Valik knew he could handle himself perfectly well and his eyes glinted as he stared at the man in front of him. He knew that he was entertaining and the crowd couldn't see the deadly glint in his eyes directed at the man that had called him a cheat. Very few got away with it and only then it was either because he was too lazy to do anything about it or wanted to see how bad the person would end up hanging himself.
But he blinked as if to clear his thoughts on how he wanted the man's blood on his hands and staining them even as he licked the blood from his fingertips and looking down at what was left of the man. How it looked like some wretched beast had torn into him. That wretched beast being Valik. He knew the vital organs and how to keep a body alive long enough to make sure the body felt every exquisite pain it was having done to it.
He then turned his head as he heard Casander's words after he had gotten started on the drinks and tasted them and set them out. "Oh, now would I do something like that?" He asked with a wicked grin playing on his lips. He heard the next words after Casander had taken a drink. "Why thank you. That makes my heart pound with glee, sir." He grinned more at that before he looked out to see more people coming closer.
He heard a few ask if they could buy his concoction. "You mean The Magic Concoction? Sure. Let me finish this round with these folks and I will have it mixed. How many?" He heard the man say eight. Hmm... An even fifteen per drink. "One hundred twenty dollars." The man handed him over the payment and he handed it to Casander. "Give me about ten minutes. Any guesses or do I get the bank?"
He heard the man grumble but shake his head. The woman grinned and shook her head. He looked over to Casander with a perk of his eye questioningly.

{{I just had to do this...}}
Laik watched the antics of the new bartender that Casander was auditioning. His skills were impressive but Laik found him to be a bit too cheeky, especially with the way he interacted with Casander. There were a few times when he wanted to rip the mans head from his shoulders, but he was able to hide this face due to his eight centuries of exsistence. Only the paleness of his eyes showed that he was an elder vampire because his emense muscular body remained forever in its early 30's and forever would.
Finally the cheekiness of this Valik person got to him and he felt the need to mark his territory. He moved from the place where he was standing in the shadows and approached Casander. He stared at Valik with his pale eyes that were a warning to younger vampires of his strength and experience. A low rumble of a growl emmited from his massive chest that strained against the muscle shirt he wore under his black silk sport coat.
His gaze moved from Valik to Casander after giving him a once over. His eyes softened slightly but still held an unrivalled possessiveness. He didn't pause or hesitate but placed his massive hand on the back of Casanders neck and pulled slightly as he lowered his lips to his and kissed him deeply. When he pulled way, he made eye contact with Casander and licked his lips. "Rum...whiskey, Southern Comfort... and sprite." he said flatly, "I like it." He moved his hand to Casanders cheek and stroked it gently with his thumb before looking at Valik again. His chest rumbled with another low growl, "Mind your place and you will do well here." he said as he looked him over one more time then walked away satisfied that his territory was sufficiently marked.

"Give me about ten minutes. Any guesses or do I get the bank?"
Casander let out a slight chuckle at the young vampire. he had to admit, he had good energy...but he did sense a certain...emotion from him...something primal...dangerous. The vampire would definitely keep close tabs on this young vampire. He did not want a psychotic employee working in his casino. Casander was about to respond but felt someone behind him...Laik...
Casander turned his head to face his maker and smiled...but it was quickly removed once he saw the way he looked at Laik. Casander was ready to calm him down...he didnt want a beheading in front of the customers...but he knew Laik knew better than that. As Laik pulled him into a kiss, Casander kissed his love back just as deeply. As his lover broke the kiss, Casander just smiled.
"Rum...whiskey, Southern Comfort... and sprite...I like it."
Casander smirked, "If you liked that...I am sure you will like later tonight..." The vampire winked and eyed his maker as he left them alone. Casander turned back to Valik, "Consider yourself lucky Valik...he usually beheads those who interact with me in such an informal matter..."
Casander chuckled a bit more and continued sipping his drink...it was beginning to grow on him. "But do well and I will make sure that lovely little head of your's stays."

