New Vegas.
City of sin, one of the few remaining cities in the world. Home of humans, witches, lycans, mutants, and vampires. My, my was New Vegas filled with such fun creatures. With the exception of zombies that is. Tonight, Casander Pierce wanted to take a break from his duties in the casino and left it for Laik this night. It saddened the vampire that he was away from his maker but, Casander had to look over the finances of 'The Raven'...something Laik does not enjoy doing.
This night, Casander Pierce was alone in his lavish office overlooking the city. He was clad in his usual attire consisted of black leather pants, black boots, and his signature mesh shirt with a black cross necklace hanging off his neck; easily shown through the mesh shirt. The vampire sighed slightly,
'With all these vampires under my control I have yet to find a trustworthy accountant...how annoying..."
Casander turned in his cushioned seat and opened the window, inhaling the night air. He took out a cigarette and lit it before taking in the sweet tobacco. The vampire let out a long breath of smoke, knowing full well that a measly cigarette has little to no affect on a vampire. As he was enjoying the night air, Casander was interrupted by a knock on the door. The vampire rolled his eyes,
"Who is it?"
"Mr. Pierce...there is someone here interested in applying for the open bartender position. Shall I have him come in?"
Casander chuckled slightly and turned his cushioned seat, "Ah yes. I almost forgot. Please Charles, do let him in." All employees had to be interviewed by Casander and Laik but considering his lover was busy this night, Casander would have to interview this vampire alone and report to Laik. So, Casander remained seated, awaiting for the vampire to enter.

Valik was dressed in a black button down t-shirt with a pair of black slacks. He wore a pair of black boots that tied up the calves but one boot was untied and the strings lay on the ground. He had pulled on a black trench coat just to complete the look. A mixture of professional but still a style all his own. He hoped these two didn't mind an odd one that knew his drinks. Like it mattered. He was damn good at what he knew though he preferred to just kill people.
Oh well, like it mattered. Maybe someone will drink too much and fall and break their neck or something. And wasn't it in the movies that the bartender was the one you actually watched out for? He lifted his shoulders and fixed his trench coat. He debated on putting on a tie so instead he shoved one into his pocket. White to go with the back drop of all the black. He walked into the casino bringing a hand up and using his middle finger to fix his eyeliner.
A few people stared at him even as he stalked towards the bar. He stared at the substitute bartender and made a face as the man spilled more than he got into the glass. Holy shit did he have a whole lot of work to do. And by the looks of the bottles he'd have to put them in the right order if he got the job. Fuck he wanted to kill this fucking twit. Destroying a bar like he was doing.
He finally spoke up. "I'm looking for Casander for the job of bartender." The man practically ran and left the bar without anyone coming to take over. "Son of a bitch..." He looked around at all the customers that weren't too pleased. He rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Fuck me..." He heard the man tell him to follow him and the whole way he was contemplating on wrapping his tie that was in his pocket around the man's neck.
He finally made it into Casander's office and as he entered he pulled out his tie and met the man's eyes with a flash of an evil grin. His fangs showing clearly for a moment. "Your bar is trashed." He remarked turning his grin into a smirk. He was a bit annoyed that he would have to reorganize it if he got the job. He looked at the man. "And unattended obviously." He watched the man scurry out and wondered if the tie would have worked wonders with the man's scrawny neck.
But he shifted his eyes back to Casander as he rocked onto his heels and then back onto his toes like a little kid even as he wrapped the tie around his hand. "I'm Valik Adolysius. I was looking for a job at your bar. It needs a lot of work but I think I can manage." He snickered some at that. "You definitely need a professional for it. No offense to you. But that man makes you lose more money than you make." His voice was dry but there was a look of something in his eyes. Non-threatening to Casander... Yet.
"He spilled more on the floor than he got in the glass." His eyes never left Casander's eyes even as he pushed the end of the tie underneath a fold. He brought the hand with the tie wrapped around it up and rubbed the back of his head scratching some waiting for something. You are hired or get the fuck out. "If I need to audition give me a drink to make for you, dear." His lips curved on the ends with an invitation in his grin as if saying or could we do something with more fun in it.

