"Miss Pierce? It is almost time."
Celine was applying her make up and almost screwed up her eye liner from the interruption. The witch rolled her eyes and continued to apply her make up, "I am perfectly aware of the time. Be patient. I am never late." Celine Pierce may be a woman, but she knew the importance of being on time. Besides, tonight was her night. This night, she was performing at Nirvana...her favorite night of the week.
Tonight, Celine was in a seductive mood. She wore a backless black dress that hugged her body tightly. A slit separated the left side of her dress, revealing her bare leg. Her lips were a dark purple, her hazel eyes more prominent due to eye liner. Celine was a sight to behold and she knew it.
Celine placed her object of power over her neck; a sapphire necklace and slipped on her black, laced, open toed heels. The witch gave herself a once over in a mirror and smiled. "Ready to go..." Celine grabbed her purse and made her way to Nirvana. She never went anywhere alone...complements her parents. Wherever she went, Celine always had bodyguards. It was annoying, but she understood she needed to be protected.
The Pierce family had a bit of a reputation in New Vegas...some respected them...many feared...and many hated them. The witch eventually made it to Nirvana and smiled as she entered. It was a full house this night...my, my was Cynthia doing well for herself. Speaking of the elemental, Celine noticed she was on stage and waved to her.
Cynthia smirked at Celine while on the stage. Cynthia waved the previous performer off and brought the microphone to her lips, "I hope you are all having a wonderful night...and the fun is just beginning. Ladies and gentlemen i would like to present the beautiful, the powerful, Celine Pierce!" The crowd began to applause and Celine made her way to the stage before kissing Cynthia on the cheek.
Cynthia left the stage and Celine turned to the audience. The lighting began to dim and the spot light was on Celine. "For many years...the world was in darkness..." Celine whispered, "Obscurum". The entire club began to darken, not an ounce of light to be seen. Celine brought the microphone back to her lips, "Death...chaos ensued...but then something happened..." Celine brought the mic away from her lips and whispered, '"Aduro".
An orb of light appeared in front of Celine, "A light appeared and from there came life...happiness. That light began to grow..." Celine narrowed her eyes at the orb and the orb of light began to grow, "And grow..." The orb of light began to multiply. "That light is New Vegas...the city of lights...the city of sin...the city of sex...city of love..." Celine manipulated the orbs and the orbs of light began circling around the club.
Celine clapped her hands and the orbs of light exploded, creating a stunning display of light. Then the normal lighting of the club appeared, "Good evening ladies and gentlemen. My name is Celine Pierce. You all ready for a display of smoke and magic?" The crowed began to cheer and clap. The witch smiled brilliantly and eyed the audience and a man caught her eye...the man she has noticed her past performances at Nirvana. She had to know him. Celine eyed the man and gave him a wink; hoping he would notice.

Another hot Nevada night. Logan didnt mind the heat as long as there were places to duck inside. What he did mind was having to run when he was already hot. He noticed the gang of spotty boys when he passed the alley. He didnt like he wet dog stench that came off of them. He looked up at the bright night orb in the sky and sighed. Full moon. He knew there were werewolves under the city and he also knew they avoided vampires. That didnt stop the younger ones from causing trouble. And this close to a full moon, Logan knew he could easily get into trouble. He picked up his already quick pace but noticed it didnt stop the dodgy youths from casually following him. This wasnt good. They were aching for a fight and he wasnt. He knew the best way to get away from them and avoid hurting someone was to head for the vampires.
He was close to Nirvana. That place was as good as any. He broke into a full run. He noticed the boys picked up their pace and were chasing at a full run. They were in for a surprise. He could run nearly as fast as a vampire so there was no way they could catch him. He made it to the door in no time. He slipped inside and looked out in time to see his persuers disappear down an alleyway. He turned and went inside to kill some time so he couldbe sure they were gone.
He ignored everyone around him and people moved out of the way of his large, impressive form as he walked up to the bar. Before the bartender could even ask he muttered, "Ice water." He heard a familiar voice up on the stage and turned to see the magician he saw before just the other night. He looked only for a moment but when she made eye contact and winked he looked away. He hated being winked at. He turned back to the bar and sipped his water.

