said softly as he began helping her out of her clothing. And like the dutiful man that he is, he did not do it in a way that was seductive at all but in the way of a man caring for the woman he loved while she needed his help. He paused only long enough to rub his hands over her bare belly and lean down to kiss it, “Good night, my son.” He whispered before helping her into her nightgown.
Once she was situated he looked down at her. As her prime mate he didn’t have to ask, he knew he would be sleeping with her. He carefully tucked her in, just in case she fell asleep before he was in bed then carefully stripped down to his boxers and undershirt. He slid into the bed neck to her and pulled her into his arms.
“This is how is should be Ange.” He murmured and kissed her on her ear then her neck, “Sleep, my love.” He cooed as his eyelids became heavy and his breathing began to slow to a stop since vampires only breathe so they can speak. He buried his face in her hair and sighed contentedly before letting himself drift.

Angelique heard the air siren but she didn't want to sleep. She wanted to stay awake to feel close to Gabriel longer. But the pull of the sun was so strong that she could only resist it for only so long before she had to sleep. She knew though that lockdown meant that Gabriel would be here when she awoke or hopefully would be.
But with his next words he pulled away to move to her dresser and she watched as he pulled out a nightgown for her to wear. "Wouldn't do if I slept uncomfortably." She spoke softly at that. She moved to roll over onto her back and looked up at him with a look of confusion. She couldn't even get up to get the nightgown on though and when he came back over to her she wasn't sure how she would get up.
Soon though she was naked before his eyes and she shivered even as she rubbed her eye sleepily. She gave a soft gasp in surprise as he rubbed his hands along her bare belly and kissed it. She gave a bright smile warmed by his sweet nature and his help. She slipped her arms into the nightgown and soon it slid over her with his help. "I do not fall like a sack of potatoes but you must do so for you to say that." She laughed softly at that.
She watched as he began to strip to his boxers and shirt. "If it weren't so close to the sun coming up I would say you wear too much clothing, Gabriel." She felt him soon slide in behind her and was pulled into his arms. A purr slid out of her at the feel of him against her. "Yes, always. You sleep too, Gabriel." And she too stopped breathing and as the sun's rays broke into dawn she slept. The kisses on her ear and neck the last things she felt as she went to sleep pressed into her love's arms.
She slept through the day and as she came back to the living she could feel Gabriel's arms wrapped around her and it felt wonderful to awaken beside him like this. She rolled enough to give Gabriel a gentle kiss on the lips but then a pain slid through her like no other and she gasped. Maybe she had moved too quickly or hurt a bit she thought as she tensed up. Or maybe she was just hungry. She went to try to get up to see if that would help it but then groaned as it went through her again. Her back was really hurting her and this pain was killer. Maybe it would go away. She closed her eyes laying back trying to relax.

It’s a funny thing about dreams, everyone thinks theirs are more strange than everyone else’s. Gabriel thought his were odd to say the least. They weren’t so much dreams as they were Gabriel reliving his past. One may wonder how a man like Gabriel didn’t have children in his human life. He was a very good looking man, sweet natured, heroic, reliable, responsible and honorable. Well, honorable was a bit iffy during that time in his life that was both dark and beautiful.
Gabriel’s king and queen were unable to conceive a child together. The queen, thinking it was her husband begged Gabriel to help her conceive a child. He would not without the blessing of the king. The queen went to her husband and he was named her champion so that it was proper for them to be seen together. Behind closed doors, they practiced the art of procreation. It was not their intention, but they fell in love. Unfortunately, it turned out that it was not the king who was unable to make children, but the queen. Gabriel was ordered to stop seeing her and he did. It was not long after that when the kingdom fell and Gabriel was sent on a quest to find a holy artifact that was supposed to grant immortality and restore the kingdom. All he found was one should be careful what he wished for.
What was funny about his dreams was that he only saw Angelique’s face in the woman he had been in love with. He could hardly remember what the king even looked like so his face had been replaced by Thor’s. It did cause him to have a certain level of jealousy toward his old friend but he knew there would never be anything be. It’s funny how time could erase the things that mattered way back then and dreams could replace those memories with the people who mattered most to him today. What was funny about this dream in particular was that he was laying there watching Angelique sleep in their chambers in the castle with the sunlight glowing on her face and golden highlights reflecting off her dark hair. He dreamed that for hours. That’s all he dreamed all day.
He was roused from his sleep, somewhat with Angelique’s movements. It only served to cause him to dream that she woke and kissed him in the dream. He smiled softly in his sleep but then his eyes sprang open and he was fully awake. “Are you alright?” he asked, tightening his arms around her. He could tell she was in pain as she tried to get up. He deftly slid his hand up her nightgown to touch her swollen belly and read the child. His eyes widened and he looked at Angelique with much concern. “He says he’s coming, Angie. Now you need to be totally honest with me, don’t put on a brave face, this child is coming and I think we need a midwife…” he quickly stood up and began pacing, running his hand through his dark brown locks. “Who? Have we planned for this? Why didn’t we plan for this?” he stopped and moved back to Angelique and took her hand, “Are you alright? Tell me what to do. Tell me you planned for this…” he was on the verge of freaking out completely. “I’m going to be a father.” He could not help but smile but quickly tried to suppress it. Even with the odds, however, he knew if anyone could survive the birth, it would be his mate.