(It's fine, Laik I was expecting it. Lol!)
Valik was doing his job. He was interacting with everyone and anyone that sat at the bar. He was personal in his attention but intended on sticking clear of those about including Casander. The man was quite handsome but there was always a but somewhere. He couldn't put his finger on why he didn't want him. Maybe it was the job. You just didn't get literally into the bed with your boss. It meant problems.
He looked up at the potential problem just then and smirked to himself. Ah, the other half. He gave a bow of his head in greeting but then the man was laying his claim on Casander and it didn't bother Valik one whit either. He tilted his head some judging his words carefully but his tone was respectful. "I always mind my place. I'm just the bartender. I am supposed to talk and interact." Just stated the facts. "Be an entertainer. That is what makes a successful bartender."
He watched the man walk away and nodded. "Have a good night, mate!" He slid the money over to Casander once more even as the man began to sip at the drink. He heard the words and chuckled some with humor. "And I told you death would be a mercy to me." He whispered the words so that only Casander could hear. "But I won't take death upon myself without a fight."
He grinned wickedly. "You think I have a lovely head? How endearing." He wasn't being disrespectful just as he had said. He was being interactive.

Casander shook his head slightly and chuckled, "He would rip in to shreds before you could even blink Valik. Trust me, I know. I've seen it." Casander finished his drink and pushed it in front of Valik, letting him know he was finished for the night. The vampire was no where near drunk but he needed to be fully functional.
"You think I have a lovely head? How endearing."
Casander smirked, "I love your sense of humor...and your style." The vampire gave Valik a once over, "Suits this casino perfectly. After your shift I would like to give you a tour of the casino and perhaps arrange sleeping quarters for you. Of course...there are rules here which I, and Laik, personally enforce." It was a warning of sorts...any employee who breaks rules are subject to punishment.
Casander looked around at the people flocking to the bar and Valik keeping his cool, "My, my...I do believe you are the most successful bartender I have yet hired."

Valik gave him a wicked grin. "Of course he would but then again he may get bored with doing just that." He gave Casander a wink. It wasn't sexual but more of a secret jest. "But I wouldn't be bored with that." He watched as Casander pushed the drink away and he lifted the glass and tossed it up some before catching it whistling without a comment of any kind.
He then heard Casander's words of loving his sense of humor and style. He turned some so that Casander could give him a good once over. "Will do, boss." He looked about at the mess still behind the bar. "And I will fix it the way it should be after the tour." He then groaned at the words of rules. "Isn't there always that?" He tilted his head some and gave a genuine grin.
"But do you think that the rest of your employees will refrain from trying to murder me until I am awake? Wouldn't do if I don't feel the enjoyments." But then he saw Casander look around and his gaze followed his at the people flocking towards the bar. He brought his hand up and ran it through his hair messing it up more.
"Seems so, boss." He moved towards the customers. "Wait until the lull!" He said to Casander. "I do a mean karaoke!" He chuckled at that as he heard the people whispering about that. He nodded to a few and heard their orders. He set down the glasses and began to pour tossing a bottle one by one as he caught and poured and continued doing so until their drinks were made.
He saw a few women pointing at him and one beckoned him over after he took the money and went over. "Yes, sweethearts?" He leaned in to hear their words and gave a chuckle. "Oh surely not!" He playfully looked aghast even as one ran a finger along his cheek and the other slid a hand into his hair. "Hmm... Same price as a drink and I will do it?" The girls nodded and produced the money. He took it as well.
He began to think over the proposition and smirked. Then a song came to mind and he grinned. Counting Bodies Like Sheep. "Don't fret precious I'm here. Step away from the window. Go back to sleep Safe from pain and truth and choice and other poison devils, See, they don't give a fuck about you, like I do." He pointed at himself with a bottle in his hand as he eyed the women.
"Counting bodies like sheep Counting bodies like sheep Counting bodies like sheep To the rhythm of the war drums Counting bodies like sheep Go back to sleep Go back to sleep Counting bodies like sheep To the rhythm of the war drums..." He continued to sing the song as he moved to make drinks and pick up money. But stopped making drinks to finish the song.
"I’ll be the one to protect you from your enemies and all your demons I'll be the one to protect you from a will to survive and a voice of reason I'll be the one to protect you from your enemies and your choices son They're one in the same, I must isolate you… Isolate and save you from yourself … " He had been moving to the beat as he had finished the song. He looked over at Casander even as people had started to move to the song he had sung.
"Now enough because I can't give away all of my talents in one night!" They laughed even as he hummed the song he had just sung. In the lull he went to stand by Casander. "Yeah, the crowd sure does gather fast, don't it?" He chuckled wickedly at that.