Casander looked at the vampire with cold, emotionless eyes as he entered. He eyed the man up and down; getting a sense of his style. Usually, interviews such as these required more formal attire but with the apocalypse and all, he let it slide. From the looks of the man, he had the looks to work at 'The Raven'. Everything else, Casander would just have to find out for himself.
The vampire listened to him talk about how Charles was unable to maintain the bar. Charles was a human bartender working at a casino...of course he was ruining the bar...hence the interview. Casander stood silent as the man continued to talk...and talk...and talk. Boy, did this vampire have a mouth. Casander took long drags of his cigarette and blew out the remaining smoke before placing the filter in a nearby ash tray on his desk. Casander sat up straight and continued to listen to Valik talk.
"If I need to audition give me a drink to make for you, dear."
Casander's eyes widened but quickly turned into a glare. "Do not call me dear Valik. One such as yourself as no right to speak to me in such a manner." In a flash, the vampire shut the door in his office before sitting down in his chair. "So far, Valik, not the best first impression. I usually behead individuals who speak to me so informally without permission."
Casander let out a sigh and rubbed his temples slightly before looking back at Valik, "You know who I am and you are required to speak to me with respect. Talk to me like that again, you may find yourself meeting the sun. Now..."
Casander motioned with his hand to the seat across his desk, "Sit and tell me why I should hire you Valik"

Valik saw the cold and emotionless eyes and it didn't bother him one whit. He had dealt with worse and it didn't matter. Yeah, Valik talked a lot but he knew what he knew and that was that. Casander was a council member but eh, it didn't really matter to Valik. As the saying went. Death was a mercy to him. He spoke dryly but to him that was respect. He could be so much worse and knew it.
He saw the man's eyes widen and then they quickly turned into a glare. Interesting that. He tilted his head. Oh joy, a stick in the mud and one for protocol. How boring. He didn't even blink or flinch as the door was shut by the man. It didn't bother him either way. "I don't do good with first impressions. Impressions are for later when it does truly count." His lips curved intrigued. "As for respect I am being respectful. I could be much worse. As for the beheading go ahead and you will lose the best bartender ever." He smirked at that for it was true. His best was his own creation that he called The Magic Concoction.
He watched as the man rubbed his temples and heard the sigh before he heard the man speak again and nearly chuckled but held it back. It took a lot for him not to chuckle. The man was clearly aggravated or annoyed. It didn't matter to Valik though but his grin formed with clear enjoyment. "As I said before it is respectful and I can be much worse. And for the finding myself in the sun it would probably be a welcomed change. You know with the scenery and all."
He took the seat that was offered him and gave a soft sigh. Repeating was not his best thing in the world but obviously it was yet again protocol. "Because I am the best bartender that you will ever have or rather that anyone can get their hands on. Ever heard of The Magic Concoction? My own personal drink. I created it. Here's another thing. I will be the best even with how I talk and you would love what I can do when shit hits the fan. Pardon my language but...." He lifted his shoulders in a shrug. "It can't always be helped for emphasis."

Casander listened to Valik and his brow furrowed at his further disrespect towards the elder vampire. If it were any other night, the vampire would already be beheaded and sent to the incinerator, but the council member was not in the mood for killing a member of his kind. He listened to the younger vampire speak about how he doesnt do well with first impressions and couldnt help but chuckle darkly,
"Ah Valik. First impressions are most important. But, from looking at you I can already tell you do not care what others think of you. That is something I admire. You seem like the type that frankly, doesn't give a crap...at least on the outside." Casander looked at the vampire with eyes as if seeing right through his soul, "On the inside...you are a troubled man who still holds on to the past. I can see right through you."
Casander raised a brow when the vampire claimed he did not fear death. "Interesting...there are many vampires who fear death at your age. Very interesting..." The council member eyed the man up and down, as if studying a frog before dissecting it. This man was interesting to say the least...
Casander continued to listen to the man and couldn't help but grin as the vampire finished speaking, "Well Valik...if its any consolation you are by far the most interesting person who's applied for the position." Casander stood up from his chair and walked towards Valik and sat on the desk so he was in front of him, "There is something about you I like Valik. I sense potential in you...and I am very...very rarely wrong about these things. So..."
Casander held out his hand as if to shake Valik's hand, "You are hired Valik...but know this. My attendants and I shall be keeping a close eye on you."