Celine watched as the man avoided her gaze. Well, that was new. She wasn't used to being ignored like that and narrowed her eyes slightly. Just a temporary set back. Perhaps this man wasn't worth her time but the witch was stubborn. If she wanted something; she'd get it. She couldn't let this upset her...she had an audience to entertain.
Celine smiled brilliantly at the audience, "Let the show begin..." With that, the witch did what she did best...her magic. She started by lighting candles with her magic and levitating them in the air. She then began by performing some comedic acts by selecting volunteers and allowing them to drink small portions of truth potion and having them share their deepest, most embarrassing secrets.
There was no harm of their 'sharing'', just some harmless fun. After a few more acts; Celine was exhausted. She had a tendency to overuse her powers when she was at Nirvana, but she had an audience to entertain. Celine was applauded for her performance and the witch left the stage. She noticed the man was still at the bar and figured she could at least try to talk to him.
Celine walked towards the bar, her heels clicking with every step until she reached the stool next to him. She sat down and looked over at the man, "Mind if I sit here?" She smiled brilliantly and awaited his answer.

Logan listened to the goings on on the stage. Why people would let anyone make them act like fools was beyond him. He didnt get it. He would never put himself in that position. He felt eyes on him from time to time and knew where they were coming from. He didnt like bringing attention to himself, he just wanted to find his brothers. The only thing keeping him in this place was that his brother Gambit would eventually find his way in here if he was in New Vegas, but then again, where else would he be? The thought made one corner of his mouth turn up slightly but then it quickly went back down when he heard the womans voice.
"It's not a free country anymore but I don't think anyone would stop you." he mumbled and took another drink. Ice water was something he missed when he was in the wastelands on his way to this place. He could never get enough of it. In the old world, ice water was free but in new vegas it cost as much as any other drink. He reached into his pocket and counted his credits. He had just enough for another glass, "Bartender, more." he called out.
He glanced at the girl and wondered if she had ever had to count credits for a cold drink. He quickly looked away again and pushed his glass toward the bartender so he could fill the glass from a chilled pitcher full of cool clear iced water. He took the glass back and took another long drink off it then set the glass down. He closed his eyes and savored the feeling of the cool liquid pouring down his throat and cooling him from within.

"It's not a free country anymore but I don't think anyone would stop you."
Celine raised a brow at the man's response and couldn't help but frown slightly. Well...this is disappointing. She was hoping for at least some semblance of a conversation. Did she come out too strong? Celine never had time for boys...being that she was always working and was rusty in the whole flirting department. She looked the man over and studied him a bit.
The man obviously wanted to be alone, but it did not take a genius to figure that out. He also seemed deep in thought...he seemed lost...as if searching for something that wasn't sure or at least...not yet. Celine watched as the man called out to Sean, Nirvana's bartender and watched him count his credits. She couldn't help but pity the man slightly. He did not have much.
Celine looked at Sean and smiled, "Hey Sean." He was a nice enough guy. He was just a human, but he was a good guy overall. "Hey Celine, great show tonight. You know how to entertain an audience." Celine chuckled softly, "Your sweet." She watched as Sean was about to take the man's credits, "Hey, make sure this guy's glass stays full alright? It is on me."
Sean raised a brow, "You sure?" Celine nodded and the bartender shrugged, "Alrighty. Can I get you anything Miss Pierce?" Celine pondered for a moment, "What's the special tonight?" Sean let out a grin, "Dark Magic." Celine let out a laugh, "What is in it?"
Sean shrugged, "Can't tell ya." Celine smirked, "Then I'll have to try it." Within moments, Sean put the drink in front of Celine before tending to other customers. The drink was a dark purple served in a martini glass. She sipped it and smiled in satisfaction. It was a bit fruity for her tastes but she didn't mind it. Celine set her drink town and looked over at the man. The witch placed her hand out, as if to shake his hand and smiled,
"Sorry about earlier. I've just seen you around a lot here and wanted to get to know you. I'm Celine."

Logan tried to ignore the woman and he conversation with the bartender but he liked the sound of her voice. He lifted a perfect eyebrow when she told the bartender to keep his glass filled. He wondered why she would want to do that but he was not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. He drained the glass then pushed it toward the bartender expectantly. If it was free, he was going to get his fill. As he leaned forward, his dog tags hit the edge of the bar with a metalic chime. He reached for them, wrapped his hand around them and dropped them inside his shirt.
Once his dog tags were secured he turned ot the woman out of curtesy, "Thank you for the water." he said in an attempt to sound amiable but he was certain he failed. He wanted to be friendly but his social skills just never developed, even after all these years. "I...uh, appreciate it, but why?"