"Of course he would but then again he may get bored with doing just that..But I wouldn't be bored with that."
Casander let out a sigh and looked at the vampire with slightly annoyed eyes. Valik was funny, sure, but he had no idea what Laik was capable of, "I would watch my back around him. He doesn't tolerate many actions as I do. You say death is a mercy to you but Laik is one to prolong your death. This, I can assure you without a doubt in my mind."
"And I will fix it the way it should be after the tour."
Ah, there was the employee Casander hoped Valik could become. He had a sense of responsibility, good...very good. The vampire smirked slightly, "Well, I am paying you to do this and I expect this bar to be clean as a whistle before sunrise. You must also take inventory of what liquors and garnishes we have and what we need to restock on."
Casander heard his bit about karaoke and nodded appreciatively at his voice. He had a decent voice, but was no comparison to the entertainers Casander and Laik had to hire on a regular basis. But, it was nice to see a bartender with other talents besides mixing drinks. Valik was refreshing, just what The Raven needed.
Casander turned his head to the clock and noticed it was almost his time to go...his time to be with his love...their private time together. The vampire turned his head to Valik, "I must retire for the evening Valik. You have done a magnificent job so far and hope you continue working here. I will make it worth your while." The vampire counted the chips in his pocket and placed $500 worth of chips in front of Valik, "This is your pay for tonight. My employees take care of me, I take care of them."
Casander stood up from the stool and looked around, noticing a server and waved her to come closer to him, "Darla, please show our dear Valik his new room after his shift." The vampire server nodded and looked over at Valik and winked. "Yes sir." Casander looked back at Valik and smiled, "Welcome to The Raven Valik, you are now part of the family. Darla shall fill you in on the rules here after your shift. I must retire now, goodnight."
The vampire bowed his head slightly and turned around. Casander smiled on the inside knowing he was going to see his maker...oh how he loved the end of each night...

Valik heard the sigh that Casander gave even as he saw the annoyed eyes peering at him. Casander didn't know that Valik enjoyed the pain. It was close to pleasure. The pain only elicited the pleasure in him. He heard Casander's words and looked out of the corner of his eye. "The longer the death the better is what I say."
More and more work. Valik almost let a groan slip out as he heard the words that had come from Casander. Clean and take inventory. "Well, if I am to do inventory I will have to drink from most of the bottles to find out what they are so if I am drunk what happens is not entirely my fault. Is that fine by you?" He chuckled at that. He was asking a very logical question since most of the bottles he had were without any sign as to what exactly they were.
He heard Casander say after the karaoke session that he would be retiring for the evening. He heard the next words as he watched as some chips were placed in front of him. He began to pick them up even as he counted them in his head. He put the chips into his pocket. "You keep me around and you will see how well I take care of... Things."
He looked over as Casander spoke to a woman. He saw were wink and smirked. "What a beautiful woman you are... Darla, isn't it?" He looked over at Casander as he welcomed him to The Raven. "Parting is such sweet sorrow!" He spoke to Casander as he walked away and returned the bow of his own head before he turned to Darla. "Looks like I have a long night ahead of me." He snickered at that and began to do what he was being paid to do.

***Thanks Thorn for letting me borrow Laik for one post***
Hiro could feel him close. He could smell him. His body tingled with anticipation. He knew Valik thought he was dead or he would have never left him behind. He knew after what happened, there was no way Valik would have left him. He was surprised Valik had not day walked. He would have but then Valik had always been stronger than him. He assumed Valik had not daywalked because Hiro would not have wanted him to. Hiro was so relieved he had not. He missed him so much; he was all he could think about.
He was still weak and looked nearly emaciated with dark circles under his sunken eyes. He had not fed in the years that he was in the sleep of the dead. It was by luck that someone who had just died was buried just over him where he had been buried under the burned tree. It was only a miracle that the fire felled a tree on top of him before he could be turned to ashes and pushed him through the earth into the cavern that would be his tomb for the next 30 years. He slept for years in the sleep of the dead until the drops of blood from the human body buried over him found its way to his lips.
It didn’t matter. He smelled him, he felt him, he sensed he was near. He pushed through the door of the casino, several gasps and exclamations escaped the lips of many of the patrons of the establishment. He felt hands on him of the vampires who recognized the state he was in. “Let us help you.” They pleaded.
“Valik!” He tried to shout but the words came out a rough croak. He suddenly felt the vampires being pushed away. “Leave him be, can’t you see, he’s here for his mate. Keep the humans away, can’t you tell he has been in the sleep of the dead?” He heard the deep voice and looked up to see a very large bald man. “Let him go, someone get a blood slave. Move it people.” He turned away from the vampire who was obviously in charge and very old. “Go on man, he’s in the bar.” He scowled at the voice. “I know… where my Valik… is.” He growled and half ran, half staggered to the doorway. He stopped and leaned heavily on the door frame. “Valik!” this time he managed to almost shout the name but he knew it should have been sufficient for Valik to hear him.