Valik saw Casander's brows furrow as Valik continued to talk. He was known to piss people off so it didn't matter if he pissed more people off or not. He died, he died. He killed, he killed. It was that simple. His hands weren't clean at all. He could tell that Casander was not thrilled with him too much but he didn't give two shits about that at all.
He then in turn listened to Casander and a smirk began to curve his lips. He lifted his shoulders in a slight shrug. He didn't care what people thought of him. It was written all over him. He met the man's eyes head on. The man seemed to look right into his soul. He continued to meet Casander's eyes as the man spoke of what was supposedly on the inside of Valik. Valik's shoulders came up again though he had an evil grin forming and had to fight not to chuckle. Let the man believe what he wished.
Valik really didn't care if he lived or died. It didn't matter. It would be putting him out of his miserable existence. He heard the words and chuckled some. "Live like today is your last day. Or in our cases night." He murmured some. For he did that always. He truly enjoyed hearing this man talk of things that didn't matter to Valik.
Valik heard the man say that he was the most interesting person who has applied for the position and grinned impishly. "That's because everyone puts on false airs. You can't expect me to do something since you already know I would probably already do it so it would be a fair equation, yes?" He watched as Casander stood up and moved towards him. He wondered if the man would really kill him. His breath didn't hitch. It was just a thought. Nothing major at all. He watched as Casander sat down on the desk. He listened to the words. Was this a job interview or had it gotten personal? What did the man mean by potential? He gave a mental shrug as he saw the man extend his hand out to him.
Valik reached his hand out to grasp the hand as he met Casander's eyes. "Everyone does so it isn't much of a problem. I'd watch me if I were in everyone's shoes." But then he decided to add some dry humor to the mix. "I'm one sexy bitch so yeah, I'd watch me." He snorted at that.

"Everyone does so it isn't much of a problem. I'd watch me if I were in everyone's shoes...I'm one sexy bitch so yeah, I'd watch me."
Casander gripped Valik's hand tightly and let out a chuckle, "Funny...cocky...but funny. I'd work on the narcism Valik...you are young...but attitude such as this results in the downfall of many vampires. You may not think so now...but you will." Casander may be the youngest of the Magistrate...but he has seen enough. He has seen vampires much older than he flaunt their powers over others as if they were gods.
Vampires such as these...died. The vampire looked down at vampire, "Now...about this audition. How about you show me what you got. You can talk the talk...let us see if you can follow up on it." Casander let go of the young vampire's hand, "Follow me." The council member walked out of his office and led Valik to the bar which he would be working at. He eyed the bar and let out a slight glare at the damage. Broken glasses...angry customers...spilt liquor bottles...my my has Charles made a mess of things.
Casander made a mental note to take it out of the human's pay. The vampire turned around to the angry customers, "My apologies everyone. Next three rounds are on me. We have a new bartender as of tonight." Casander turned to Valik and smirked, "Valik? I believe it is time to get to work..."
Casander wanted to see Valik work under the pressure...to see if he could handle it. The vampire sat at the bar and awaited to see what Valik could do.