Celine quirked a brow as she saw the man's dog tags hit the bar. Hmm...interesting...it seemed this man had a past. It old past...there was no military in this new world...was this man human? He certainly was not a vampire...the tone in his flesh was too healthy to be a vampire. Celine knew this man was not a warlock...she would have sensed the magic within him. What is he...
"Thank you for the water...I...uh, appreciate it, but why?
Celine returned her hand, assuming he did not wish to be touched. She would respect that. She shrugged and turned to sip her drink. It was beginning to grow on her...she may have just found her new favorite at Nirvana. The witch looked back at the man and smiled, "Why not?" Celine paused for a few moments and sighed, "I guess you do not go out much do you? That surprises me actually...seems a guy like you would have the ladies in line."
The witch chuckled slightly and her features softened. She was still a bit weak from over using her magic but she could still hold on to a conversation, "Honestly though? I know most of the people here...many of them clients actually but I don't know you. You always seem to have something on your mind...like your looking for something."
Celine bit her lip and sipped her drink again, "My apologies...I dont mean to pry but part of my job is to read people...it is a happen...I guess I could say."
"Miss Pierce?"
The witch let out a slight scowl but quickly replaced it with a brilliant smile as she turned to an older woman....a constant client to be precise, "Hey Joan, how can I help you?"
The woman bit her lip, "I...lost him again. Think you could scry for him again? I'll pay you."
Damn right you will pay. "Joan...as much as I appreciate your business you really need to put that dog on a leash..."
Joan nodded, "i know, I know but could you do it now?"
Celine shook her head, "Sorry Joan...I am off tonight. But come by the office tomorrow I will be more than happy to help you."
"But it is an emergency! Please you have to help me! "
Celine glared at the woman, "Look. Joan. I have not had a day off in weeks. I am exhausted. I would like some semblance of a life once in a while alright? If it is really that important, go to the office yourself and find someone else to help you. What is it? The fourth time this week you lost that dog?"
Joan nodded, "I am sorry Miss Pierce...have a great night."
Celine faced her drink and finished the remnants of it. "You to..." The witch let out a long sigh, "God damn it...why do I always have to do everything..." She calmed herself down and turned back to the man, "My apologies if I seemed rude but...she is a constant client and is often really rude if we do not do what we ask right away..."

Logan turned just enough to be more polite when conversing with the strange woman. "Why don't you tell her to fuck off?" he asked her as if it was the most logical solution. "I would." his intuitive senses peaked when he saw, out of the corner of his eye, a drunk man clad in leather making his way toward his with his eye on the girl. "I have been looking for my brothers. This is the kind of place one of them would spend time in." he turned again and rested his arms on the bar in anticipation of an incident.
Just as he thought, the drunk walked right up to the woman he was talking to.
"Hey baby, want to have a drink with a real man?" the man slurred.
"Beat it, Mack." Logan warned, "The lady and I are having a conversation."
The man completely ignored Logan and laid a hand on Celine's arm, "Come on baby, you know you want me."
Logan moved with lightning speed to remove the mans hand from her arm. "I said to beat it." he warned again. His expression didn't change when he heard the click of a switch blade being pulled then held up for him to see.
"Maybe it's you who should beat it...Mack." the drunk said boldly.
Logan calmly let go of the mans wrist but held eye contact as the man lowered his blade and put his hand back on Celine's shoulder. He slowly made a fist and raised it up so it was level with the mans neck.
"You going to go against my knife with a fist?" The drunk laughed and pulled the knife again.
Logan didn't say a word but a metallic scraping sound came from inside his wrist. Small slits opened up in his knuckles and three 12 inch blades slowly extended from his hand. "Leave...the lady...alone..." he hissed.
The drunk dropped his knife and ran.
"Where were we?" Logan asked as he retracted the blades and went back to his water.

