Playby: Chelsea Christian
Name: Maura Senka
Age: Twenty-two
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Species: Darkness Elemental
Physical Description:
Maura is different in her appearance, but it’s not for anyone else. She tries to hide herself from others and wears only dark clothes. Her hair is naturally black but it tends to vary from blue, green, or purple; depending on if she can find any dye. She does her best to straighten it every day so that if flows smoothly around her shoulders, but with the hardships, straighteners and blow-driers are hard to come by. Her flawless skin is practically the color of ivory and her electric blue eyes seem to pop out of her head. Piercings? She loves them; on her bottom lip, on her ears, on her nose; it just depends on the day. She's 5'3 and around 118 lbs. Her body is nicely fit, for she spends most of her time exercising. She wears majority black clothes including skinny jeans, tank tops, and a hoodie; though, she prefers to wear her mother’s cloak when out in public.
Attitude:
Maura is a quite girl; though, she’s hot-headed and is quick to act if she feels it’s necessary. She spent most of her life growing up in solitude and preferred it that way. She hardly speaks; and only if necessary. Instead, she lets her actions speak for her. She’s considerably shy and avoids contact with others at all and any costs. Hardly ever leaving her house she keeps herself occupied by focusing all of her attention on her appearance. It’s only for her, though; she doesn’t allow anyone to see her if she can help it. She finds her crazy look is the only thing that brings her happiness in these troubling times. She spends most of her time exercising; and when she’s not, she’s cleaning her guns, and knives, and special sword, which she loves to practice with.
Abilities:
Maura specializes in the art of Shadow. She hasn't fully grown into her powers; but she can control the shadows fairly well. She has excellent vision in the dark; and if fully engulfed in a shadow, she is completely invisible. When in a fight, she creates a cloud of shadow, in which her opponent is practically blinded to what is around them. She hates light; and much like a vampire, refrains from being in it. Her skin is sensitive to light; and if in it too long, she will receive a massive sun burn and possibly blister. She always wears sunglasses, for light gives her a disabling migraine. Using her powers too much can result in blurred or loss of vision, difficulty breathing, nose bleeds, blistering skin, and blackouts or death.
History:
Maura Senka was born November 4, 2054, in the secure hold of Haven. Her parents, both Elementals of Darkness, settled there to avoid coming into contact with the vampires. They became part of the “resistance army” and helped the town with raids and defending the hold from zombies. They were a crucial part to Haven and Maura’s sanity. Unfortunately, they went on a raid and never returned; none of the party did. Maura, left alone at the age of 16, was devastated. She was probably more upset about losing her mother than her father. Her mother was a kinder spirit; odd for an Elemental of Darkness. She helped balance Maura's father, who was far from a kinder spirit. Maura cherished her mother, for she was the only person Maura really talked to. Her father had been strict and had paid little attention to Maura, except for when she was practicing with her powers. He'd always go on about how bad Vampires and Lycans were and and how he absolutely hated going on raids. After a year of living in Haven on her own, her rebellious streak against her father and her curiosity got the better of her. She decided to go to New Vegas and see what the Vampires were all about. Night came; and with all of her weapons packed, plus some food and water, she left the safety of Haven.
Sure, night time was dangerous with the zombies roaming the wastelands; but she stuck to the shadows. It took three days to get there on foot, and traveling slow at night, so as not to alarm the zombies. She finally arrived at the gates of New Vegas; encountering only one group of zombies on the way, which she barely defeated. Settling into her new home, she hoped maybe the VSF would train her to become an assassin.

The half-moon rose above the busy streets of New Vegas. She looked to the sky and sighed. One thing about this city was the lack of stars. At Haven, she’d enjoyed hundreds of stars every night. Here, she’d be lucky if there were at least a hundred. This was a bustling time for the city. The vampires and their lackeys were out and about for the night. A car would pass by on the clutter infested streets every now and then with some partying vampires. A few drunks stumbled past her on the sidewalk and she watched them, shaking her head. How could they be so careless at times like these? Must be nice to have not a worry in the world, she thought.
Trudging on through the dim streets, Maura had mission. She’d been in the assassination business for three years now, after two years of training; and to her relief, had become stronger over her powers. She could now enhance cell regeneration and expand the shadow cloud as far out as a 50ft radius. With her new skills, she was becoming more and more of an accomplished assassin.
The casinos were buzzing with patrons and you could hear the clubs’ basses for miles; but her job was at The Fox and Whistle, a dingy little bar; the easiest venue for an assassination. At least she could get a drink while on the job.
Dressed in her black leather suit and her mother’s cloak, she slid into the bar and sat at the counter. The bartender, who was cleaning glasses, shot her a wary glance. She’d spotted her target; a mutant; sitting in the corner with his eyes trained on her.
“A beer,” she told the bartender. The bottle was slid down the bar into her hand and she turned around to drink and observe the room. Her electric blue eyes glinted under her hood when she noticed the mutant was no longer in the corner. Her body stayed calm while her eyes searched the room urgently.
“If you wanted to kill me,” a voice sounded next to her, “you shouldn’t have let me see you.”
She remained silent as she took the last of the liquid from the bottle. Setting it on the bar counter, she stood and left the bar. She was angered. She'd figured it would be easy, but she should have known better. If he knew they’d sent an assassin, he’d be ready; meaning it wasn’t going to be a simple assassination. A shadowed alley sat some feet from the door to the bar. She crouched in the shadows and waited.
There he was! The mutant exited the bar cautiously, his eyes darting wildly to find any threats. With a stroke of luck, he began walking her way and she smirked. Everything was going according to plan. Closer and closer he came as Maura slowly drew her sword. Ten feet… Five feet… Directly in front of her, the mutant was surprised by a sudden sword thrust. He was a Speeder, though, and dodged the thrust with ease. Then a slash and another jab; she couldn't match his speed. She slunk back into the shadows as he pulled out a gun. The mutant pointed it at her; or so he thought. She had slipped to another shadow.
"You fool," the mutant hissed. "You'll never reach me before my bullet reaches you."
Maura hated guns. Though she had some of her own, she preferred a metal blade in her hand. Her favorite was her sword, but she had many other types of blades. Silently sheathing her sword, she drew two throwing daggers. That’s all she was going need. Speeders were so arrogant. They thought they could evade everything, but instinct for every living creature is to run away from danger, right?
With the quick eye she'd been trained with, she created her trap; throwing one just to the left of his center so that he’d move right. A gun shot sounded in retaliation and the bullet just barely missed her. Then, throwing the second where he was going, the dagger struck the mutant’s temple. Another gun shot was fired as a curse; and this time, the bullet grazed her shoulder, causing her to wince slightly from the pain. The mutant dropped on the sidewalk and she pulled him into the shadows of the alley.
Rising from the dark alley like a deadly shadow, she hurried off through the streets. Dark building loomed over her as if to make her feel guilty. She did not. She'd forced herself to forget feelings before she'd even arrived in New Vegas. It was the only way to get over the loss of her mother; she felt nothing now; only a sense to follow orders.
Arriving at HQ, she headed for Chief Leveque’s office. When entering, the Chief was leaned over his desk, staring at a pile of papers. His brown hair was slicked back a bit, but one stray piece had escaped and fallen over in the front. She kept her eyes on the floor, respectfully. The vampires were not a force she wished to disrespect.
“I have completed the mission, Sir,” she reported and waited for his reply.