Valik felt the man grip his hand tightly and smirked even as he matched the shake. It was that whole male thought process. He didn't care either way. A deal was struck and that was it. But he heard Casander chuckle and speak. Well, he could say some thing but figured that Casander would think it was disrespectful so he opted for the second thing that came to mind. "I haven't fallen yet. But even if I did it wouldn't matter I would still be a sexy bitch." He snickered at that one.
He heard Casander's words and lifted a shoulder as if to say let them hit me with their best shot. He followed behind Casander whistling a tune in his head. When Casander stopped he came to stand beside him with a grin of wickedness on his face. He saw all the damage and chaos. Customers were pissed off, there was broken glasses, and as Valik had told Casander the spilled liquor.
He heard Casander step up to the plate by vocally telling the angry customers that they could have the next three rounds on him. "I'd like that." He mumbled to himself. But then Casander turned to him with a smirk. He tilted his head some as Casander spoke. "Of course. I can clean up this mess." He mumbled some.
But he didn't wait for Casander to make a response he was already moving towards the bar. Instead of walking to where he can get in since it was practically jam packed. He brought his foot to a stool and pulled himself up before stepping on the bar. He spoke up then so that he was the center of attention. "Now I'm making you all a deal if you folks aren't yellow."
He waited as the crowd got quiet to hear him. "I will make you all my signature drink...." He knelt down on the bar and picked through the bottles. "Yeah, I got them all." He said as he stood once more. "But on one condition and believe me this is a rare occasion if you like it you buy the ones after but if you don't you get the three rounds that were offered previously."
He waited even as he jumped behind the bar. "Now how many want that deal and how many are going with the boring?" He moved and began to set glasses out even as he entertained the group with tossing up a few or spinning them in his hand as he let his stay flat with palm up. He looked at a pretty lady. "Mmm... You are definitely a sight for sore eyes."
He brought his hand out and lightly took her hand in his and flipped it over kissing the palm of that hand before he set a glass down and ran a finger along a few lines. He looked over to a man in the corner. "You should go talk with him. It's all signs, baby." He began to pour as people told them they wanted his concoction and the woman sat there with a smile looking up at him.
He glanced over at Casander with a wink. "Anyone know any good jokes besides crap drinks and broken glass?" He chuckled at that. He was pissed though at how the bar looked. His bar now.

Casander sat at the bar and awaited to see what the young creature could do. He saw how Valik kept his cool despite the angry customers. 'The Rayven' hosted different types of people, compared to those of other casinos. Each casino had a theme, catering to different types of people. Customer's of 'The Raven', were of the darker variety...and often more impatient...he knew Valik would fit right in.
Casander watched the vampire flip and toss the glasses with ease. Sure, any vampire could perform tricks, but Valik was a natural at entertaining clientele. The council member knew he did right hiring Valik. This did not mean Casander would be careless. Far from it. If Valik brought any harm to Casander or his maker, the vampire would eliminate him without a second thought. Besides, if Valik brought any danger with him, Casander would see it before it happened.
The elder vampire looked around, seeing the customers being quite pleased with this so called 'Magic Concoction'. Valik actually saved Casander quite a bit of money this night. Casander may not be the friendliest of the Magistrate...but when one of his employees made Casander proud, he would repay them. But, the night was still young, and Valik still had to prove himself.
"Anyone know any good jokes besides crap drinks and broken glass?"
Casander saw Valik look at him and smirked. He turned around and looked at the customer's once more. Many of them eyed Casander cautiously...knowing full well of his ruthlessness...but the vampire was in a playful mood this night. "I think I have one..." In a flash, Casander appeared on top of the bar with his legs crossed; allowing the lighting to make his leather pants shine. "What is small, round, colorful, and makes this little sinful city of our's go round and round?" He paused and everyone shook their head, not knowing the answer.
Casander reached behind his leather pants and pulled out a $300 chip; the currency in New Vegas, "Money. Now...I know that it may not be funny, but this does not mean we cannot have some fun with this. I am in a mood for a little game." Casander grinned wickedly and turned around to face Valik, "But why should I steal all the fire? Perhaps Valik can choose the game to play."