"Why don't you tell her to fuck off?..I would."
Celine shook her head slightly and chuckled, "If only it were that easy. She doesn't mean any harm. She is just...annoying and I guess I am a little on edge not having a break and constantly using my gifts to the point of exhaustion..."The witch shrugged and motioned the bartender for a refill.
"I have been looking for my brothers. This is the kind of place one of them would spend time in."
The witch's eyes quirked slightly. So, she was right. This man was looking for something...or someone in particular. Perhaps Celine could help him what he is looking for...well...for a price at least. But...perhaps the witch would give him a discount. After all...he was hot...and Celine was not going to deny that.
"Well...perhaps I could-"
"Hey baby, want to have a drink with a real man?"
Celine turned her head and narrowed her eyes, "Excuse me?" She was about to say more to the man but she watched as the guy stood up for her. Her eyes widened at the display of the two men. She did not want the two of them to fight...but Celine had no strength to stop it even if she wanted to.
The witch overused her magic, she was as useless. Celine's eyes gasped at the display of the man's ability. Her mouth opened slightly when three, long, metallic blades escaped from his wrist. So...he was a mutant...interesting. Celine knew there was a reason this man drew her in.
"Where were we?"
Celine smiled, "Me thanking you for standing up for me back there. I appreciate it...really....I do..." The witch turned to her drink and sipped at it before setting it down and returning her gaze to his, "So...fancy little ability you got there. But..." She instinctively reached for his hand and gently traced his knuckles with her thumb, "Does it hurt?"
The witch blushed slightly and let go of his hand, "S-sorry about that. Just curious is all." Celine sipped at her drink again and felt stupid for grabbing him like that. "So, do I get to know the name of the man who stood up for me?"

Logan sipped his water as he let the thank you slide off his back like so much water on a duck. He didn't like to be thanked for something he did more for himself than the woman. “There are two things I don’t like.” He said quietly, “Being interrupted and repeating myself.” He thought it was obvious that the two tied in together since being interrupted was a good cause of having to repeat himself, which he never did.
“It isn’t an ability.” Even if others saw it that way, he did not. “It is something that was inflicted on me without my consent.” He was a mutant but not like the others in the city. He came along long before the apocalypse and so did his brothers. Only his structure had been changed. His blades used to be naught but bones. It wasn't that he was not happy with his adamantium skeleton, he just spent a good part of his life wishing he was normal, although now that things have changed in the world, he was glad he had the tools to survive.
"Does it hurt?" [/]
Logan looked her straight in the eyes to answer, “Every time.” He let his eyes drop and looked down at his glass. He was ‘Wolverine’. That was his identity when he was in hiding but something made him share his real name with her. “Name’s Logan.” He said just loud enough for her to hear then added, “But everyone calls me Wolverine.”

"There are two things I don’t like. Being interrupted and repeating myself.”
Celine nodded and drank the remnants of her cocktail before pushing it in front of her. She felt the alcohol sooth the stress and let out a soft sigh at the feeling. The witch turned back to the handsome mutant, "I know exactly what you mean. Many clients ask me to do things that are way beyond my abilities...some just don't take no for an answer."
"It isn’t an ability...It is something that was inflicted on me without my consent.”
Celine's eyes widened slightly, "Oh..." She looked him over once more, but not lustfully. She was curious about this man and knew he had a past. She wanted to know him. But she wouldn't push it. He seemed the type that did not like the bring up the past and Celine understand that. "I'm...sorry. I know it doesn't mean much coming from me but I am not sure what else to say." Was he experimented on? What happened to him? The witch wanted to know more...
“Every time..."
Celine frowned at the man's words. "I can't imagine what that is like...to have something like that come out of your body..." Sure, Celine's abilities took a toll on her but nothing like that would ever happen with the overuse of her magic.
“Name’s Logan..But everyone calls me Wolverine.”
The witch smiled at the man, "Wolverine..." She liked how the name rolled off her tongue. "I like it." She chuckled slightly and looked down, wondering what to say before looking up back at him. "So, you say your brother comes to places like this right? Well...from what I can tell you seem to have been looking for him for a long time."
Celine paused for a few moments before continuing. "Perhaps I can help." The witch opened her purse and grabbed a business card before sliding it towards Logan. The card was a dark purple with a pentagram logo. In golden lettering was "The Coven" with an address. "My family runs this business. We offer magical services...including finding lost people and objects."
Celine clicked her purse shut and smiled, "But for what you did for me back there...the fee is on me. I am sorry if I seem too pushy but...not a lot of people would do what you did for me back there and I want to repay you."

