Jakob skipped along the street, singing a song his Da sang to him when he was feeling low. He had left his father sleeping and home and snuck out to go to the Valhalla to get some blood from the bar. He found that to be his best source of nurishment for his neverending hunger.
He was skipping full speed when he crashed hard into someone who felt like a brick wall. With his face buried in the mans chest, the smell of brimstone was unmistakable. Rough hands grabbed his arms and he looked up to see the black dead eyes of a demon. Jakob screamed and kicked the man hard, causing him to let him go. Jakob screamed again and began to run. He could hear the demon chasing him, calling out in a playful voice that he just wanted to play and it wouldn't hurt...much. Jakob screamed again and ran. Bloody tears ran down his cheeks as he made one turn after another. Soon the smell of brimstone and the sound of running feet disappeared. He slowed his run as he turned onto an unfamiliar street. There were people everywhere. Jakob was lost.
People turned and looked at the bloody face of the vampire and turned away again. Jakob hiccuped and swallowed, trying to stop crying but he was frightened now. He searched for a VSF officer but there were none in site. He was pushed from one side of the foot path to another by passers by who didn't see the small boy walking. "Da!" he cried out but he knew it was useless, his father was at home, asleep. He began to weep as he walked, his little armani suit was becoming dotted with drops of blood and his white collar was soaked. "Please." he pleaded from a man as he walked by, "Where is the Valhalla?" he sobbed, but the man seemed terrified of him and pulled away and rushed off. Soon Jakob just stopped walking. He was getting more and more lost. Finally he just stopped by a post box and sank to the ground and cried. "I just want to go home." he whined. He looked up when a pair of feet stopped beside him. "Are you O.K.?" a kind voice asked.

Melissa was out for walk, she had a lot on her mind, and need the air. She had already fed, from her 'pets' and was still slightly hungry. But she left her pets at home to rest. She made her way to the bar, she heard a commotion down the street. She tilted her head to the side, curious. Had a human child got lost? If so, it was not good. Human children would not survive on the streets. She sighed and shook her head, it was not her concern, it was just a human anyway, they served vampires, if they wanted to to live. She began to walk on, until she saw the crying child by the post. Her undead heart fell, and she bit her lip, as she felt for the child. As she walked closer, she caught the scent of him being a vampire. Melissa walked up to him and knelt down to his smaller form. "Are you O.K.?" She asked in a kind tone, as she hesitantly touched his hair. "Are you lost?" She asked as she looked around. "It's not safe out here, vampire or not." She said as she stood up, her long hair framing her face. "I'll take you home." She murmured as she held out her hand to him. "I'll protect you, from harm. I promise. " She gave him a kind warm smile, for him, so he wasn't so upset. "I'm Melissa Parker. You are, child?" She asked with a tilt of her head. In all her years, she never dealt with a vampire child. Not that she went out to search for them, but she still in her learning stages. 'Next thing will be vampire and lycan hybrid' She thought to herself, with a scowl. She figured that was already hybrids out there. She turned her attention back to the child. "I'm a good guy, well girl." She said with a laugh.

Jakob sniffled and wiped at the blood on his face with the back of his sleeve, smearing the mess across his face and soaking the white edge of his shirt that protruded from the suit coat sleeve. "No, I'm not OK. A demon tried to eat me and now I'm lost. Yes I am a vampire but I'm only 10 for reals, the youngest vampire ever, and if anyone hurts me Thor will have their head cuz Drake Legend is my friend and he told Thor to keep me safe." he tried to look tough and unafraid but the bloody tear tracks on his face betrayed his fear. He could smell her scent and knew she was a vampire, therefore, she would know if he was under the protection of Thor, she would really be in trouble if she hurt him. But, on the other hand, if she helped him, she would be rewarded.
He looked up at her hand and heard her offer to help h im. He sniffled again before reaching up and taking her hand and standing up. "I don't think there is any such thing as a good guy anymore." he said softly. He took a shakey breath, hiccuped and sniffled again. "I need to go to the Valhalla." he informed his rescuer. Then just to make sure of his safety, he lied, "Thor knows I'm coming." he looked her straight in the eye making his bold faced lie sound like the absolute truth.

