“The most exciting attractions are between two opposites that have never met.” - Andy Warhol
Autumn cut the pie and placed it on a plate before taking it to the customers table. It had been a long night, slow with very few customers giving her time to notice the weary faces on the regulars and the strangeness of those she had never seen before, 3 in particular looked very unusual.
Her feet ached and when she got a spare moment she ducked out the back and kicked her shoes off to stretch her toes. She knew the walk home would be slow and tedious but at least the heat of the day had cooled and it seemed that the night air would be a pleasant change from the stuffy bistro.
"You can go home early" her boss called to her cheerily "Its a slow night and you might as well enjoy whats left of it, well its almost 11 but enjoy"
Autumn grabbed her purse, stuffed her apron into it and was out the door before her boss could change his mind. She walked through the dark streets unworried, she had walked them a million times without a problem. Her feet ached and she slipped off her shoes and carried them in her left hand making her going slower but the cooling concrete felt good under her tired feet.

Dmitrius wasn't in the mood for the crap he was taking. After being apprehended for heading to the surface without bringing anything back down, the beastly man had become more than a bit pissed off with his "pack-mates".
The frustration left nail marks on his palm as the concealed beast stalked through the alleyways and back streets of New Vegas. His ears tingled with every noise, a shout in the distance, an argument in one of the small cafes, and some man drunk and stumbling in the alleyway parallel to the one Ares was standing in.
The werewolf leaned against the wall of the secluded darkness and drew a single cigarette and a matchbox from his pocket, which he proceeded to light up. As the nicotine filled his lungs he felt anger draining away, trying to remember where he'd gotten the pack from and deciding it was best not to try and think it up, he'd stolen a fair few things today. His ears tingled again, a new sound, subtle and insignificant, but intriguing for the thief.
Keeping the cigarette in his mouth, Dmitrius put a hand on the crude knife he had been keeping in a little make-shift sheath in his pocket. drawing it out, the man smirked and blew smoke. The noise was a soft padding sound, a woman's shoeless footsteps approaching.
When the petite blonde was passing he stuck to the darkest part of the alley, watching her as she walked, shoes in one hand and a purse in the other. He had no way of concealing himself once he left the shadows, but Ares didn't sweat details like that. When she was past the opening to the alleyway the werewolf moved slowly from his place against the wall, checking that the street was empty before drawing his knife.
On feet that a human probably wouldn't hear, the beast walked up behind the woman, reaching a hand around her and pulling her toward him backwards. As her scent filled his nose Dmitrius growled lowly and pulled the knife up against her neck, close enough to threaten without actually hurting her unless she struggled. In his animalistically gruff voice the thief whispered, just loud enough for her to hear. "Give me the bag, and maybe i won't hurt you, baby..." The werewolf smirked, baring his teeth, his face just out of sight. Smoke poured from his mouth as he exhaled.

Autumn walked along, she was almost home, she started to hum a tune she had heard during the day wishing she had paid more attention to lyrics as she had really liked the song.
Singing softly, her footfalls in rhythm to the beat of the music in her head "humhumhum lalalala Its the way love is meant to be" she took a breath thinking she had heard something but everything was silent and so she started again "hum hum hum hold me close lalala"
She heard another noise, almost like a low growl and she slowed her steps a moment looking for the mongrel dog that must be close by, she had seen the mutt a few days ago and had left a bowl of food scraps out for it. She looked left then as she looked right she felt the movement by her neck making her stop dead, mid step with her foot hovering just above the ground, somehow she sensed the blade near her neck, close enough it could slice her jugular vein in an instant.
The deep gruff voice made her blood run cold with fear, and her skin broke out in goosebumps. She didn't scream or yell for help as she was too frightened but a small squeak came from her throat before she could prevent it.
The puff of smoke that came from over her shoulder made her cringe and she felt a tear form in the corner of her eye and it snaked its way down her trembling cheek.
"Please don't hurt me" she begged "Take anything you want"
She lifted her hand holding out her bag for him to take "I am sorry" she said softly "You must be terribly desperate if you are doing this and I don't have much I am sorry" she took a unsteady breath "I wish I had more to give you since you must really need it"
She turned her head, not really being able to see him but catching just a glimpse of his steely gaze. Another tear slid down her cheek as she looked at him.