Logan let out a breathy laugh through his teeth. He didn't smile often but it looked like it belonged on his weathered face. “You know, there was a time when I didn’t believe in magic.” He turned slightly so he could look at her more closely, “Now, now things are different, aren’t they? I remember back in the nineties, I came here to watch a magic show. There were these two guys, I guess they were the fancy pants type, you know, they were a couple. They had tigers in their act, they had a good magic act. But that’s all it was, an act.” He still had a smile on his face when he turned back to his water. “I think I will keep looking the conventional way. If Gambit wants to be found, I’ll find him, if he doesn’t, I won’t.” he took a big swallow of his ice water then looked across the bar at a flyer. $50,000 BLOOD CREDITS!!! STREET FIGHT CONTEST LAST MAN STANDING MUTANTS WELCOME ASK THE BARTENDER FOR SIGNUPS MAY THE BEST FIGHTER WIN!!! (tickets to the event= 10 credits) Logan knew he wouldn’t last much longer without money and he had not been able to find employment being a mutant. “That looks right up my alley.” He mumbled. “Bartender!” he called, “I’d like to sign up for the street fight.” He could really use the credits.

Celine heard his bit about him not used to believing in magic and couldn't help but laugh softly. She heard him talk about two magicians with tigers and her eye quirked, "Oh, Siegfried and Roy or whatever? Yea I read about them...bunch of two bit wannabe's." She rolled her eyes a bit then stopped and looked at the mutant again, "But that means..." This man had been around for quite some time then.
Was there any limit to his power? "Well...you look good for your age." She chuckled softly then instantly regretted it, that sounded so corny. The witch was really, really rusty in the flirting department.
"Magic has been around since the dawn of mankind...it was just hidden until now."
"That looks right up my alley...Bartender!..I’d like to sign up for the street fight.”
Celine frowned slightly and looked at Logan, "You know...a lot of people die in those street fights..."
Sean's eyes perked at Logan's voice and grabbed a clipboard and pen, "Sure mate." He placed the clipboard in front of the man, "Just sign up. Good luck." Sean walked away and tended to other customers.
The witch let out a sigh, seemed he was desperate for money. "Are you sure you want to do that Logan? If it is a job you need I can help you with that..."

Logan lifted a perfectly shaped eyebrow toward the pretty witch. She was quite the beauty as a matter of fact. Logan just didn’t go ‘round thinking about shit like that. But maybe it was because she just showed concern for his questionable safety. Not many people cared about his safety. As a matter of fact, he could count the number of people who might actually be concerned for his safety on one hand and still not use all his fingers.
“I need money if I am going to stay in the city and find Gambit.” He said flatly. Not to mention, he could not give blood since he healed so fast the blood would coagulate before it could be drawn from his body. “You don’t have to worry about me dying; I’m actually beginning to wonder if it’s possible for me to.” He laughed quietly and lifted his ice cold drink to his lips again. God, he could never get enough of that stuff. The cold clear liquid was the only pleasure he took these days, although the woman beside him reminded him he was a man and he felt things he hadn’t let himself feel in years.
He took the signup sheet and simply wrote ‘Wolverine’ and handed the signup back to the grinning bartender. “You can come cheer for me.” He smiled a toothy grin. The corners of his eyes creased with laugh lines and his blue eyes caught the light and made them look like they sparkled for just a moment. Why did he feel so bloody happy? It was her. There was something about her that he couldn’t put his finger on, but he would like to.

“I need money if I am going to stay in the city and find Gambit...“You don’t have to worry about me dying; I’m actually beginning to wonder if it’s possible for me to.”
Celine let out a sigh and smiled at Wolverine. He was a strong person, that much he knew. He seemed to care deeply for this Gambit character and wondered what his story was. The witch wanted to know him...and not because she was nosey. Celine just wanted to know what lurked behind his tough exterior. Everyone has a story...some just hide it better than others.
"Well...there is an open position for security." A soft smile formed on the witch's lips. "Just let me know...perhaps this little fight could be an audition..."
“You can come cheer for me.”
Celine chuckled softly and nodded. She looked at his smile and couldn't help but let out a soft sigh. The smile suited him...it seemed he had not smiled in a long time. "Wouldn't want to be anywhere else. You have a wonderful smile by the way. You should do it more...it suits you." Celine opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted by a group of mutants coming into Nirvana.
"FIGHT! ALL YOU MUTANTS SIGNED UP COME OUTSIDE!"
Celine frowned slightly and gently reached for Logan's hand. She gripped it slightly and smiled a bit, "Let's go..." She removed herself from the bar stool and led Wolverine outside, seeing a mass of people in a huge circle shouting for the fights to begin. The witch turned around and looked up at Wolverine. She felt someone bump into her and forced her body to bump against his.
Celine blushed heavily and gripped his hand tighter, "Are you sure you want to do this Logan?"