Valik had found some time with the patrons of The Raven giving him a lull. They chatted with him and he responded some but then life never had been the same without Hiro. He lived like it was not a major deal and killed in the same way. He began to clean up the bottles when suddenly he heard a commotion in the next room. He wondered if he should go and see what was going on being curious but he had begun to grip the bottle too tight and it broke in his hand. His blood slid down his hand but he just dropped the pieces.
He didn't understand what was causing him to get upset or worked up but he knew something was going on and wished he could slip away but knew that he couldn't. He began to continue to clean with his blood dripping and him whistling some. He got on his knees to wipe up underneath the bottles when suddenly he heard his name. That voice so clear. He knew he knew that voice and he stood holding another bottle in his hand in shock.
He had heard THAT voice, right? He got on the bar as he dropped the bottle uncaring. There were so many bodies. He wished he could tear them apart as he shoved them away to get to the door. When he finally got clear of the bodies after throwing a few aside and the rest had made a path for him he saw HIM. "Hiro?" He questioned softly as if he was losing his mind. It is Hiro! He ran to him and looked at him as only a lover would do. As if the world was not there at all and it was only the two of them.
"Hiro?" He repeated. "Oh hell! I thought you had died! So long, lover!" He couldn't contain it he wrapped his arms about the man and pulled him close. "Oh! It really is you... I thought I was losing my mind! So long I have wished..." He looked him over for a moment. "Am I dead or asleep?" He questioned. He was so stunned. He had truly thought Hiro had died. "I was going to go back for you but everything was burned. To ash it all was and I thought you too..." The words were said so softly as if they broke the man's heart. He hadn't wanted to leave Hiro. If he had known... It was so unlike Valik to show any type of emotion but Hiro had always had a way of getting Valik to show something other than what he had given anyone for this long.

Hiro knew he was in this room, of this building, on this street, in this city. He knew it as surely as he knew he loved him. When he heard his voice, every ounce of strength that he had mustered to get his feet to move another step, another block, another mile, left him. His knees buckled as he fell into the chest of the one he had been dreaming of and searching for, for so long. He clung toValik's clothes as he felt the arms go around him and he regained his balance by leaning into him.
He shook his head when it seemed as though Valik was going to blame himself. “There was a sinkhole. I was burned. I slept.” He murmured softly. You could have heard a pin drop in the place and people in both rooms watched curiously to see what was going on. Hiro smelled Valiks blood and looked anxiously for it. It was coming from Valik’s hand. He frantically grabbed for it and pulled it to his mouth. It would not sustain him but it would renew his bond with his mate. As he sucked eagerly at the wound a commotion came from near the elevators as a blood slave was ushered into the lounge where the starving vampire clung to his reason for living.

Valik didn't know if he was imaging the whole thing. It would be a cruel thing if he were just imaging this. He saw Hiro as he took another step. How the great fall when their love was harmed and watching was making Valik nearly want to fall to his knees and cry for the man he loved. The woman he had been flirting with earlier thought she could turn his focus from Hiro and getting to him. She grabbed his arm and he shoved her off of him. "Leave me alone!" He growled at her and moved closer only to feel Hiro fall into his chest and he caught him while wrapping his arms about him. He felt Hiro's hands clinging to his clothing and wished he could do something for the man he loved so much.
He felt as Hiro shook his head and heard the softly spoken words. He didn't care what others thought of what was going on. He soon felt his cut hand grabbed for so frantically and then felt his cut being sucked on. His free hand moved along Hiro's back lightly. He leaned down and kissed the top of Hiro's head. Oh, how he loved having Hiro back into his arms and the feel of his mouth taking his blood. Every instinct came to life in Valik. A protectiveness and he would never let Hiro go again.
"I should have looked for you better but I didn't know what I would find. I wanted to remember you as you were. My Hiro." He looked over as there was a commotion near the elevators. "We should move to somewhere more private. Would you like me to carry you or do you think you can walk, my beautiful lover?" He was still in shock but he knew that Hiro needed him. "I will be always by your side, my Hiro."

