Jace Wayland was out for a walk. It was night, so it was colder out and he could see the humans bundling up to ward off against the chill. He didn't care about the cold so he didn't bundle up. He was wearing a pair of black denim pants that hugged him just slightly so he looked sexy. He also had on a black button up shirt that had the first couple of buttons undone. He had on simple black dress shoes and he hated the fact that he would have to go into work soon.
He had let his mind wander too much that evening already, but it was still wandering. He was thinking about the fact that this particular evening was the evening after his maker had killed herself. He was more moody than normal, but he didn't care one bit. He looked around himself and he saw that he had wandered into the Magi district. He hadn't meant to intrude on the witches and warlocks, but here he was and he decided that he would look around. He spotted an herb shop and he decided to go inside and smell some of the herbs he hadn't smelled since he was just a human.

"Celine, I need you to pick up a few things for me."
The witch let out a slight groan and looked at her mother. "Mother...I am exhausted...please can I just do it tomorrow?" Celine's mother glared at her daughter, "Excuse me? Who do you think runs this business? We are opened twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. Now, get up, and do what I ask of you."
Celine let out a defeated sigh, "Yes mother..." She took the small piece of paper from her mother and looked down at the list before getting changed. She hated the desert weather. It was scourging hot in the morning and freezing at night...but it was better than outside of the city...
The witch put on a pair of blue jeans, a fitted black sweater, and her signature black, heeled boots. Celine put on her leather jacket, and headed for the Magi District. The witch smiled as she entered the district. It was always filled with life. The smell of herbs filled the air, magic users practiced their magics...Celine felt at home here.
Celine entered the local herb shop and grabbed a shopping basket before looking for what she needed to get. The witch walked down the allies while looking at the merchandise and bumped into someone. Celine shook her head slightly and looked at the man she walked into, "Oh...my apologies. Wasn't looking where I was going."

Jace reveled in the smells from his childhood. It had taken him time to remember all of them in detail, but he eventually did, and he loved looking through them times when he still had a family. The smell of rosemary that used to grow in his garden at home, or the chives that his parents used to cook with. Sage that was burned in his house by a witch. They had thought the witch was psycho, but she was also Jace's sitter, so they kept her around.
He was lost in his thoughts again and he was walked into. He turned around to see who had dared to touch him, and his temper was going to explode if it was a man, but when he looked it was a woman. He smiled darkly. He was going to have fun flirting with this one. "Well, if you were you probably would have stopped a while ago." He said smoothly.

"Well, if you were you probably would have stopped a while ago."
The witch smiled and rolled her eyes slightly...of course she had to bump into a young, handsome, cocky boy. Celine missed the dating aspect of life but never had time for boys. She always worked and the guys she was interested in...never took her seriously. The witch felt she was going to die an old, lonely crone with nothing but her familiar and magics to keep her company...that who a zombie would eat her.
"Cute. That work for you a lot?"
The witch was ruder than she should have been...she should have probably taken it as a complement but, she knew full well the games many boys would play. If Celine were seven years younger, she would have eaten this boy's words but, Celine the witch was wise beyond her years. She did not like to play games.
Celine picked up a packet of sage and smelled it before smiling. "Perfect." She threw it into her shopping basket and continued to survey what was on the shelf and her next ingredient on the life happened to be in front of the man. She let out a sigh, "Mind if I grab that?", she said while motioning to wolfsbane.

Jace watched her smile. The line sounded stupid when he said it, but it got her to smile. She rolled her eyes and he could see that she was not taking any shit. He didn't care and replied, "No, It was stupid, but it got you to smile." He said with a smirk that could make normal girls melt and give him anything that he wanted.
He watched her pull the sage off of the shelf and smell it. Another waft of it came to his nose and he sighed internally. He wanted to say something intelligent, but he didn't want to let on what he was just yet. She motioned to the wolfsbane next to him and she wanted it. She asked if she could grab it. He took a small step away from it and motioned to it. "It's all yours." He said. He watched her as she was going about her work, and he could see the veins in her neck pulsing.

"No, It was stupid, but it got you to smile."
Celine shrugged at the boy's comment and couldn't help but think of the countless boys that flirted with her at Nirvana, or the whistles she would get on the streets, it was annoying. Was it so hard to find someone you can actually have an intelligent conversation with? She at times hated New Vegas but...it was home. She and her family had no where else to go.
"It's all yours."
"Thanks." Celine took a step forward and grabbed the wolfsbane. She threw it in her basket and rubbed her eyes slightly. Her eyes were darkened; an obvious sign of exhaustion. Her mother counted on her for everything in The Coven...there were plenty of other witches and warlocks within the business but of course Celine had to oversee everything.
The witch let out a slight yawn and turned around to face the boy. She could practically feel his gaze upon her. The witch tensed her body slightly as she looked him over. He was a good looking guy, she had to admit but...he looked younger than her. She definitely wasn't interested in a younger boy. "Nice to uh...meet you I guess." Celine walked down the aisle once more, her heals clicking with every step she took.