Valik looked over the customers calmly. If he lost his cool then the whole place would probably be more interesting and the bar would look worse than it already did. Fuck he had to fix his bar some time during the night. He liked everything in order when it came to a place that he served drinks. He looked down as he heard crunching and glass breaking under his shoes. He kicked the broken bottle lightly out of his way without any emotion showing on his face.
The bar looked more like a war zone than an actual bar right now. He put the bottle down and picked up another with a toss of it into the air but not just a normal toss it went higher almost hitting the ceiling. He picked up another bottle and poured with his speed but where people could still see the quick pouring. He moved back just in time to catch the bottle and pour from that bottle.
"Yeah, this is my own creation. The magic is all in the touch. You can always mix a drink but with a certain touch it can either ruin the drink or make it better. Much like touching a beautiful woman." His eyes slid to the beauty he had spoken to earlier. He winked at her. "And this beautiful woman can tell you all I have a very encouraging touch." When he wanted to or better yet when he wasn't ripping someone apart.
Most of the customers had looked over at Casander and knew that they feared the man. Well, as Valik had said to Casander death is but a mercy. In a way. But instead the man spoke and then appeared on top of the bar. Valik listened as he poured the drinks. He watched as Casander pulled a chip from behind his back. Money. The root of everything really.
He knew where this was leading but listened anyways. He heard the words I am in a mood for a little game. He watched out of thee corner of his eye as Casander turned to him with a wicked grin. He met the man's eyes with a smirk. "I don't gamble with money. My marker is other things." He purred the words. "But I have found my best hands come from Deuce's Wild."
He gave Casander a wicked grin as he moved closer. He got as close as he could to the man's ear so no one could hear him at all but Casander. "But if you prefer the other I can make arrangements." He winked playfully at Casander before making his way back to tending the bar. "But if we are talking other games than what the casino has to offer I have a recommendation." He thought it over for a minute.
"I will mix a drink and since all the labels have been taken off of these bottles one of you drinks it and tells me exactly what is in it. No missing anything in it. If you lose you pay the price of what Casander or I bets. Anyone up for that?" He looked at Casander. "You up for it. Plus I will make you the same exact drink as the one that is playing. I will take a tiny sip just to find if the man..." He looked at a woman in the crowd and winked. "Or beautiful lady is correct. Casander, you up for it?"
He knew that most wouldn't stand a chance but then again the house could win over and over again. "And of course, Casander you will have a guess and I will be the one that says right or wrong. I was just hired tonight so I am not bias." He waited for Casander to agree or not.

Casander's body tensed and clenched his fists; resisting the urge to rip Valik's head right off for his little flirt. Casander did not tolerate actions such as this. Disrespect...Casander would handle...flirting? Absolutely not. Everyone knew Casander belonged to Laik. No one has even attempted to approach Casander because of his maker. People, vampire and human alike, knew better than to anger Laik and Casander, for death would be the most welcoming of gifts after they would be through with their victim.
Casander let this slide for now, but Valik would learn his place soon enough...he just did not want to create a scene in front of his customers; he did not want to lose profit due to a narcissistic and overconfident vampire. There were other ways to handle these situations.
"Sounds like a plan Valik." A smirk appeared on the vampire's face, "Seems this game is going to be fun..." Casander adjusted himself on the stool to make himself more comfortable and looked back at the crowd, "Well? Anyone care to play with me? I promise I won't bite..." Casander chuckled darkly, "Yet..." He winked at the crowd and looked back at Valik, "Give me your best shot."
Casander was confident he was going to win. He knew every single bottle of liquor his casino had. He had no need to worry...

Valik watched as Casander's body tensed up at the flirting. He didn't understand why people were so uptight over healthy flirtation. It wasn't like he was stepping over the boundaries or anything. He gave a slight shrug of his shoulders. He began to move away to the customers again with a slight smirk as if he had been confiding in Casander the game plan.
If he had read Casander right then he would know soon what Casander would do. It didn't matter to Valik. It wasn't like pain bothered him any. He so enjoyed the pain. It was better than the pleasure really or rather pain and pleasure mixed was the ultimate release. Pain brought your nerves raw and the pleasure sent a thrill through you making you want for more of both.
Valik smirked as he listened to Casander speak. "I am always about fun. Why do anything without a little game mixed in?" He pulled two glasses up and began to mix two simple drinks of the same type before mixing them with a stir straw. He picked up one and took a tiny sip out of the straw. He marked the contents in his head. Vodka, gin, a tiny bit of rum, and to smooth it over a bit of coca cola.
He set the glass in front of Casander and one in front of a random man at the bar. "You chicken or up for a game?" He knew the challenge was thrown and men couldn't handle others seeing them challenged and walking away. The man picked up the drink and drank some of it. "Coca cola and rum..." He tossed down his bet. He hadn't been paying attention to how many bottles were used and Valik smirked before looking at Casander waiting for him.

