Name: Sydney Brays
Age: 20
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Species: Elemental
Physical Description:
Sydney is a girl who looks her age, young and innocent. She has fair skin, that turns sun burnt red with even a hint of sunshine. Her hair is long and brown, which she sometimes wears in a pony tail and sometimes loose. She stands at 5 foot 6 inches tall.
Attitude:
She is a sweet tempered girl, but she also stands up for herself. she's kind to anyone she meets, unless she gets a bad feeling about them, then she tends to avoid them, but this is very rare. Her father has always said she is a bit of a dreamer, like her mother. She cares for her friends, and her father, when he was alive, more then herself.
Abilities:
She can control fire, being an elemental.
Weaknesses:
She can be killed like any other human and she has a particular weakness to water seeing as the element she can control is fire. A flaw she has is that she can be too sweet sometimes, and is easily manipulated. Her love for her father could also be seen as a weakness, as it could be used against her should someone wish to. She likes to zone off from the real world sometimes, retreat inside of herself and blot out the world, living just inside of her head. She has a shadow that seems to follow her, a need to prove herself to everyone, herself included. She feels insecure, and these all stem from her fathers actions and words to her as she growing up. More importantly, she feels a need to prove herself to her parents above anyone else. She doesn't understand her power and she has a fear of it, this is a weakness because, in a way, she doesn't really understand who she is.
History: (200 words minimum)
Sydney mother was a fire Elemental like herself, her father was a normal human. Her mother died when she was just a year old, and as such, it was quite a surprise when she first discovered her ability to control fire. Her father had known it would come, but had not explained to his young daughter what was happening. It grieved him to see in her what he had so loved about her mother. To combat this, he told Sydney her power was why she died. It went wrong one day, and her mothers death was the result. This created within Sydney a fear of the power she is gifted with, that one day the same thing could happen to her.
She has always lived in the city, with her father up until his death a few months before. She remembers being happy, though her father would sometimes seem distant. As she grew up, she realised he never did get over the death of her mother. She tried in vain to bring him out of it when he went into one of his funny 'moods', but he would be distant for hours at a time, sometimes even days.
After her father's death, Sydney was taken in by the EPS, given a home by her fellow elementals. She's still scared of her powers, but they're hoping to guide and help her as she grows, letting her feel her feet on her own as it were. She fights the natural instincts that are trying to come the surface but the EPS are letting her work through this, she's slowly coming to terms with it, testing herself in private, experimenting slightly. The story her father told her as she growing up, of her mothers death still hides in the back of her mind so she exercises great caution when she decides to play with fire.

Sydney lay on the small sofa in the apartment the council had generously supplied her with after the death of her father. Although a few months had passed, the pain was still rather raw in her mind. She looked across a picture of her father and closed her eyes for a few, short moments before opening them again, determinedly looking away once more.
She sat up, holding her hand out to a small flame that burnt in a candle. She was still getting used to this, and was still a long way off any mastery of her ability to control fire. Though a small flame like this one, she could just about control. She watched as it tentatively creeped onto her hand, rather like a spider she thought.
She rolled her hand, and smiled as she watched the flame rolling with it. Though her smile was not one of happiness, rather of a need to move the muscles of her face. She sighed and stopped rolling her hand, watching as the flame also came to a stop. She closed her fist, extingishing the flame. The little light it had cast on the dark apartment went out, and she was in darkness. But she wasn't afraid, she though of the dark as friend.