Jace watched her. It wasn't often that a woman wasn't affected by him. He put it to she had too much on her mind to pay attention to him, but he didn't mind. Witches were only fun to play with. He wasn't planning on staying with anyone. She thanked him and he found it odd. He was a vampire, and she couldn't tell. He must look younger than he really was.
She said that it was nice to meet him and he chuckled. "It really isn't considered meeting if we don't introduce ourselves, now is it?" He asked her. He wanted to watch her reaction. He had only met a couple of people that couldn't take his looks, but with her apraising him he loved it. "Names Jace by the way." He said with a crooked smirk.

"It really isn't considered meeting if we don't introduce ourselves, now is it?"
Celine bent down slightly and grabbed a few vials of lavender oil, smelling them and debating which one to buy. The fresher the oil was, the more useful it would be for potion making. Problem was, none of this were that fresh and she did not wish to disappoint her mother...she was not one to be around with when she was angry.
"Guess it isn't."
Celine tossed a vial of lavender oil in the shopping basket and put the other ones away. She stood up straight and looked back at the boy.
"Names Jace by the way."
The witch nodded, "Alright Jace. Pleasure." She did not wish to give her out name...her name sparked different feelings for different people. Some people hated the Pierce organization, some respected, and some feared. She did not know how this boy would react to her name so, she decided not to give it all together.

Jace was puzzled by the fact that she seemed unphased by him. He was ingrigued by it as well. She seemed to not care about what happened. He could see the dark circles and he couldtell that she was tired, but he didn't think that he caused her a reason to be rude to him.
She was smelling lavender oils and he could smell it. He loved the smell and cursed his sensitive nose. He itched to ask her what her name was outright, but he decided to play it up. "I didn't catch yours. What did you say it was?" He asked with a slight smirk on his face and his golden eyes intense. He knew she was a witch, but he wondered what group she belonged to.

"I didn't catch yours. What did you say it was?"
"I didn't." Celine began walking away. She should have given him a fake name but she didn't like lying like that. She stopped and let out an annoyed sigh. Giving her first name wouldn't hurt right? Not like there wasn't more than one Celine in this city. The witch turned around and smiled softly, "It's Celine."
"Oh! Miss Pierce!"
Celine swore under her breath and put on a brilliant, but incredibly fake smile and turned around. It was the store owner. The Coven and the owner had a deal; free barrier spells in the exchange for a heavy discount on herbs. Although...not like the store had strong barriers. "Hey John, how's it going?"
The man smiled, "Oh...I need to new barrier spell."
Celine nodded, "I am scheduled to come in two days from now. The barriers shall hold then. I'll personally see to it." The owner nodded and continued to smile, "Thank's a bunch. And the ingredients are on me tonight."
The witch wasn't about to refuse the man's offer, "Thanks John." John waved Celine goodbye and left to go to the register. Celine let out a sigh and turned around to Jace, hoping he wouldn't know who she was. It wasn't like she was famous, but she did have an interesting reputation in the city.

When she said that he name was Celine she was about to say that it was a pretty name, but the owner of the store came up and called her last name. Pierce. He knew who that family was, and he knew them well. He didn't care for them, but he didn't care in general. So she was a witch with the Organization. He knew she must be powerful, but he wasn't going to get on her bad side or anything.
They talked about barriers and such, and he just listened. She would be back in two days, but he wouldn't be there. He would be back at the casino working. He just wanted to have fun that night, and he was getting hit here with the woman. The owner walked away smelling of sweat, and feat. When Celine turned back to him he had a smirk on his face. "So, You're second in command in the Pierce Organization. I won't bite you, though if you had just told me who you were.,," He trailed off with a small smirk.