"Coca cola and rum..."
Casander eyed his 'challenger' and shook his head slightly. The vampire did have the upper hand of this little game, but that was the way he liked it. Casander liked being prepared for anything. When his visions failed him, Casander's intellect and ruthlessness would not. This was who he was; this is who he had to be. The vampire knew very well he was not playing fair...then again...anything at a casino is not fair. Why should this little game be any different.
Casander looked down at the concoction and picked it up. He brought the glass of mixed liquor to his nose and smelled it. It was indeed mixed and Valik was smart to attempt to cover the other liquors, but Casander knew better. One of the perks of being a vampire...your sense of smell never fails.
Casander took a sip of the drink and made a slight frown of the taste. The vampire did not enjoy drinking liquor, being that he felt it did nothing for him...but he especially did not like the different liquors in one glass. The vampire looked up at his new bartender and smirked, "Vodka...coca cola..." Casander paused for a few moments, "...gin...and if I am correct a tiny splash of rum."

Valik stood there on the other side of the bar of the two men. It was quite interesting really. He had known that it wasn't fair to pit the customers against Casander. Just a feeling he had but then the only other challenger for house would be him and that wouldn't be fair either. He was mixing the drinks after all. He wondered how many Casander could take. Eh, the night was still young after all. Besides Valik would make sure Casander got home safely. Wouldn't do to leave his new boss looking a drunken fool after all.
He watched as Casander picked up the drink and smelled it. "It isn't poisoned." He teased knowing what Casander was doing. "I drank from it first. Though..." He whispered then to Casander. "I wouldn't know with that other guy having kept the bar." He lifted his shoulders in a shrug. Yes, this would be interesting to see how many Casander could take before loosening up. This was a game after all and he wasn't out to embarrass Casander either. He just wanted the man to have some fun.
He watched as Casander took a drink and frowned at it. He nearly snickered at the frown. The man obviously didn't drink very often. He listened to Casander and then picked up the money. "Sorry, dude you lost." The man got mouthy and Valik gave the man a look of disgust at the words. "You cheated!" Valik responded simply. "I do not cheat. I put four bottles to both glasses and you can ask any that have eyes. If you think I cheated then pay attention and you can bet again."
He snickered at that as the man put down more money. Valik handed the money he had collected over to Casander but kept his eyes on the man. "And if you ever call me a cheater again we can take it outside. I cheat at many things but this is my talent, man and you know nothing of what I can do." He set down two more glasses and then the woman from earlier came up and set down money as well. She grinned at him. "I want a drink, lover." He brought out a third glass and twirled it before setting it in front of her with a wink.
He picked up one bottle and poured that in each glass. He moved the glasses closer together and brought out two more bottles and poured them in as well with one hand and only spilled just a tiny bit. He then spritzed the drinks with sprite and first picked up one and took a sip before turning it so the woman's mouth would touch where his mouth had been as he set in front of her. "For you, lady." He took a sip of Casander's and put it in front of him. The man glared at him and Valik gave a sigh.
"I guess I will have to do this to everyone, right?" The crowd snickered and the crowd sure had started to grow. He lifted the man's drink to his lips and took a sip. "See? No poison." He snorted and heard the crowd laugh as he set the glass down in front of the man. He marked the alcohol in his head. Rum, whiskey, Southern Comfort, and sprite. The whiskey would cancel out the rum, of course leaving the so co to cover up the after taste. He watched the three of them and waited.

Casander let out a soft chuckle at the response of the man he just beat. Casander was a vampire...owner of The Raven...did he really expect to win? He watched as Valik stood up for himself and nodded in approval of his actions. The Raven needed a tough bartender to keep clientele in line. Valik was doing good so far. He kept his cool when the man was beginning to cause trouble and entertained clients.
Casander looked around and noticed more and more people began to crowed around the new bartender. This pleased Casander. He knew he made the right choice in hiring Valik...though...the young vampire had much to learn but vampires had all the time in the world. Casander would eventually need to see his combat skills in case of an emergency and lay down the rules but that could come later.
After all, this was Valik's first day...or rather...night on the job. He saw the new concoction his new bartender set out for him and smirked, "If I did not know any better I say you were trying to get me drunk Valik." Casander did not like being under any sort of influence...with the exception of that from his maker...but that was a different sort of influence.
While working, Casander had to be sharp...after all...he did own half of this casino and part of the city. Counsel members had to be sharp at all times. Casander took a sip of the drink and nodded in satisfaction....Valik had skill. "You are doing very well Valik, I can tell you are going to be a very valuable employee."