When Angelique had kissed Gabriel the pain began to slide through her. She soon knew stronger pain because it happened again. She lay back when she felt Gabriel's hand on her stomach and she was tense in panic and misery. A tear slid down her cheek as she lay there. She heard his words and then wrapped an arm about her middle. Agony. It hurt so much she could barely breath and kept holding her breath. "I did but the doctor left! I... Ugh!" She screamed then a high pitch that hurt her throat as pain slid through her in waves.
When she stopped screaming she took a breath and tried to curl up into a ball in a fetal position but that only made it worse. Tears streamed down her face as Gabriel came towards her. She was starting to panic. "Make it stop, Gabriel!" She spoke in a whisper but then her stomach felt like it was being cut through everywhere. Her body hurt everywhere and the agony shown on her face. "Please... Call Marcel. He's.. He was born vampire." She was in utter pain and she gripped his shoulder.
"I can't take the pain... Please Gabriel, do something! It hurts so badly." She was starting to panic. It hurt so badly that she wanted to rip the baby out herself. She looked around as if looking for something. "Get Marcel... Help me, Gabriel!" She put her face into the pillow she was laying on as her body shook in what some would say was as if she were freezing. She gripped a pillow and sobbed into it as the pain continued to escalate and panic set in more. "Gabriel!" She screamed as the pain didn't stop at all this time.

Gabriel was a level headed man. It only took him a moment to compose himself. He had to be strong for Angelique. She needed a rock right then, not a weak legged squire. He took a deep breath, even though he didn't need to and sprang into action. First he flung open the door and called out to the first employee he saw. "Ring Marcel over at Stoney's club, that cowboy place. Let the operator know it's priority one so there won't be a hold. Then find me a midwife, at least three bloodslaves, towels, blankets, warm water, a basin, see if Archer Michaels is around, then ring Thor, tell them the baby is coming. NOW!" he commanded.
Gabriel asked for Marcel first because that is what Angie wanted. He called for Archer because, unbeknownst to anyone else, he knew who Archer was and hoped he could help. He called for Thor...because he was honor bound to. He wouldn't want to taste the sun for treason right after his son was born.
He sped back to Angelique and held her hand. "Help is coming. It will be alright..." he leaned in and whispered in her ear, "I called for Archer, the archangel, I know it will be alright. He can heal any damage and soothe your pain." he revealed his knowlege of who he was. He didn't call Vengeance because he didn't trust him, even if she did. He knew Archers grace and kindness were what a child needed, not a synical smartass. "Don't worry, his secret is safe with me. I promise Ange, everything will be alright" he assured her, "Have I ever broken a promise to you?" he looked at her intently.

4 hours later a bouncing baby boywas born! The birth was very difficult on Angelique and she quietly slipped into the sleep of the dead. She was taken to a secret location only Gabriel and Thor know about where she rests in peaceful slumber until her body heals enough for her to return to the living. It was a difficult choice but Thor had to replace her on the council.... sincityhaven.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=announcemt&thread=1765