"So, You're second in command in the Pierce Organization. I won't bite you, though if you had just told me who you were.,,"
The witch saw the smirk on the boy's face and she narrowed her eyes. She did not like the way he looked at her one bit. Celine could have slapped herself. The boy wasn't a boy, hell he wasn't even human, he was a vampire. She is usually good at picking up at these things but the past few nights of barely sleeping were catching up to her. She eyed him down and up once more, further studying him...oh yes...he was definitely a vampire.
The pale skin, his body language, and the look of lust and hunger lurking deep within his eyes. Celine knew vampires preferred the blood of magic users over humans...she assumed the magic in their blood provided a nice 'zing' to the taste of their blood. She would not allow this vampire to bit her...not without a fight.
Celine brought a hand up and took out her object of power; her sapphire necklace that was hidden beneath her fitted sweater. She clasped her hands over the jewel, feeling the slight rush from the object...granting her a bit more power. "Third in command. Second is my father." Celine's tone was strong. She wasn't a weak willed woman by any means, she could defend herself.
"I would suggest preying on a helpless woman, but then again...feeding on humans without their consent is against the law. Don't think you want those pretty little fangs of your's pulled out do you?"
The witch's body tensed slightly, preparing for a potential fight. Sure was tired, yes, but she could still chant and hold this vampire off if she needed to. "But my family...we don't follow the rules like everyone else...part of a perk. Believe me when I say this...we don't need the sun to burn you at the stake."

Jace saw realization flow into her eyes. She finally realized that he was a vampire, and not just some godly looking kid wandering around the town. He thought back to the time that he was human, and now. He thought he looked better, and attributed that to him being a vampire, but he couldn't be sure because he was biased.
She took him in, and reached for her power. He held up his hands. "I was just making a comment. I don't bite witched that don't throw themselves at me first." he said. Even though he was in danger he was still a smart ass. He knew the laws, and he was under the same laws when it was before the end of the world. "I'm not going to attack you, so if you would please put away your power object and stop giving me the look of you would rather see my entrails burn, I think we can part ways with out either one hating each other." He said while trying to coax her out of her fighting stance.
She mentioned the law and he chuckled lightly. "I have to ask because it helps me, but isn't attacking a vampire just for making a comment against the law as well. I have no intention on feeding on the third in command when I don't want to piss of the head witch." he rattled off to her. He didn't much care for pissing off people that could kill him with one chant.

"I was just making a comment. Celine released her grip on her sapphire necklace, her object of power and let it hang off of her neck before gently placing it inside of her fitted sweater; having it tucked against her chest. She let out a soft sigh of relief. Seemed this vampire did not wish to attack her, but she was on guard...no one was to be trusted in New Vegas...especially vampires who's laws favored them; not the majority of other species living within this city.
"I know you would not attack me. You would not even have the chance to." She wondered if he knew the full extent of a witch's power...but more importantly, she wondered if he knew their weaknesses of overusing their magic. Celine did not want to send any signal of weakness. Vampires were superior, there was no doubt about it, but if she could create the illusion she was more powerful than him, than she would be safe.
"I have to ask because it helps me, but isn't attacking a vampire just for making a comment against the law as well. I have no intention on feeding on the third in command when I don't want to piss of the head witch."
Celine grinned wickedly. On the outside, she appeared as a strong, powerful, and confident woman. But on the inside, she was terrified of this vampire attacking her. She knew if the two of them went to the VSF court, the law would favor him over her anyd day, despite her position in New Vegas.
"If you think I am scary...my mother is far worse than I am. And like anything, the law could be manipulated to favor one side. I myself am quite knowledgeable in this, are you?" Celine let out a sigh, playing off like she wasn't scared. She looked down at her basket and figured she picked up enough ingredients for the night. She began walking towards the vampire and stopped until she was right next to him.
Without looking, she spoke to him. "I would tread carefully vampire. Don't want to wake up a frog being boiled in a potion." She knew fully well no magic user was capable of that, but she wanted to strike fear in his heart. She began walking away and reached the outside of the store before she felt someone behind her....

He watched Celine release her power object and some tension left his body. He knew it was stupid to relax around a witch even though they grow weak when they use their power too much. He could tell that she was tired, but she didn't know how much she had used her power that day, and he didn't want to be a burned corpse on the ground.
He knew that it was against the law to harm her, so he wouldn't. He wasn't stupid. Brash, sure, but not stupid. He watched her smile at his comment against her, but he knew that it was just a facade to scare him. Too bad for her, that smile didn't scare him. Her comment about her mother amused him. "I never said I was afraid of you, or that I thought you were scary. Your mother I know could kill me easily, but I have no idea about you. So, no you don't scare me. Amuse me, and interest me, yes." He said.
He was watching her when she walked next to him and said that she could turn him into a frog. He laughed at that. The laugh was dark, and sinister, but her comment amused him all the same. "I have known a few witches in my time here on earth, and that is entirely not possible. If you think that, then the Pierce Organization is lower than I thought." He said as she walked by. He waited a couple of seconds and he decided to follow her to where she was going. He was bored, and he wanted some entertainment.