Hiro felt so tired and just wanted to sleep but he was so hungry. He lost his grip on Valiks hand when the woman grabbed him and he hissed sharply, his face taking on a demonic look because of the state he was in. “Mine!” he growled and clung more insistently to Valik. He knew in his weakened state that Valik would not let anyone bring harm to him and for that he was grateful because he was feeling quite vulnerable, especially with some of the vampires around him being so old. He could tell by their eyes the number of centuries they had lived. His own eyes had paled from black to crimson in his lifetime. “Touch him again, human…I dare you.” He growled to assert his menacing countenance. Hiro didn’t want to seem weak to Valik but after 30 years in the ground and nothing to feed on but a few drops from a corpse, just enough to get him out of the hole, he could not take another step on his own. “I need your help.” He said softly. His Japanese mannerisms were something he never lost, even if he was evil, he was always soft spoken, sometimes it made him seem even more evil, especially when he laughed. “So hungry…let me have the woman.” He looked past Valik at the woman who tried to pull him away from him, his face still twisted like a demonic monster.

Valik felt Hiro lose his grip on Valik's hand when the woman had grabbed him and Valik wanted to kill the woman for it. He loved the possessiveness that Hiro shown when he growled and clung more against him. "Always yours, Hiro." He whispered to him softly. He could tell that Hiro was in a very weakened state and knew that it would take more than just one blood slave to fill him. He continued to use his hand that wasn't bleeding to rub along Hiro's back as if to comfort him. If any tried to harm Hiro they would deal with Valik's wrath. He would torture them so slowly while keeping them alive just to feel every bit of the pain Valik gave to them. He heard Hiro's next words to the human woman and gave a smirk. That was definitely the Hiro he continuously remembered.
Valik would never see Hiro as weak. This was just a fluke to him. He would always remember the strong man whom killed countless numbers and tortured just as many with him. While Hiro was the soft spoken man, Valik was the outspoken one. Hiro was the quiet stalked while Valik preferred the scaring of people or luring them in quite easily. He heard the next words as he looked over at the woman and couldn't help the smirk that was forming. "Your wish is my command." He spoke so softly as he first lifted Hiro into his arm too easily for Valik's liking but all would be as it should be soon enough.
He held Hiro against him as his cut hand reached out and grabbed the woman's wrist. "You wanted to play so shall it be." He dragged her forward as he lifted Hiro better in his arms carrying him like a bride. He dragged her along with him as he carried Hiro into a room. He put Hiro onto the bed gently before he grabbed the woman by the throat even as he dragged her with him to close the door behind them. He wasn't quite sure whose room it was but figured it didn't really matter. He heard her choking and crying. Her begging him not to give her to the man on the bed.
He chuckled darkly as he leaned down and whispered in her ear. "He wants you and so he will have you even if I have to tear you to pieces. Either you do it graceful and elegantly or ugly and painful it doesn't matter to me." He lifted his shoulders in a shrug as he let go of her wrist but kept his hand on her throat. "One other thing... You run and I will catch you. I enjoy the chase." With that he forced her over to the bed and forced her down on the bed even as he straddled her. He looked over to Hiro lovingly. "Where would you like her? How would you like her as well?"
He heard her sobbing and gripped her throat tighter for a moment before letting it loose enough for her to breathe once more. "How about my laying down and her on top so I can watch you take from her? Do you think she will like looking at her tormentor's face the whole time, dear Hiro? I think she would enjoy that very much." He looked down into her face as he waited for Hiro's response. "Or should I hold her down on top of you while you drink your fill of her?"

Hiro's mouth watered with anticipation. If he had more strength, he would have pounced on the women and drained her dry, but for now, he relied on Valik's assistance to get his meal. He knew Valik would continue to bring him blood until he had his fill. He also knew that would take awhile for as long as he was in the sleep of the dead.
He didnt care how he got the blood, as long as he got it n ow. But he did have a preference as to who he was looking at as he fed. He wanted to look at Valik and only Valik. "She is pathetic and not worth my gaze."
"I want to see your face." he murmured. "I want to see your face while I feed, lover." he pleaded. He couldn't stand the thought of Valik being out of his sight for even a moment right then. "Any vein...so hungry."