"Thor, I wouldn't want to mess with him. He's bigger and much more powerful than I am." She gave him and smile and winked. "Demon....I'll have him dealt with, okay?" She held his hand and knelt down to his height. She grabbed a cloth from her purse and began to wipe the blood from his face. "Lets get you cleaned up a bit, you look like you've been through hell and back." She said softly. "10 years old? How haven been 10 in....years." She whispered and she smiled. "You remind me of Susan, same attitude and personality." She shook her head at that thought. "Now, let's get you to Thor." She then thought of something, she stood up and frowned. "Why didn't he send someone to come get you?" She asked as she sniffed the air, she didn't catch the scent of another vampire, at least any of Thor's minions. "I know where Valhalla is. I've been there a couple times." She murmured before tossing the bloodied rag away.
"There you look like a prince" She said as she straightened out his clothes and smoothed out his hair. "You're cute. Such beautiful eyes" Melissa then began to lead him to the Valhalla. "You had a bad night. Getting lost, getting attacked, and no one willing to help you, because of fear." She shook her head as she held his hand tighter, comforting him. "Well, soon you will be safe with Thor, then I will be on my way." She smiled and winked. "I'll get you some blood from the bar, if you wish." She offered. She looked at the small child, and her brow furrowed, he looked familiar. Did she know his mother or father? She shook her head, and tucked her hair behind her ear, humming a soft tone. "No such thing as a good guy? Sure there is, they just don't appear as much as they used to. It's hard to be good, when there's so many bad guys out there." She said with a sigh.
She heard something behind them, with her heightened senses. She turned around, and placed the boy behind, her. Her fangs extended and she growled. "I figured you come back, for the boy." She said to the demon, she bared her fangs. "The boy is mine, you can't have him." The demon with dark void-like eyes stared at the vampiress, and then looked at the boy. Melissa glanced at Jakob and frowned. "You must be very valuable. Don't worry, I won't give you to him." She looked at the demon, quick enough, to see him lunge. Melissa let go of Jakob, and wrapped her arms around the demon, as if she was hugging him. She used her vampire strength, and began to try to crush the demon's lungs. She yelped as she threw into a wall, she winced as she shook her head. "Ow, you sneaky little bastard" Melissa appeared in front of Jakob again.
The demon with the dark eyes, snarled as the woman continued to protect the boy. He said he wasn't even her son or responsibility. Melissa tilted her head and smirked, and laughed. "Can't you see the resemblance? He's my kin" She said. She then wrapped her fingers around his throat, and began to try to crush his wind pipe. "I should give you a slow death, for scaring the my child and putting him in danger. " She let him go, as he went to attack her. Then that's when a idea popped in her head. She couldn't believe how stupid she was! She reached in her jean's pocket and pulled out the best weapon she had on her. Salt. "Just to make sure, you stay put." She used her quick speed around the demon, pouring salt around him, creating a circle.
She appeared in front of Jakob again, she grinned. The salt made a circle around the demon, creating a barrier. One he couldn't get out of. "Good, that should hold him." She grinned as she placed the salt back into her pocket. "The attacking was wasn't necessary, I'm still learning." She wiped her blood off of her arm, and sighed. "There, much better. " She looked at the vampire child, and sighed. "Demons are not the kind to trust, never trust them." She pulled out the vial of salt again. "Always carry something of their weakness, or any other species weakness with you. Salt will put demons in a barrier they can't cross. You can use holy water, silver, or holy fire, but holy fire is hard to get hold of. I prefer salt, its easy to use and get hold of. " She glanced at the demon with black eyes, to make sure he was there. "Let's go, and get you to safety." she said as she held out her hand to him. "Sorry, for calling you my son. It wasn't my place." She said as she looked at him.

**Substitute poster- Laik**
Jakob had been consistently warned about the evil creatures from the bowels of Satan’s dominion. The seven princes of hell lived in the New Vegas sanctuary city and they loved to play mischievous games, especially with other creatures of the night. It didn’t surprise him that the demon ultimately returned to try to take him away to have fun with him but he let out a shriek of terror when the monster returned. It wasn’t so much the violent conflict between the beautiful vampire and the evil demon that frightened the small boy, but the grin that never left the frightening being’s face. Even after the tiny white grains of salt were applied around the terrifying creature, the grin remained. In addition to that, there was one more disturbing detail; the demons onyx souless eyes never left little Jakob for even a fraction of a moment.
He merely nodded at the woman’s words but he didn’t take his wide blue eyes off the adversary. Even as the female vampire began to lead him away by his hand he wearily turned back. That fact is why Jakob saw the small gust of wind blow the salt and break the circle that surrounded the malevolent fiend. He yanked his hand away from the other vampires grasp as he shrieked in terror again and took off running into the crowd. He did not see the demon merely teleport away to some den of iniquity that was frequented by the denizens of the devil. Jakob was running, and there was not a force in this world that could stop him at that moment.

Melissa cursed as he took off, she noticed the demon left and that made her relax slightly. She then took off after the vampire child. To most people they were a blur, a gust of wind whipping around them. Being fast was one of the few perks of being a vampire. The 200 year old vampire moved beside him, and ran along side him. "Easy there. You're safe. He's not coming after you." She said in a calm yet soothing tone, trying to convince him. She stared down at him and sigh softly before speaking once more. "He's gone, probably went home or something." She looked at him, and grinned as she looked ahead. "Now, calm down. Running away from your fears or troubles won't help you." She said with a sigh. "You can't run forever." She thought for a moment and ran her hand through her light brown hair, before looking at him. "I never said who I was. Melissa Parker, at your service. You must be Jakob Svenska, I heard about you." She said, and she flashed him a fanged grin.
Melissa held out her hand again, and sniffed the air and frowned. "We've moved further away from our destination. Luckily the night just began.I want to get you to Thor or whoever is waiting for you." She said. She had a feeling he lied to her about Thor waiting for him. She would think Thor would sent protection or a ride for Jakob, not let him wander there on his own. She shook her head as that thought came to her, and looked at him sternly. "Tell me the truth, I don't like being lied to. I will take you to Thor, even if he's not expecting you. Then I will find your father."
